  1. I did ground training for a guy over a month ago, but due to fairly long distance he had to travel and his work schedule, he was only able to made his first jump two days ago. No problem, he did seven that day and three the next, thus taking him all the way through the "AFF" ISP levels and through Cat F before he had to leave yesterday. That is what I like to see; total dedication to knocking it out. I have had four very motivated students lately who hawe finally gotten the weather they needed to get up in the air and stay there. All are now into their coach dives and should be walking around with A-license stamps on their foreheads this weekend. Chuck
  2. what do you mean "no altimeter?" I put an altimeter on pretty much all my passengers and will generally ask them if they want to pull. If they do, I brief them just like I would a Cat A AFF student. On a Sigma there is no handle to lose and the right side drogue release is in about the same position a BOC handle is on a student rig from the front, passenger, location. Some people don't want to pull, some do. Some want a nice stable exit, some want to "do tricks." Chuck

  4. Those too drunk to travel onto post or who just don't give a shit about riding in a car can look forward to drinking like vikings here on the airport or over at Shecky-doo-da's house.
  5. I have a LOT of tandem jumps. Lucky for me, most of my current tandem mains are Sigmas. That said, if a student wants to go through all the Cat A criteria, then I have no problem letting him do PRCP's and then pulling. On a Sigma, you show them the right side drpgue relaase. At the same time they are going in for the passenger release, you are putting your left hand on the auxilliary release. No big deal at all. chuck
  6. From a BASE jump? I though you were DONE skydiving? Not that that is what anyone of us analytical fucks wanted to hear. Chuck
  7. rest your precious soul...........

  11. Scott has my old SF, but will be ordering an SF3 most rickity-tick.
  12. I have never once, since the invention of slider stowing, heard of anyone having even a frection of a second delay from cutting away with their slider stowed. Derek (hooknswoop) recently did a test on his cutaway rig to see, once and for all, if there was any delay; he found none whatsoever. Trust me, trust Derek's test, or be afraid for no real reason. Chuck
  13. What are you up to, Kimmie? Is it a secret? Inquiring monkeys want to know.
  14. I believe Eric is bringing at least one raft to the event as well.

  16. And you were looking at that website because...............?
  17. I can't do a cartwheel in my personal office, but I can also lock the door. I have cold AC, a very obedient dog that lays at my feet, and the sound of turbine aircraft going up and down all day. My office is about 200 feet from the bar and maybe 100 feet from my RV. I am not sucking. Chuck
  18. I never had a problem getting my slider over smaller Rapides before I went to slinks. If anything, I had a lower incidence of brake fires due to the holdup at the links. Yes, of course that adds a degree of wear to your slider grommets, but no, I never wore any lines prematurely due to that. As to the "increased danger" , I am not sure what you are talking about. Is it possible that you are attempting to pull your slider down your risers AFTER you unstow your brakes? Don't do that. Open, kill slider, pull slider over stowed toggles carefully and down until it is stowed securely, loosen chest strap fully, unstow brakes, fly parachute to landing. Chuck
  19. Jari was, in fact, looking for a ride. If you gals are all planning on riding with Kramer, then it may be time for someone else to offer up a larger vehicle, ANDREA! That, or Jari's old minivan. Chuckie
  20. Goat and Deva were there too? Noice. Those are some nice pics. Chuckie
