  1. And? This is the original factory mod to the suit, and how the handles worked in that mod. Perhaps doing away with access altogether is the thought in the instance shown in the OP's question.
  2. I divide my time between the two apps maybe...80/20. It's important I stay on top of what MS doesn't have, and even though I try...occasionally I forget. ingest/output are identical with two major diff. MS doesn't read/decode RED files without hacking the internal settings, and it doesn't read/decode ARRI Raw files. Then again...if you're shooting these cams, Movie Studio isn't going to be your tool of choice. Output options, Pro has some additional templates but all the render features of Pro are available in MS (excepting RED and ARRI output). You know that you can split events, apply various speeds, and somewhat create the look of velocity envelopes? It can't be ramped, but it can be stepped.
  3. My experiences with the above companies/manufacturers have been equally terrific. I'd only add Chutingstar to that list.
  4. That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard (and it apparently never occurred to that DZO that there's a reason we don't jump capewells any more). It may be easy to unzip a jumpsuit under routine conditions, but it may be very difficult or even impossible under a malfunction that might be flinging the jumper around like a rag doll or one that is spinning so rapidly that it's tough to even reach up with an arm. Beyond that, cutaway and reserve handles are EMERGENCY handles. The vast majority of the time, they are needed at the worst possible moment - the bottom of the skydive when the jumper is under the greatest amount of stress and has the least amount of time to take action. It makes ZERO sense to intentionally create a condition under which those handles are more difficult or time-consuming to use. https://vimeo.com/38615978
  5. We were promised an SB on this matter; it never materialized. Your post hints at a manufacturer-designed response to this issue, is it forthcoming? There are pictures of a well-known wingsuit pilot flying this suit at Perris with no thumbloops and no handles, so it makes one wonder if there is a manufacturer-designed mod yet?
  6. I have filmed/posted the BOD meetings from Orlando and Phoenix; it's a lot of work but it does let the membership see/hear what's happening out there (even if it is post-event). The governance manual doesn't say anything about it one way or another. I believe that arrangements have been made to take video of the open session and post it to the web as has been done in the past.
  7. There are some DZ's that allow jumpers to have non-accessible reserve and cutaway handles. Unzip the zipper and reach in there. As one DZO commented "It's less of a challenge than flipping open a pair of Capewells."
  8. Thinking of Ken tonight. Seems impossible that he's been gone for 2 years. He is gently remembered.
  9. I'm sure there are a lot of ladies that would like to see Normiss' naked boobies in all their post-whore glory.
  10. Thread hidden at Lambert's suggestion, permission.
  11. DSE is using Vegas 11 Pro, you're using Vegas 11 Movie Studio. They're similar, but not the same product (or price! LOL) That's where your confusion is occurring. ;-) DSE uses both (and wrote the book on both). They use the same render template structures. FWIW, we spent a little time on the phone a couple nights ago, and got everything copacetic.
  12. Lambert, apparently I was misinformed that you were given free software. I do know I've shared quite a bit of phone time with you on the subject of video, and like everyone else I've done phone time with in this community, it was a freebie, opposed to the paid phone support my company does for software distributors. You gotta admit, it seemed "off" to see you posting a review of someone else' product when you've gotten a lot of phone support from me, some of it at the cost of a load I skipped in order to help you out. Either way, I publically apologize, I apparently was misinformed and made an error.
  13. didn't consider the "door" position, it's another really good training method, and helps prevent the cup. We also do this on the instructor's shoulders. Thanks for the pix! That third one of the hands is really great. More people need to fly the Indy so they understand the "cupped arm" doesn't work so well.
  14. Since you are paid/incentivized to promote this product that is a direct ripoff (even the architect of the product admitted he stole the concept and features from another product used in the skydiving world), we'll just leave this thread as it stands. It's sad to see a skydiver steal from another skydiver. But, it's not the first time, and I'm sure it won't be the last.
  15. Why do you want him to put a nickle in his cup holder? Payment to the universe for services rendered.
  16. Glad it worked out. Please drop a nickel in your DVD tray.
  17. you can go into computer management and assign the drive that holds the files, as a G Drive, or you can re-assign the locations by opening the project file in Notepad and re-allocating/pointing the project drive to its correct letter ID.
  18. SWEET! secret society! can we have code names and leave obscure but easy to find clues everywhere? and a secret treasure protected by ridiculous booby traps! so......you're saying your boobies are ridiculous? I'd prefer to refer to them as a treasure.
  19. This whole skymama/normiss/missbrz thing is confusing me; they all have the same IP? I propose that Skymama, Normiss, and MissBrz all post pictures of their boobies (smiles included). This way, we'll all know who is who. If nothing else, we'll have some major uncoverage.
  20. She still owes Billvon and I a spanking. I'm starting to think Skymama is a sockpuppet for Mark, because I've met him.
  21. Is there any chance you're turning off the camera before the recording is finalized? I see this from time to time, people get antsy and shut off the camera immediately after stopping the record. These small cams don't buffer like the bigger ones do, and it will always corrupt the file if this happens.
  22. 1-FOV=Field of View (how wide the lens sees) DOF=Depth of Field (depth of focus point within that field of view. FOV and DOF aren't related in terms of this discussion 2. A narrower FOV will reduce what you see in the frame, ie; hands, ringsights, etc. A narrower FOV also provides for a more saturated image, but this is related to the compression software in a specific camera, not the FOV itself.
  23. The Indy is an outstanding suit to begin wingsuit flight. It's also a fine suit for *most* flocking, unless you're flying with guys in big suits that genuinely know how to fly em. You might try this; Put down a creeper. Lie down on it so that your chest is over the "Y" usually used for legs. Put your head, palms up/back of hands and toes on the ground. Inhale deeply, hold it for a moment, exhale slowly. Let your body relax. Sink into the creeper. Try to fall asleep on the creeper. It's really that relaxed. In reality, the wind will push your arms farther back than they'll be when on the creeper. The bigger goal is to discover the relaxation. This is the position you want to fly. You do want the arms extended out, not pulled inward. You also want the tail spread. However, your arms and legs are merely a relaxed framework for the wings. If you are rigid and forcing the wing/tail to be as tight as possible, you're like a rock skipping on water and eventually you'll go unstable and fall out of the sky. If you potato-chip, it's the result of wind hitting your chest and then the tail as your body rocks. Bringing the knees and head slightly down will help create stabiilty (position you're in on the creeper while relaxed. Keeping your head low (as it was on the creeper) will help create stability; this suit does well with a steeper angle. Look at your toes. Think about breathing slowly while you fly. The attached illustration might help a bit. Notice the flatness of the chest/pelvis area.
  24. April 1 has already passed...
  25. Thanks Strat, for keeping people informed on what's real and what isn't. Letter(s) to FAA sent from here. Many people thought this was a NOPRM here, too. I'm glad you made it clear.
