it seems to me that if you were to make a crash mat for skydiving it would be simpler and justifable to build one for hp landings. i dont think there would actually be a way to build something thats made to hit for someone at TV and not kill the person. on the other hand if you built a huge wind tunnel for someone to fall into, it would have to be like 300ft in diameter, might save some lives light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak

if some one is really enthused to do a jump a little bit of research and they can find were to go. but there are also people like me out their, i was asked by my little sister if i would make a tandem jump with her. thats how i got into this sport. and a customer of hers was the one that told her about it. i never saw an advertisement for it, i had thought about skydiving before when my grandparents lived next to a dz in missori. but i was to young time went on and just never thought about it again. so if there was some advertising i think it would really help, even if 1 out of every100 people brought in by advertising stayed in it i think there would still be a big increase in the number of jumpers, and the rest would just be a big help to dzo's being able to keep their doors open and supporting bigger ac. i think there would have to be a certain amount of co-op between local dz's for the advertising to be fair and cost effecient. or the uspa could take and add a advertising branch to their org. after all more jumpers means more money for them as well. light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak

i kind of disagree with you, with stunts that people do see is whats going to bring some people out to the dz. but like i have said before and pilatus_p has also said, just advertising this sport to the general public will help more. most people dont realize how accsesable it is. before i got into it i couldnt tell someone where a single dz was located or how to find one.if you look into all the different sports in my oppinion all parachute sports are the least advertised. if someone just wanted to skydive to see what its like, if they dont know how easy it would be or how close they are to a facility they will continue on with out doing it untill they just dont think about it anymore. its not like all of us just woke up one morning and thought hey i want to be a skydiver, something or someone gave us the idea to try it at some point. light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak
