  1. Be at Zhills, fool. See you there. No, once again, you cannot drive our golf cart.
  2. Don't squash your old man, monkey! He seems to be an alright guy. We will see you both in about a week and a bit. No tequilla please....
  3. The smaller the canopy, the more difference it makes in whether you have your slider pulled all the way down and stowed (and your chest strap loosened all the way out) or not.
  4. Enough. Keep the bullshit in Bonfire please.
  5. Aaron, are you asking if you think it's cool to fly around front and give a smile and a thumbs up? I would not have any problem with that at all, particularly if it was the reserve-side guy doing it. For that matter, I wouldn't have any problem with either guy doing it in the middle of the skydive so long as the student is doing an OK job on the jump and doesn't need any "hands on" adjustments. Do what feels good so long as you are in position to take care of business at the bottom end. chuck
  6. That is something you are going to have to discuss with a doctor.
  7. look over on jim's www.canopypiloting.com site and scroll around till you find it.
  8. I have never paid more than $35 for a reserve repack in the state of North Carolina. They might charge more up in north Raleigh, but there are about fifty riggers here in Fayetteville that will pack anything you like for $35. Over half of them are master riggers. I was fascinated that they were getting like $75 at Perris for a standard repack. Likewise, I am sure my dad still charges $35 down at his place in Opelika. Chuck
  9. This is a better forum for your question, Jon. Chuck
  10. Just a quick interjection on Kill Line Sliders. I have one on my Firebolt 350 as well and I LUURRVE them. I despise "slida-flappida" and even my short ass doesn't have any problem reaching them after opening. As to the "what if left in killed configuration" question, I am surprised at you Dave; you are a packer. I would hope that every person you use to pack tandems would be careful enough not to miss such a thing. You could "what if" that one to death I guess, but I am not going to concern myself with such hypothetical problems. Chuck
  11. I will definitely agree that the gripper angle would certainly relieve much of the wrist fatigue I get on my S3. I think I will mod my S3 in this manner and tell you what I think! Oddly, there was a guy jumping a pretty old classic at the bigways in Deland recently (Dingo? Is that right, Ed?). He had his classic wings modded with an addition which added a bit of wing and vertical grippers, just like on an S3; smart thinking.
  12. Craig, bring your demos. Aubrey Easterlin will be flying the BirdMan banner at his Aerodyne booth, but will only have a couple of suits. We are relying on the AZTC suits plus a couple I am sending for FFC's at this point.
  13. I am about tired of the attacks directed at Mike Gruwell and Chuting Star Rigging, so let's keep this thread a bit more civil and on track. If any of you, as individuals or business owners being "scammed", have real grief with the skyride system then I suggest you take action. Conversely, if you are simply interested in joining a wide-ranging witch hunt or jumping on the bandwagon of an issue which does not affect you personally in any way then I suggest you get over it. I, personally, do not like the advertising practices of the ASC/SkyRide conglomerate, but that does not stop me from working at a dropzone which accepts the certificates (as does SlotPerfect). Nor does any of this make me think any less of the people jumping in Cedartown and still working at that dropzone. Targetting Mike because his rigging loft is in that building and because he trains with his four-way team there on occasion just doesn't sit well with me. Chuck
  14. PIA is much more than a tradeshow. It's a place to get incredibly drunk early in the day with your buddies from other companies. Oh wait, I guess most tradeshows are that way. "Hey J.!" "What, Chuck?" "Cockatillioooooooooooooo!" "Oh no, not again."
  15. There used to be a place like that in the gaslamp district of San Diego as well.
  16. That sounds great! Robert is a very smart guy and I am sure he will sell a lot of suits.
  17. Think nothing of it. I am all about a good bar fight now and then. It's good to be able to blow off steam in such a manner on occasion.
  18. They used to fly a DO-27 at the german dropzone in Hanau, Germany back in the early 80's. I have more than a few jumps out of one. It was cool having to crawl over the door lip to jump out.
  19. First of all, "what off season?" We skydive all year long here in NC. Likewise, it's incredibly fun to hit some boogies in warmer climes over the winter. In the absence of that, like Airtwardo recommended, bar fighting will really keep you in shape!
  20. Hey, J., I think you should have a COCKATILLIOOOOOOOOOO!
  21. Make sure you feel the wind blowing on your feet. If you cannot feel that, then your feet are in the burble created by your upper legs and your lower legs will not provide any drive. Also, if you get the "legs out" signal, get them out and KEEP THEM THERE. Many, many students will initially respond to the signal, but will pull them back in during practice pulls or during the turns on level II (technically CAT B in the USA).
