  1. Why is it silenced? I mean it's considerate towards the neighbours and all to dispose of your burglars without noise, but wouldn't an ongoing burglary one of those occasions in which you actually would want to wake the neighbours? Just making a wild ass guess but it would be nice to not loose your hearing if forced to shoot inside. I would have to assume that it would make follow up shots more easy to handle if your ears weren't ringing like crazy. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  2. Ask an intelligent question, increase you chances of getting an intelligent answer. Whuffo you pack concealed heat. Whuffo you jump out plane. Whuffo you bang my wife. I carry concealed carry because I have the legal right to do so, and I like the fact that I can legally, discretely, and quick get access to a weapon to defend myself at a moments notice. It is a huge responsibility but it also causes me very little inconvenience in my day to day life, mainly I won't have that one beer while eating out if I am carrying, and I need to be mindful of avoiding places I can't carry legally (schools, federal buildings). Like any other special tool it is nice to have when you are faced with a situation that requires it. Further in my state in order to even own a handgun you need have have a pistol permit that also gives you the right to carry concealed. 3. That is a common law concept right, statute of frauds or something of that description? All contracts greater than 1 year in length, or dealing with real estate, need to be in writing. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  4. When is the last time an average citizen needed to penetrate a car door in a self defense situation? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  5. Ah yes, the unsubstantiated accusations. While we are at it, lets talk about whether or not Obama is a U.S. citizen.... Unsubstantiated? Romney doesn't deny having accounts in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands. Bermuda too, IIRC. When has Mitt said that he has all of his money in those accounts? He has money invested everywhere, and a large amount of it is in the US. You can have bank accounts over seas, you pay US income tax on them if you are a US citizen. I guess it is unpatriotic to diversify to protect your worth. The real irony is the people who keep spouting this nonsense while have the shit they own was cheap ass crap made in China. 6. First, no most normal people don't full grasp the risk. I get students that constantly spout shit like being safer that the driving in the car statistically. I openly tell my passengers that on average there are not many injuries and deaths per total number of jumps, but that on our jump we could end up dead or injured in a way that causes us to be permanently disabled. Second, it is one more legal protection, not an infomercial. When the ambulance chasing lawyer makes a claim that despite the waiver their customer didn't know the risk because the manifest girl told them that it is safe, your legal team can play this video for the jury and show that it was made very clear that the activity is not safe. I don't blame UPT for having this video, tandem instructors that underplay the danger aren't make it any easier for them. Stop telling stupid shit like "hey it is safer than driving". 7. No one needs to lighten up, did you have something useful to add. There are plenty of other parts of this website where you can pile up off-topic horseshit replies. Bad enough we have Shaw doing it in the technical topic forums, but now we have Shaw groupies posting what Shaw might post. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  8. Most start-ups that provide people with good wage earning middle class jobs do. The food truck, daycare, lawn business owner are all providing earnings for themselves, and maybe some lower end hourly wage positions, they aren't creating 50k+ jobs that offer benefits. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  9. who get a loan to start the business from rich people Rich folks send their money to Switzerland or the Cayman Islands. Most loans come from banks, where the middle class deposit their money. Rich people send their money all over, US banks, US equities, Foreign equities, precious metals, foreign banks. Please provide evidence that rich people put a majority of their savings overseas. I won't hold my breath because you can't. I guess you're regularly a angel investor for US start-ups, especially ones cooked up by middle class people. 10. FTE are almost always limp wristing. I would put my money on the way she is holding the gun, and anticipating the recoil. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  11. We do both, and it is a win win and works very well. Everyone watches the video and then gets the waiver. The video is extensive and goes over all phases of the jump. I get my students and I test what they recall from the video. "Do you remember the banana, ballerina, shrimp from the video?" I ask them what that is, and why we have them do it. Then I explain to them an arch, how it is a neutral body position, and show them how I arch. Then I get them on the creeper and get them building the muscle memory. We discuss the exit and hook up before hopping on the truck, and once more before getting on the plane. I think it is excellent. It helps them take in more of my personal training because they have already been introduced to the concepts, and I get a chance to test them. Then my training clarifies and corrects. Also in the rare times that I am told to drop the rig in the field and meet the student at the truck they at least have some idea of what is going on, and I am not starting from scratch when I explain things before boarding the plane. 12. HAHA John! RTFM... read the fucking manual. But somehow I think you knew what that acronym ment, and you were just being facetious lol. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  13. I will politely remove my post after you politely tell us who you are and why you are asking these questions. Further, maybe you can ask more than one question at a time instead of spamming the forun with 10 threads at a time, this isn't a notepad designed especially for you and your little stream of consciousness web games. Otherwise ... shut up and jump. Hopefully after last rant the responses to your questions will come to a halt. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  14. Apparently were not the only website he has pulled this on: http://www.thedieselstop.com/forums/f10/forum-name-change-suggestion-e-series-bravestdog-forum-20456/ "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  15. Some one is off their meds! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  16. Because a reporter, lawyer, etc should be open and upfront about who they really are. We all should have the right to know who is asking questions. The reason why someone is asking a question is pretty damn important. Context! Some people may not want to feed information to an outsider, especially one that isn't upfront about their motives. 17. That doesn't matter to me. Popping hot during the season because of prior use still reflects a serious error in judgement. I have never been a regular user of pot, but I am not some straight edge that hasn't used it ever either. I know that any pot usage during the season or even a few months before the season could cause me to pop hot. I would never jump impaired but the above also means that I completely abstain from any pot smoking at all during the season when I am jumping tandems, and even months before. I have had a tandem student or two offer to give me a bag of sticky icky for a tip, and although it is tempting you have to stay the course! If you can't do that you open yourself and the DZO up to legal liability in the event of an accident. I am not willing to subject myself or the DZO to that risk. Personal rule number 1, never to break. Never jump impaired, chemically, physically, mentally. That means no morning mimosas, no hangovers, no jumping after serious emotional event. Personal rule number 2. Never appear to jump impaired. Nothing that will show up on a test after an accident. Nothing to make your student think that you may have had too much of something the night before. If the legal landscape on changed I would change my position to some degree. But right now a joint the week before causes me to break rule number 2. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  18. Jimmy is such a diplomat! I think we need to do a weakest link contest on here now and then. I might be one of the early shmucks voted off the island, but I am willing to take that chance for the common good. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    Text books

Good for your Professor, I have a lot of respect for that position. Not only are they over priced but the industry is full of crooked business practices. Entry level texts are updated with new editions each year when the majority of the subject matter stays the same. The professors always require the newest edition which has no new content, just a few new pictures, and the assignment bank is rewritten to cause an issue for students that bought used second hand copies. Crooks! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  20. Because your sense isn't common. Shut up and jump cupcake. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  21. Don't feed the troll. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  22. No I don't disagree at all, your the shit dude. Like I said they could really benefit from your vast experience. I am peeing my pants over here because you responded to something that I typed with my own two hands. We can totally draw an analogy between your few back-fly sitfly jumps and a level 1 AFF jump with a very fast falling student. Those are totally the same exact situation. Winning! Just so we have a frame of reference, you have made X number of AFF jumps as an instructor, X number of instructor jumps in general? I just want to give you a hand pricing your AFF consulting fees.
  23. You should go to that DZ and show them how it is done. They would be for ever in your debt for sharing your huge amounts of internet skydiving experience. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

    Rug Burn.

That reminds me of a move I thought up in college, at the time I liked to call it the Vacuum Cleaner. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
