  1. Can you quantify that statement with some actual numbers or projections? What tax rate do you suggest, what income brackets, what is your projected revenue increase. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  2. I am trying to find some additional information but here is some stuff I found so far. Based on the 2006 census there were 2.2M households with annual income over 250K. The average annual income of this group was 448K. That would give you revenue of 1 trillion dollars a year if you taxed them at a 100% rate, excluding the impact of any tax shelters etc. You would only get your 1 trillion if you taxed ALL of that group at 250K. That means you are going to consider the double earner family in CA making 270K in CA as rich even though they currently live well but are far from ultra rich and they will get no money to live. This ignores the effect of income tax brackets as well. You would probably only get 100% tax on income over 250K, the first 250K would get taxed at lower rates/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Household_income_in_the_United_States#cite_note-US_Census_2006_Economic_Survey.2C_income_data-5 Even if this proposal has a nuetral impact on the economy, good luck on that one, it isn't going to get you there. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  3. Funny I didn't say the rich didn't have money, your suprised that we confirmed something that we all knew already? What I don't think is that a large tax increase on rich alone will cover the projected future spending on our interest obligation, and future expenditures on entitlements. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  4. Why wait for them to die. We can just nationalize all their wealth and give it to every one else. Imagine how great it would be if we could just take every ones wealth over a certain threshold. Then we could use it for all these great social programs. Spending wouldn't be a problem. Why worry about waste and graft. Thats the ticket! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  5. I disagree, that sounds right inline with the SC standard opperating procedures. Why argue the merits of your stance when you can attack the poster and contribute noise to the conversation. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  6. except if we tax them properly - rather than squeezing the life out of the middle class... (the rich are only a minority after all) Unfortunately I don't think that would work. You could tax the rich 99% on their income, corporations on 99% of the net income, and it wouldn't cover the gap. There is a difference between wealth and income. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  7. Will that even make a difference. We are living in a big freaking ponzi scheme. The baby boomers have been living high on the hog. The governments they elected have put us down the path of ruin. Their elected governments have robbed to coffers of Social Security for decades. Their elected government passed the Medicare monstrosity that will drain the majority of federal revenues. The future generations will have to live with the fact that their standard of living will never equal past generations, which makes sense because the standard of living of future generations was mortgaged on our future. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  8. The debt is going to be repaid with more than a pound of flesh from the ass of every middle class citizen. The rich are rich, and their overall standard of living will not be drastically impacted. The poor and lower class will continue to receive the benefits of the progressive tax system, and social welfare. The middle class will suffer a huge increase in tax burden. Cost of living is going to continue to rise. Living standards are going to go down drastically. The paychecks of the middle class are going to be wrung dry to pay for entitlements for the aging boomers, and the poor, all the while those same workers will never be able to receive the same level of benefits when they are older. We have been fucked by our elders, and by our government. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  9. the cities don't "make" any significant amount of heat, they simply collect it, store it and radiate it longer than the surrounding environment the mass and color of the roads, sidewalks, building walls and roofs collect the heat all day and slowly radiate it for hours, just put your hand on a stone/brick wall a couple hours after the sun goes down and see how hot it is That is what I ment, I wasn't trying to suggest that the actual activity of the city was creating the heat. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  10. If you read the original post you will see that the OP's dz hasn't really done much to physically seperate swoop area from the regular pattern. Obviously a club with small AC will have an easier time managing a landing pattern that mixes different landing patterns. Was that the point? it isn't fool proof though! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  11. I don't think a 270 or a 180 belongs in the pattern. That being said I see way more lower jump individuals with no swoop coaching flying straight down the center of the Dz and then whipping a fast 180 riser turn at a low altitude. I see more people pulling 180s in the pattern after group jumps, and I see more swoopers pulling 270's electing to do low passes or clear and pulls. You wont find me claiming one is safer than the other! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  12. I agree, the major impact of an AC is moving heat from inside a structure to outside a structure. Sure they create some additional heat through friction and resistance, but it is minimal. Way more heat created by manmade structures, roads, driveways, buildings. Our cities are their own little heat islands! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  13. I posted this on another offroading website. Moab is a big 4x4 area too so I reached out to any locals. Hope they find him safe and sound soon. