the people i meet that ask about it ill tell them where to go. but i dont go around just asking people to do it, and i dont really tell many new people that i do it either , to many people think im crazy for doing it. family on the other hand tell everyone that we( my little sister jumps to) jump light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak

maybe its not what it used to be, as far as time spent, but people today want speed alot of the people that do tandems that i see are thier just for the "i did it" and they wont be back to do it again no matter how long they spend in a class room. those that will be back are going to be back and thats when a more in depth explanation would justify the time. advertising the sport more to the public (not letting the news be the advertiser) would help alot more to get people intrested. light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak

i had 3 tandems before i did aff and then did 22 jumps after that to get my a lic, but i also know others that did 30 jumps after their tandems before they were given their a's, i think every jump should count as personal jumps but releasing a student and giving them their a lic should be up to the inst and school just my 0.02 light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak

where i did aff i think the weight limit is 250 and the gear i used surely could have had fit someone 7ft tall im 6.1 and had to snug everything up to the piont it wouldnt go anymore light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak

Its a shame most smaller dropzones can't afford to pay for billboards. most smaller dz probably cant afford a billboard but if the uspa was to do some advertising just on the radio or tv it would definitly have some effect and from thier web site its pretty easy to find the dz closest. even a small advertisment in some of the more popular sporting mag or travel guides light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak

i to am new to the sport started jumping 6 months ago. IMO addvertising the sport would do a lot of good before i started i had never seen an advertisment for skydiving and now that im in the sport its only advertised in the skydiving circle. with all the competition for peoples time and money in todays markets if you dont actively throw it out in peoples faces they will countinue on oblivios to its existence and accsesability, before my first tandem i didnt even know that i lived as close to sda as i do light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak

i have a friend that wants to do a tandem but he has a problem with his shoulder he works in construction and can still do his job wich requires him to do a lot of lifting without a lot of problems. its just if he moves it a certian way it hurts him pretty bad. so my ? is should he or shouldnt he do a tandem light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak
