HC9 fits in any box that will hold an HC3/5/7
  3. I *still* can't get a straight answer, other than "it's supposed to" from Sony Austin. But...I have 14 dives on an SR12, and no problems 'yet.'
  4. "Several people my ass." Someone more astute than I noted that you have two logins (Utahwingsuiters and Utahwingsuiter) Perhaps it's in the "other" account where "all your deleted PM's" might be found. You accused me of doing something that technically cannot be done by a moderator. If you're wrong in that accusation, what other assumption or accusation could you be wrong about? I believe the personal problem is yours, and it's likely something that a face-to-face discussion would cure. It might also clarify why your DZO asked someone else to teach a wingsuit course at the DZ. You know what they say about ass/u/me-ing...
  5. That makes little sense. If you have a CX7, you have a 37mm thread. A .3 or a .5 will not vignette unless you've added a thread ring to downsize.
  6. I'm aware of the stabilizer issues on a 90/100 series, and of course they concern me. I've got two pseudo high-speed exits (powered back up after jump run cut, but not reaching speed) but looking to see if anyone has done more than one or two. What I'm looking for is likely is empirical data, vs what people assume, or math might suggest.
  7. Anyone ever done a high-speed from a King?
  8. Hey...haven't you won some music awards? The women are going to look at you in a whole new way now. um...ummm.....stepped into that one, didn't I? Yeah, for the record, I can trill and flutter with the best of em. Part of my signature sound But that doesn't make me sexy, it just makes me a unique.....player of the flute
  9. But flautists have stronger tongues, and if they're any good, they can flutter/trill.
  10. You "suspect" wrong, and assume incorrectly. I'm not a moderator in that forum which means I can't move/delete/edit in that forum, and no moderator can see, let alone delete your Private Messages, nor can they delete them, with the exception of (maybe) HH. Thanks for editing the post though. Personal attacks against anyone, including a moderator aren't tolerated.
  11. Canon's is worse. It's only going to be a bad issue in heavily burbled situations like sitflying... Canon has the best optical stabilizers out there, and in this case...best isn't best, IMO. The only time I see any chunking between the optics of the CX7 are when I'm flying either incredibly aggressively below/looking up/knee flying a tandem moving fast, or in a sitfly. I don't do HD, but I have seen great HD footage from the CX.
  12. Not as crushed as I, Sparky With that shock of white hair...ladies swoon at your feet. I've seen it happen.
  13. Hopefully someone can tell us that the Motel 6 (closest place to DZ) isn't a total hole? No one at the DZ could/would offer input about quality of lodging in the area.
  14. Virtually all of the flash-based cams have OIS...meaning the shake is inherent in certain flying situations. There are methods that have been discussed here about gluing down the stabilizer controllers, Armatos allegedly does it, but I've had a camera there for a couple months now... There is one guy working on a tutorial on how to do this, but I haven't seen a finished product yet.
  15. were it me..I'd plan on usin the EWA (pronounced "eh-va") bag, putting the cam in there after deployment. Ewa does have a more costly back with a tripod coupler, but I wouldn't want to jump it. With the Ewa, you could easily manage it after you landed, and then film approaches. Just plan on dumping a little high so you can get it into the bag and attached to the lens. You'll be able to film your approach and the approach of others once you've done that.
  16. Manfrotto has lots of great tools for unique mounts, including monster clamps.
  17. you said it well. We pay *very* well. One 19 y/o kid made nearly 55k last year, working not much more than part time. It's not easy work and requires deadline-based performance. He left to work at Costco, because it has fixed and fewer hours. He loves the two-three weeks off, but hates the 10 day power stretches we get into. Can't bother to respond to email, phone calls, text messages until his car insurance or rent is due. Then it becomes a flurry of phone calls with "Whatcha got for me?" Most kids (and many adults) today have shit work ethic. We're always looking for good people, BTW But part of what we do is to perpetuate the MTV star-look and lifestyle.
  18. Most cameras are 1/4-20 or 3/8-16. Go to the hardware store with your camera, grab some bolts and start to thread them. Just noticed you're in the UK, and I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know if you guys have metrics on your cameras or not.
  19. for handcam, yes... for much of anything else...no. I have one, I don't use it for handcam as I'm not a TI, but do enjoy it for some ground uses.

  21. I feel stupid having to ask this...but what kind of wheel is there for a Dremel tool that can cut .25" aluminum? Or is there one? I need to modify a piece of aluminum so it holds a second flash, and don't have the proper tools to do it right. A local shop was gonna do it, but they let it sit and I need to get this on line. I'm trying to cut a slot in the metal, so that I can have a slideable bolt/nut allowing me to move the bracket back and forth by a couple of inches. No...I don't have a good set of cutting tools, just a couple of high speed dremel tools. suggestions?
  22. A-if no one has ever done it *there* before, it's a record. B-If it gets him funding (even if everyone has done it) it's a record. C-the media may have made that up for him. That recently happened to me. Reporter put worms in my mouth.
  23. over an hour, depending on the bitrate selected.