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  14. I think it is a little less ethical if they are giving a service or discount in return for a review. Review my dropzone and get a 10 dollar jump ticket has a little more influence than a sign that says "If you liked your experince we would appreciate a review". Just my 2 pesos. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  15. It is all about context, I assume that back then most immigrants learned and spoke some english. Slippery slope of implying the intent of the founders so literaly. Just because a language requirement was absence doesn't mean that the founding fathers would have been accepting of todays situation where some immigrants make no effort to learn english or become part of the "melting pot". Some of the founding fathers also considered blacks to be property, and women to be more fit for kitchen work than more intelectual exercises like voting. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  16. I don't think so, but.... that's just my opinion. There are many fatalities caused by (often sober) speeding drivers. Speed was apparently a factor in this case, in addition to alcohol. I would say tell that the people on the german highway ;) One the 3th Lane at the german highway you found people that drive 143 Miles per hour....some are faster(legal). That would be relevant only if he died on the Autobahn in a section where he could legally be going 143 miles per hour. The fact that people go 140+ mph hour on some road in some European country holds little relevance to some one going 50mph over the posted speed limit who turns himself into a second skin dressing for the tree he hit. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  17. Why is it a huge stretch. If you are driving much faster than the posted speed limit you are showing a real disregard for the saftey of those that share the road with you, and those whose homes are on those roads. I live on a country road 50mph speed limit. People routinely drive 20-50 mph above that posted limit on that road. Those drivers are certainly concerned with our saftey! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  18. Pilot openings are very soft. My Mamba openings are very soft too. My Hornet back in the day got out of trim and it would then whack you so hard your shins would hurt from your legs snapping around. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  19. Funny, my good friend growing up was from Mexico. He didn't speak a lick of english we he moved up here, but he became a fluent english speaker and speaks primarily in english unless he is speaking with some one who ONLY speaks spanish. He felt it was his responsibility. He must be a racist who hates Mexicans too. My grandfather who was shipped to England from Germany at age 12 to escape the Nazi's spoke only German. He learned English and continued speaking English when moving to the US and becoming a citizen. He must have been a racist and an antisemite who hated his German Jewish background. And if I ever move to China, or India, or South America I will learn the language of where I reside and I will speak make that language my primary one. I must be a racist that hates Americans. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  20. It would be our Lehman moment also, just part II. Our banks aren't sitting by on the sidelines watching with popcorn in hand, we are deep in this shit too. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  21. I grew up drinking whole milk, water, and OJ. I really didn't want soda. Girlfriends kids would DIE if all they had to drink was water, the girlfriend too. Yesterday she was out of drinks in the fridge... "we are dehydrating". Holy shit! There is really nice tasting water from our taps that come from our nice deep dug well. DRINK THE FREAKING WATER. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  22. Of course you can take a sledge hammer to the door, that isn't my issue. My issue is undetected entrance. Hard to miss a smashed door frame or a busted window. But how do you tell that your house was unlocked, entered, and then relocked if you had a key floating around out there. If you had an alarm or video monitoring you would know. It is a moot point, the fire department should learn how to bump a lock. They can save money on the stupid boxes, and save door frames and homeowners deductible $$$! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  23. The HOA rule, IMHO, is also descriminates against self employed blue collar workers and tradesmen. White collar workers only need one car, blue collar worker need a work truck, plus either a second car and secondary parking, or a garage. If I am a self employed tax preparer that does taxes at my clients houses and my work vehicle is a nice swanky BMW, I can park it at my residence. If I am a self employed roofer that own a F350 I need to buy a second car and figure out where to park my work truck. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  24. Sorry I seriously doubt they are as secure as you say. I could easily take a sledge hammer and knock those boxes off a building unless they are welded to a steel beam. Then I can pocket the sucker and take it some where else to break into at my own pace. A drill press or bandsaw would open that up like butter. My bigger issue is that a key can open a lock, and crelock it later on, with no indication that entry occured. If the cops or fire fighters need in my place I when I am not there I don't care if they kick in the door. After my deductible the insurance will cover it. Maybe my opinion would be different if had steel doors with quality locks and I was worried that they would have trouble getting in, but in my case it wouldn't take much to bust one of my doors down. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  25. Can't afford a garage, can't legally own a pickup truck. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
