  1. Shah, you trying to be an ambassador for our sport is probably the second worst development for skydiving since Skyride. Why don't you stick to trashing female engineering students and your other various misogynistic bullshit on the non-skydiving parts of the forum! This isn't speakers corner, or the bonfire, can you please keep your crap over there and stop trying to "inform" people when you still have so far to go yourself. 2. DAMN! I hope that wasn't one of my clients' airplanes, they are going to be PISSED. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    Genius!

I like when actual gun fans make fun of the mall ninjas! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  4. Put him in touch with your Attorney. Sounds like he has a work product ready to go. Should be cheaper than having a new attorney recreate the wheel. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  5. I think magnets would do a great job of keep the slider at the stops when packing. Think of the slider stow magnets doubled up with a regular slider stop in the canopy, and a matching set in the slider itself. Personally I think the regular way of bagging a pro-pack doesn't help either. I reverse fold my otherwise regular pro-pack, that means I am putting the fold with the slider in last and I can ensure it didn't work its ways down. 6. Gulp. Yeah I think she liked it lol. What is the back story, is that a first time student, repeat jumper, or a friend? Are you supplying the student goggles our of your own gear stash? My only thought was that I like the SORZ goggles better than the crap flexi goggles that most DZ's give students, but I thought the mirror tint takes away from their video a bit. I like to wear smoked glasses to take me out of the video, and have the student in clears! Cool video! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  7. I thought the same exact thing! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  8. Here in Connecticut it is very common to see signs that say "State Property: No Trespassing" on areas of forest or open space. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  9. Puhhhhhlease! Like the savages care. You may not be looking for a love interest at the DZ, but at most all you need is a pulse. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  10. DO NOT GO IN THE SWOOP POND! Fish and skydivers alike do the nasty in there! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  11. Most people I jump with express having a great time. They say they are totally coming back, and some do multiple times if we can't get them into a solo progression, but for others time and money gets in the way. Some aren't overly impressed, but they say that they were glad they made the jump, but they wouldn't jump again. I did have one 21st birthday boy whose girlfriend surprised him. He got sick under canopy while in the pattern and then we had a rougher landing to finish it off. We were both fine, but I felt pretty bad that he had to get sick and have a rough landing. That is the one reason I don't go out of my way to convince friends and family to jump unless they come to me first. 999 out of 1000 tandems go smooth, but there is always that slight chance that someone will hate it, or they might get injured. I don't want to talk some one in to it, and then have them get sick, or hurt. Their desire to jump, without my persuasion, needs to be enough for them to justify the risk. 12. Will he be happy with trip and fall type of insurance that doesn't cover jumping? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  13. "Twin otter doesnt give a shit, it just lands wherever it wants too." "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  14. Perfectly safe, after several 100 jumps and a few years of experience. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  15. This is a question for your lawyer and accountant. There will be legal outcomes, and tax outcomes for different business structures. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  16. I don't think it is a cheapskate issue Rob. The rigs are well maintained and have been back to Strong for re-certification. We are a 182 DZ that only jumps May - October, so they don't get a ton of jumps each season. It is economically sound to jump rigs that are in good condition instead of summarily grounding them because they aren't the next best thing. Well maintained DHT's are workhorses that get the job done safely. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  17. Good luck Tom in the new venture. I am chucking drogues on the other side of the Narraganset but I may have to come over to say hello and check things out.
  18. This is why I don't like people pulling out of formations. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  19. I can't afford one, and my DZO isn't going to spring for new rings anytime soon, but it looks real nice. I am trying to figure out what this means: http://www.strongparachutes.com/pages/Tandem/force.html "Another enhancement of the TNT is the H-style drogue attachment. This design keeps the drogue centered allowing a natural belly to earth position (instead of a head-down position like some systems) without the split sometimes seen with the Dual hawk." Split, what? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  20. SPAM Obviously. We should delete these three posts and get back on topic. Any luck getting any instructors. I haven't had a weekend free yet and it is bit of a drive from CT, but I am still trying to find a weekend to come down, maybe June 30th and July 1st? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  21. What sort of information? Our primary landing area is a short 1 minute truck ride from the airport but we sometimes land our tandems down by the runway depending on wind direction. If people are heads up there shouldn't be any issues, don't fly in front of the runway at the altitude that aircraft are coming in to land? We land near the middle portion of the runway, by that point all plane traffic is only feet off of the runway or is already wheels down. 22. Hey, I was there that day! Got you guys in my logbook. Without even looking, I recall it was a Wednesday, we got winded out, 30+ gusts - Houps got out the ParaCommander & hooked it to his truck hitch with a rope so we could kite that thing up! Got 25' in the air hanging from armpits in the harness, flailing the wooden toggles back & forth... (safety first). Damn fun! You are right, we were winded out for a while, but not for the entire day. I have to go back to my log book, but I thought we made a few jumps when the winds died down. I remember at least one pool noodle jump, hell that could have been the only one. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  23. Sit on the ground and knit then. He isn't the first student who panicked on a clear and pull, dearched and lost stability, and then did a rushed pitch. He won't be the last one to do it either. He didn't have his hand on his hackey on the step, he just rushed to pull when he should of focused on arching. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  24. Back in January 2008 Orange opened up the DZ to the UConn Collegiate skydiving team. We were weathered out in Florida and the south east, and it was the middle of the week when we started to slog our way back up to CT. They opened up for us in the middle of the week, found an otter pilot to show up, and had some club jumpers come out. The weather was pretty warm for VA in January so that helped! The jump tickets at the time were rediculously cheap, I can't remember if it was their winter club member price, or if they threw us a bone. Either way it was awesome. They let my grandfather fly right seat in the otter, he lives in the area and had come out to visit. After the day was over we were invited over some ones place for a BBQ. I need to go find my logbook to remember who, I remember on jumper whose nick name was Wingnut, and one of the individuals was a club board member at the time. I haven't had a chance to make it back but they will allways be at the top of my list for one of the coolest DZ's in the country! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  25. Those two store owners are definetly BAMF's! Hang him by his belt over the counter while the wife gets in a few face kicks. So awesome. Got a spanking in there too! Hell yeah. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
