I currently own three suits: an old classic I bought from BM-I Bobby Pritchard; a GTi that was my first suit (I sold it to Scott, then re-traded for it); and my ultimately bad-ass SF-3. I keep the lesser suits for traiining purposes and to lend to people in your situation after they attend my First Flight Course. I don't think it's possible to own enough wingsuits.

0:0:0 Taught one AFF FJC. I have students stacked up like cord wood, but cannot beat mother nature. I am incredibly sick and tired of this wet weather and the gnats that come with it. Chuck

Blue Skies, Black Death (Roger Nelson)

The other jumper was treated at the hospital and released last night. -
I do this as well and for the same reasons. It also looks very sloppy having people walking around the dropzone with their passenger harness hanging off their ass. While the people who regularly practice the "tighten it later" plan (Like the Golden Knights Tandem Section) have a method to their madness, I just don't buy it. Sigma 370s are awesome canopies; quite low toggle pressure and a fantastic flare. I have landed people nearly twice my size without their assistance on the toggles. Chuck

I now have "November Rain" playing at maximum volume on my surround sound in my RV. I am not sure when I am going to turn it off. We have already done our BSBD toast here in the Rancho Deluxe; I hope you have done the same. -
What are the physical differences Classic II vs GTi
SkymonkeyONE replied to Viking's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Arthur, there is an unbelievably different difference between the flight characteristics of the different models. Chuck -
At just over 200 jumps, you are at the bare minimum experience needed to make your first flight. That said, you have no business starting out on a higher-performance suit. Don't hurt yourself. Jump the easierst suit available for your limited experience level: a Classic. Edited to say that with 350 current skydives, you would probably be fine in the GTi, assuming you are "smooth" in the air. Bottom line here is that the larger the wings, the less tollerance there is for flailing. Chuck

Missy, Rook: lyrics from an old favorite band of mine; Business and Industry: "If you were down and out, I would lend you my, helping hand, it might prove, too much for one. I'd gladly ease your pain. I'd take you, out from under, take you somewhere you could, rest your precious soul, I'd make you wonder........ Peace be with you my swoopy brother and sister. Chuckie -
Blue Skies, Black Death (Roger Nelson)

I am sad to inform you all that Roger Nelson, DZO of Skydive Chicago is dead. He was hit by another skydiver landing today and is now dead. My sincerest condolences so all his family, especially my friend and fellow pro swoop competitor, Rook. "It's better to burn out than fade away!" Chuck Blue D-12501 Raeford Parachute Center -

I would have loved to have had a lemon pound cake with me to munch on, but such was not the case on any of those dives. Yes, my brakes were very long and my dive loops were plenty high. I was pretty miffed actually. I had already owned five swooping canopies prior to that first Stilleto: an Excallibur, two Monarch 135's and two Sabre 135's. I did riser dives on all of those with no problem. Like I said, it was just that one canopy. I did what I had to do to get a nice swoopy out of it.

Small Canopies and cypres's???
SkymonkeyONE replied to garyharbird's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I jump a CYPRES in two of my three rigs. I set my Dytter off on about half of my swoops under canopies as small as a CC-65 up to a Stiletto 107 with no misfires. I regularly jump a 75 and a 79 square foot Velocity at 2.34 and 2.3 respectively. I don't personally know of, or have even heard of anyone having a CYPRES misfire during a canopy dive. Chuck -
