  1. High speed stalls not only "can" happen, they do happen on plenty of occasions when people are learning to rear-riser their landings. Thankfully, the great majority happen at altitude during practice. Want to see some video of high speed stalls? Look for video of Andy Farrington piling into the pond and losing both of his shoes at the Fantasy of Flight meet two years ago. Want another? Look at Joe Bennet's at the November 2002 swoop meet at ASC. Pull down to hard on your rears, or hold them too long while having them slightly pulled down too far, and you are going to lose your canopy incredibly fast. Chuck
  2. Bungees only inflate after you reach a certain airspeed. Below that airspeed, the bungee cord keeps the center pulled down and collapsed. They suck for swoopers as well because the speed of the dive reinflates them. They were fairly popular about a decade ago.
  3. To the original poster: I don't really care what you think my motivations were for locking that thread and I will reiterate what you have already been told: I will do as I please to protect the "good vibe" of the portions of this website which I moderate. If you have a problem with that, feel free to find another website to post to. I can assure you that you do not have any idea what degree this "issue" had risen to. Therefore, I will do what I need to do to get this situation resolved as I see fit. Chuck Blue D-12501

  10. Well here at Raeford, in our wireless environment which covers the majority of the DZ, my goal of to just be able to use my bluetooth modem adapter which has one of my wireless modem cards plugged in to upload live, straight to a folder on my computer for possibly faster editing.
  11. Just wondering if anyone has actually used the "network" function on their PC 120. I find it fascinating that it's possible to surf the internet with our camera, but for what? Anyone? Chuck

  13. Depends. I think I would rather slide in a landing on a sub 100 crossbrace than stall a 106 if I were a student. Straight in, no speed building maneuver, just butt slide
  14. Professional Poker. That, or curling....You know, the thing they do on ice with brooms.

  16. We don't recommend the use of pullouts, but there are several people out there who post here (J.P. Furnari) who does it regularly with no problem.
  17. You know, it's entirely possible to build a VW engine from aftermarket parts for under one thousand dollars. It's also entirely possible to drop the engine in ten minutes and to rebulid the engine in about two hours. Very, very similar to a Harley engine. Chuck
