So are Aerostore and Square One. GravityGear is a good reseller as well.

Raynox distributor has been backordered on a couple Raynox lenses I've got on oder. I suppose it's possible that the manufacturer ran short on components or raw material.

89 jump experience + tandem=scary. This one (same guy) is worse, IMO. He knows it too; the normal speed shows him slamming the tandem, the slo-mo repeat edited it out.

Keeps locking up Safari...

If you can't, drop me a note at my personal addy... I might be of some assistance. Phree is also an expert at data recovery. We have fairly extensive data recovery software that wasn't cheep...it can rebuild large RAIDS relatively fast, if you call a coupla days "fast." Quite often on the cheap "bookshelf" drives, the power supply, logic system are what take a dump, but the drive itself is often fine and so you can jerk the drive out, grab a Weibetec harness, and Xfer everything before putting the drive in another housing.

didn't you hear? 'Puters that run Windows on a Mac are for losers. JT, you can't REFORMAT, but rather convert from FAT to NTFS. You CAN usually recover all files from a destroyed drive, however. Data recovery is pretty solid these days.

Cuz Sebastian over Xmas is gonna be more fun, and sooner?

Congrats to you and the new team members wearing the new colors. Very happy for you.

And boy...do they like to jump!

I guess you weren't around during the Pepperell Boogie when Jeff's, Justin's, and Scotty's MacBook Pro, all running Leopard or Tiger, could not output to the projector, but my MacBook Pro running Bootcamp and Windows XP could. It only took those guys 2 hours to finally give up. I think it took my MacBook 1 min, including reboot to get the drivers to see the projector. Or that there are three very large event videos that have been shipped over to us, because the owners of the video shoot AVCHD and HDV, and Apple support of shared HDV files and AVCHD files is pain-filled, very slow, and prone to lockups. Scotty B (terrible Macolyte) just switched to a PC because he sees how easy it is to ingest, share, and edit content. No more fighting, its just about getting down to work. I love some of my Mac stuff, and the laptops are the sexiest in the world. Our software division hates that we support Mac because we can't easily code to certain protocols, vs the PC where it's much easier/cost effective. we sell more to Mac users because they need the tools we develop more than PC users. They're all just tools. Hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, razorblades, and power saws. Phil, I KNOW you're a good editor. Anytime you wanna challenge me to an edit-off with you in FCS and me in the editor of my choice on a Windows platform...In fact, ANY NLE on the Windows platform.... Back to JT's problem. JT, (whether Apple or PC), drives are measured in values of 1000, vs 1024. This is a throwback to the 'old days' when it was all about kilobytes and 1000 bytes was the abbreviation for actual Kb. With todays big drives...once you hit for example, 1000 megabytes, the difference in the missing 24 bytes means that the drive truly measures 73MB smaller than it might be listed. ie; drive listed as a 1000MB drive, but in truth only has storage of 927MB. The bigger you go, the more obvious/apparent it is. In short, it's measuring decimal vs binary. All of the HDD manufacturers were stung by this measurement system in February, 2008, when a court ruling against all of them said they have to change their measurement system for marketing purposes. http://www.techzonez.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-7243.html You also might want to reformat the drive from FAT 32 to NTFS. Most drives are delivered FAT 32 to comply with old Apple standards. Even if you have data on them, the drive can be converted from FAT to NTFS without affecting the files. Signed "Me," a "successful loser."

Get a spiffy new suit. I had a really hard time getting in the King w/my Blade, but then learned to single-step the ladder, and no more problems. I could never get the legs all the way done up in the aircraft anyway, not once the tandems started piling in.
-
Small aircraft, 3 waiting tandems, hot loads on weekend...Otters are easy.

Depends on what you're planning on doing with it. I have an old 5D, have a couple dozen jumps on it, it's for carefully planned projects only. Have a 40D, it's my primary workhorse for most jumps. Just bought a Canon G10 and will likely use it for tandems-only this next season. Super cheap, super good, and exceptionally lightweight by comparison. It's like a DSLR without a removable lens.

I guess define "real" snag hazard. There is no way, short of removing the molded plastic from the bottom of the waterproof housing, to lay this tight against anything. It's not much more of a snag hazard than many helmet rigs I've seen, and with the type of "stick on" mounts it has, I'd bet it would break with much of a snag. My review is nearly complete now that I've got a few skydives with it. It's NOT a camera for anyone looking for great skydiving footage. It *is* quite good for YouTube/Google video-type stuff, and it takes decent stills for review and giggles. Note the "hot spot" (black spot) in the middle of the sun? I am able to reproduce that consistently with any bright light source. Took some underwater video in a hottub and the tub light created the same artifact, and pointing at a 250k hotlight in our studio created an identical artifact. For the price, this is a very impressive toy. In its class, there is nothing better, and I've tried several low-end cams.

My legs/booties are virtually always done up before getting on the aircraft. My normal aircraft is a King Air with straddle seats. It's hard doing legs up in the front of the plane, it's sorta rude to be sticking your butt in the pilot's face or in front of a tandem (as Costyn points out), and sometimes it's just darn hard in a tight space. My wingsuit doesn't have magnets. My Blade was retro-fitted for magnets, and I wish I had not put them on. They pick up dirt/filings from the ground and damage the fabric. I'll usually do up my leg wing so it's not going to be getting in my way during landing, and also to reduce drag for those really bad-ass swoops (that I don't do) that are in 6-8" grass in our landing area. I don't like the tail in the dry grass. YMMV.

Here is a pic of the cam on an ATV, we shot snow footage with it a few mins ago. Cost is in the sub 2K range.

There are 36 pairs in the cable, a rock-solid connector that has breakaway would add significantly to the price. I'm looking into some options.

I suspect he's got one of the older Raptors with the RSL and velcro wing-to-body attachments.
-
Quite sure he *could* because he's been given a mess that he could indeed mess up more. Instead, it appears that he gives a damn and is working towards a BALANCED government. C'mon...the author and quoted sources in the referenced article can't possibly have their heads so far up their asses that they think an entirely Dem (or Repub) government is a good thing? Isn't balance a good thing? fortunately the forefathers thought so.

PREVIEW over firewire is always HD, but Firewire can carry any data stream. However, the video protocol currently only carries two stream standards. DV HDV That's it. HDV can't be recompressed on the fly over firewire, hence the limitation.

Montana is a "seed state" for wolves along with Idaho and Wyoming...According to the same BLM newsletter I was looking at last night, you've got around 1500 wolves in all of Montana. We have around 200 in all of Utah. I too, wish we still had canneries. We call em' glue factories here, but they're really dogfood houses that sell the hooves for gelatin. it's definitely had an impact here. I'm mostly out of horses now, just a couple mountain nags, but they'll be too old soon enough.
-
Indeed, I do. See attached. But...I don't recommend anyone who isn't reasonably experienced with horses adopt one. Lush pasture/Western desert is somewhat of any oxymoron. Hooves are tough, if they've never been shod they can stay that way. Problem isn't thrush or anything like that; if the feed is too rich they'll colic easily, and if they don't have a fair amount of land to walk, they'll colic fairly easily. They are very fast, and very front heavy (as opposed to what most horses are) which means not only can they throw you with significant front end power, but they can also get the drop on a rider or someone in front fairly easily too. I love em, they're fun, but they take more care and pampering than even an Arabian, and a boatload more care than a Walker or Quarter. Mustangs are so ugly that they're beautiful (Kinda like Rosanna Arquette) and that big Roman nose is almost sexy. But they're not the "pets" that many of the Hollywood crowd seem to think they are. They're the pet that will kill you, given inadequate training and care.
