  1. Terrorists don't apply for gun permits... this is unthinkable! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  2. You have a decent loading on the 140, you claim that you're not swooping, so why the desire to switch over to a full elliptical? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  3. That sucks! Was this on a tandem jump? Hope he mends fast. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  4. Thanks JS! Is the red cable obtainable in small lots? What are the specific specs for the material that should be used as cutaway cable. I seem to remember that the yellow cable is made by Loos and Co. here in CT. I only vaguely remember that because they are 5 minutes from my house. I have to check my cutaway handle to see if my cable can be replaced, or if a whole new handle would be needed, but it is worth considering. Edit: This was a thread back from 2005 that had Bill Booth's input as well. I thought it might be nice to have a link in here. 5. After all that time are you building your own, or have you zero'd in on a specific one that some one makes. I think you recomendation would hold a good deal of weight after all of the jumps under them! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  6. They shouldn't be charged, but they would, and the citizen would bear the burden of paying for legal defense to get it thrown out. Same thing if the citizen has "illegal" items in the house. Arrested, confiscated, and items destroyed. Call the lawyer, post bail. The system is stacked against the accused. The state is already paying their prosecutors and DAs. They incur no extra cost or interruption to their lives! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  7. I actually brought this up on facebook, and I had a few friends who are in the Boston area tell me that they would be glad if the police illegally wrenched them from their homes to conduct a forced search. The argument was that the bomber could be inside keeping them hostage. I was also labeled a nutter, and told to be more supportive of the police! Personally I think people have trained themselves to roll over. The mindset is that you have to give in to everything to support the cause! I think it is unacceptable. Having the suspicion of a terrorist in the AREA, should not justify searching every residence, especially without giving residents the option to say yes or no. That is a huge difference from receiving a tip that the suspect is in a specific house, or a neighbor calling in concern that the residents in another house was in danger. 8. The problem is that you regurgitate second hand information without including necessary information that is vital in the context of what you are spewing. Your blanket statement that going without line stows is entirely acceptable is a stupid fucking comment, unless you have the common sense to inform your audience that you still need a way to contain the lines to avoid potentially fatal problems like lines hitching on closing flaps or closing loop anchors. You aren't impressing anyone here that knows anything with your posts, and your far from helping anyone that doesn't have enough knowledge to know better. I personally think your just out to entertain yourself, but maybe you should stop and think about the fact that you half assed posts could put other newbies at risk. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  9. I saw that too, but I like the extra protection afforded by a camera box. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  10. Thanks everyone! This is awesome information. I was searching around on RRS website, and came across this. http://reallyrightstuff.com/ProductDesc.aspx?code=MPR-73-3/8ths&type=0&eq=&desc=MPR-73-3%2f8ths%3a-73mm-MPR-3%2f8th-threaded Looks like it will be an awesome way to swap the CX760 and box between by Optik Illusion, and the new fully duty camera helmet, depending on the jumps I plan on doing. The RSS stuff is $$$ but I absolutely love the clamp that I am currently using for my stills. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  11. Definitely something to consider! BH advertises a riser slap resistant release. I wonder if this an upgrade that they put on the helmets after users lost a bunch of them? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  12. If I mounted the XSI on the front porch I would have plenty of room for the cx760 on the top. You can always add the wider top plate after the fact right? You are talking about a plate that overlaps the sides of the helmet right? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  13. I am sure this has been discussed a number of times, and I am doing some serious searching. That being said if you had to build your setup again, today in 2013, which camera helmet would you go with and why? I would really appreciate the input before I drop 700+ on a new helmet! I have out grown my Bonehead Optik Illusion that I was previously side mounting a PC350 in a box, and top mounting my Rebel Xsi on with a RSS setup. The PC350 gave up the ghost and I am long overdue in a video upgrade so I bought a Cx760 and had a box made by Exit Equipment. I would like to mount both of the camera horizontally on the top of the helmet, which is going to take some real estate! I know I have seen flat top pro's with a still camera shelf off the front. Is that preferable to have both camera on top? It looks like it will clear up a lot of the space issue, but it looked like it could have some negatives too, mainly the extra weight cantilevered off the front! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  14. Greg has got that one just about covered. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  15. DZ is using the Sony Movie Studio Platinum. I am going to try to avoid editing for work at all costs, and I don't think they want me editing either. This is going to be for all of the boxes of mini-dv tapes that I hope to finally capture, and all of the new footage I hope to get with my new CX760. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  16. I noticed that there was a huge price difference between these two products. Are they in the same family of software? I wasn't sure if Sony Movie Studio was a watered down version of Vegas Pro that was aimed at more basic users, or if it was really a totally different software. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  17. I don't know why your instructor used that explanation, and I wasn't there. Line twists happen for a larger number of reasons, one being, shit happens. Main canopies malfunction a percentage of the time. It isn't a regular event, but it happens, which is the reason for the cutaway system, and the reserve. There is no fault to assign, and no reason to assign fault even if there was any. I wouldn't pick it apart any further than that. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  18. I think that crash had a lot to do with a security threat. Someone was hacking the site that issued bitcoins AFAIK. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  19. Fine... every gun bought on the internet is "always sent" to an FFL. And then in some circumstances people who can pass a background check pick up the gun from the FFL and later illegally sell or give them an ineligible person (gang banger minor nephew that needs "protection", ex con felon, etc). You have solved what exactly by changing "usually" to "every"? Do you honestly believe that the thugs in Chicago that are turning the place into Mogadishu are buying their guns online at gunbroker.com. If only these pesky criminals would follow all these laws we toiled so hard to come up with!!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  20. Actually a back flow preventer isn't a bad idea. You can get the hose to siphon backwards from the pool into the house. I don't think it could happen on city water, but not unheard of with a well. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  21. Thanks perfesser John... I am just fine. I am a bit worried about you though, considering that my post consisted of ONLY a link, and a statement about car ignitions, and here you are conjuring up some invisible argument. There was no argument, I was keeping with Quade's news article theme for the day. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  22. I thought I already addressed that... I was only trying to keep with today's news story theme. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  23. I thought we were talking about pools and stupid parents. I think you're in the wrong thread. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  24. I would blame stupid parents and supervising adults that don't shut the gates, but that is just me. Marco..... Polo.... "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  25. Not a bad idea if they pitched a safety course for the pool owners, and pool gates. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
