I didn't judge or imply that, I asked a question, and you are reading to much in to it. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Not to be a prick, but did either of those individuals return to a functioning life? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Heres what I went with... Yeah, that was a terrible idea Why are you dredging up old posts? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

The infamous hand "snivel". Not that funny... I've had a couple TMs do that to me, while being a long way out with hardly any wind. Resulting in a couple out landings for me. Including one hairy situation where I pulled straight after the tandem because i knew we were way out and I was going to have a lot of trouble making it back. Turned out i had a pretty violent spinning mal, plus the TM wanted to chop too because of linetwist. He couldn't, because I was spinning underneath him. He managed to get out of the twists, I chopped and landed 2 villages away. He did make it back to the DZ. By the time I had hitched a ride back, I got chewed out by the passenger's boyfriend for not getting the landing on video. teamwork

Quote Another good one is when the TI is upset for whatever reason, exits perfectly belly to relative wind, reaches back for the drogue and pulls out the bird.... THEN throws the drogue. [/reply OK... THAT is one I haven't seen before. I would totally get off frame, I would be laughing to hard! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Health Premiums Up $3,000; Obama Vowed $2,500 Cut
DougH replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
I already did above. The ACA has provisions that added additional cost to health insurance companies, those costs get passed on in the form of premium increases. It is pretty simple! Do you think it is free to insure people with preexisting conditions. Or mandate that insurers keep peoples freeloading "children" on employers plans well into their adult life? The shareholder profits argument doesn't pan out. Mutual insurance companies, where the owners are the policy holders, have seen similar increases. This isn't additional profit taking, this is addition of costs. What do you think will happen to the cost of primary health care, at the provider level, when all these people with their new free government health care start looking for doctors. I can give you a hint, it won't decrease the cost, increase in demand doesn't normally do that! The insurance companies are only passing along costs. In general that is how insurance works. The problem is further down the line, in the form of drug companies, medical device manufacturers, doctors, hospitals. The way we provide healthcare in this country needs to be drastically changed! Great example of hospitals gone wild. The father of my Mothers brother in law (Uncle by marriage) was rather sick and in intensive care during his last days. My uncle reviewed the massive bill that was being sent to medicare and included a ton of wasteful procedures and tests, doctors do this just to cover their ass from lawsuits. In the last of needless cost was some coding for a Gyno. Rather interesting that a dying old man would need a OBGYN. EMR systems have automated questions that pop up during a regular check up that have little medical benefit, but by asking them Doctors get to charge a higher rate. No value, more costs. Health Premiums Up $3,000; Obama Vowed $2,500 Cut

Sorry TK, I should have put more in there. I know your position on not offering health care, and given the costs involved I totally understand. I was just being a ball buster. In general I agree that we need some serious cost control. I don't think those have to be based on a primarily socialized system. The ACA did little if not nothing at all that would contribute to meaningful cost control. All it did was add a bunch of demand to the system. Health Premiums Up $3,000; Obama Vowed $2,500 Cut

Premiums have risen because there a provisions in Obama Care that have raised costs for insurance companies. He is directly responsible for the increase in premiums. Those new costs are getting passed on to policy holders, wow who didn't see that coming. If a 200 dollar per flight FAA fee gets put in place is your business going to eat the cost, or are you going to pass it on to jumpers? You do provide health care for all your workers at ZHills right TK? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
God DAMN. Talk about the abuse just getting piled on! No cutaway on the round? I guess it could have been a number of factors that made the guy ride it out. Operator malfunction. Unconscious operator. Equipment malfunction. He got dragged like crazy, but it looked like he avoided some more body breaking impacts on some of those oscillations! 727 deliberate crash in Mexico April '12
DougH replied to kuai43's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have heard a story of someone who tried to close the door for a pilot who gave the jumpers a "fly away" load. He got his foot stuck in the door and was in a real sticky situation until he managed to get free! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
Guess what, your premiums are going to continue to get higher, the same "deadbeats" who have been skipping on medical bills are going to continue to take resources from the system without contributing to it. Overall, the middle class individuals who are going to get hit by this tax weren't the ones that were skipping out on medical bills. They were young people, small business owners, independent contractors; that overall consumed little healthcare, and made their own decision that they budgets didn't allow for health insurance. I don't know where we got this stupid fucking idea that having everyone insured reduces costs, it doesn't, it raises costs because there is more demand, it just spreads it around. Enjoy your premium increases, because they are just getting started. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

The refund check is also a contributor for future spiraling costs. Good job current administration. Way to further fuck up an already fucked system! PS. health care costs in MA still continue to grow at some of the highest growth rates in the nation. Great model for NoBama, Governor Twitt. Instructional Tandem? Advice needed!
DougH replied to stringtheorygal's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Sit in a full ground school. Have a dive flow with thr instructor. Hopefully pull, and ask for instructions on canopy flight. I would be thrilled to have more students that want that level of involvement! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
Insurance brokers warning to DZO's/Plane owners

Has there really been 11 aircraft collisions between jump planes and skydivers wearing wing-suits last year? That sounds absolutely absurd. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P -
PLF'd a tandem the other day due to some funky turbulence. That was fun, thank goodness it was a smaller young guy, and not some pear shaped 80 year old grandma. We got the nice hand of god phantom lift on the last part of my final, and where there is lift there is fall. I told the student to put his feet down and bend his knees, and I did the same behind him. Sure glad I did that instead of continuing the tell him legs up legs up legs up. It was actually a picture perfect PLF, well except for me getting my throat slammed into the students shoulder. We hit, absorbed some energy with our legs, rolled to the side and absorbed the rest. All is well that ends well! I am pretty sure it would have hurt like a son of a bitch if we took that landing on our butts instead of disappointing the force! You could look at it that way. You could also look at the incident to see that it is demonstrably untrue that gun bans keep shoot rampages from occurring. NYC has very restrictive guns laws, and yet this somehow happened. Damn guns, refusing to follow the law! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

You can deduct sales tax, or you can deduct state income tax and property tax. People don't want to be bothered with the record keeping required to support a sales tax itemized deduction. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
