You can trouble shoot if you have a multimeter that can test for continuity. It will be one of only three components most likely: 1. Hi temp limit unit 2. Thermostat unit 3. Actual heating element All of these are usually in a metal duct underneath the drier. Basically you need to take the wire connections off these items, and test across their two contacts. If there is continuity they are good, if it is an open circuit it is bad. I bet if you search by your model number on google there are repair videos on youtube, other threads, guides, etc. Good luck. Should we consider fat out of shape tandem students handicapped if they can't lift their legs? I don't have the experience right now to take handicapped passengers. And I would rather I not the take very elderly but fit which I consider to also be special care packages. I think both should be able to jump with the right TI. In my mind there is a big difference with a student that is going to be a lot of trouble not because they have a disability, or because they lived a long life, but instead they haven't done any exercise in the past decade. If given the choice I would rather students in this category go exercise and come back when they have achieved a better level of fitness. If I was the DZO the weight limit would be 200 for men, and lower for women. I would then only allow over that on a individual basis. 230 because your tall and fit fine, 230 shaped like a bowling ball and ready to ooze out the harness, not fine. I think the reduced liability from broken ankles and other injures would well offset the lost revenue. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

That is the thing you get hot tandem students to put their phone numbers and email addresses in. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

That right there is a indication of a problem! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I am guilty, and only a small number of times, but only because some one hands me a log book with something about me in it, with a smirk on their face. Like "hey Doug, come sign my log book", and then there is something about me crying, or sobbing, or funneling the formation. Some defamation that is all in good fun. So going along with the sentiment I draw a picture of said jumper performing fellatio or some other poorly drawn & somewhat offensive image. Normally some one did it to me first, so next time I sign their log book I return the favor. I would pick up someones log book and do that, that would be in poor taste and rather rude. Hybrid student progression with an IAD jump or two might help. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

This story comment on Mrs. Fall out of the Harness is mind boggling: Tom Christianson Best Drop Zone. Great Instructors, sorry she had a bad experience. Looks like she didn't follow instructions. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Absolutely, Heineken taste like skunky swamp water straight from the brewery, and then the green bottles don't help. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Sure, I can think of a few reasons why that would be a less the stellar idea. They could Spartan kick one of your handles. Spartan reserve PC out right over the horizontal stab sounds swell. Or they could Spartan kick you in the ribs and mess you up. Or they could misjudged and kick you in the crotch, hilarity would ensue. What exactly about getting kicked in the chest seems like fun to you? As far as the student goes, he or she needs to be focused on trying to remember how to get into the exit position, how to arch, as so forth. I wouldn't welcome your idea if it was one my student. No kidding. He must think that he is special. Personally if I could afford that car I would be very friendly to the officer, say thank you, have some chit chat, take my ticket and be on my way. I would then send the ticket to my lawyer to deal with it. I hope he ends up paying the parking ticket, and getting charged with assault on the PO. We have torn rotator cuffs, bruised faces, and dislodged handles doing random grip exits. Stuff as many people in the door, grip up like a game of twister gone bad, and roll out the door. One big extended funnel. It was and still is stupid, but it was fun at the time. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Sunday's report: USPA BOD meeting
DougH replied to MikeTJumps's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Those both sound like ways to get more money. There was already a point brought up somewhere on here (can't find the post off hand) that if they want to verify license applications are filled out correctly, they could do a courtesy check on it without issuing a license number. Why not allow FAI licenses for USPA ratings? Absolutely. If a jumper has a stamped card and a current membership, then that should get to be their license for as long as they please. Where is the issue here, other than USPA not getting more $$$. My first license with a number was my B. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
Too bad she didn't hit any of them. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I really enjoy my tandem log book entries. I have been using Skylog 3 log books that have a big half a page for each jump. My students typically write a whole ton about their jump, draw pictures, all types of cool stuff. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

That person must have a real good sense of humor, so they should totally see the humor of you beating them with a metal pipe. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

As a US citizen you get taxed on your WORLD WIDE INCOME. Why should it matter that they are athletes. They get to claim business expenses against the cash prize earnings, and most won't pay any taxes unless they fail to report expenses. I am almost choking on the irony of people are bitching that the rich should pay more taxes, and then in the same breath they state that the like of Phelps should pay no taxes because he is good at swimming in a pool. I have been reading and researching a little more this morning. Some of the other videos on the web look real nice, especially the ones where they are putting them on rc helicopters. Is the BOSS so fundamentally different from the previous OSS that is now an asset, when the OSS would previously make the camera un-jumpable? Any more feedback. I am in the market for a new camera. How big is this camera compared to the CX100 series? I need to buy a replacement cam but I have been holding off a bit because I was never thrilled with the CX series video. It always looked shaky compared to video from the older and now obsolete PC series. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Can we start a petition, or maybe stage a walk out? Plan one isn't working, one trick pony would post on an empty forum just to read its own keyboard diarrhea! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Weather sucked this weekend in CT. We got 7 tandems off the ground before it was unsuitable for tandems, of which I jumped two. I played dope on a rope, or more accurately dope with another dope holding his pilot chute, for a friend who was working on his IAD rating. I jumped the student rig with the Pilot 188 for that, which was amusing after only having jumped tandems and my 104 for the past few hundred jumps. Toggle pressure was bizzare but I reminded me of why I loved the Pilots for so many of my earlier jumps. I even got it to swoop a bit, but I don't think I would make a habit of that, the turn altitude was ass puckering low! I do think I might get a pilot 140 or 150 to put in my spare rig, it would be real nice the have a lightly loaded rig for RW, camera, fun stuff where the 104 is less appropriate.

Do you have to spam every thread with your misogynistic crap? Originally I thought if we ignored him he might go away. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Male or female? No I wouldn't, I don't want them sweating on the harness and on me and my jumpsuit. As it is I started wearing under armor type shirts so that I can dry out a quickly on the climb to altitude, and there isn't a sweaty cotton t-shirt of mine against the back of their harness on hookup. Considering the protests that the students had when the University suspended Paterno from playing in a football game it is apparent to me at least that many of the current Penn State students are more concerned about football than they are about child molestation. I would have felt more sympathetic for them if they didn't act like a bunch of asses. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
