During the SOS and JOS jumps, some of these guys would go scary low. On the last JOS jump, the base kept going after breakoff and I stayed with them to keep snapping. They finally broke off well below "the deck." On the ground, I asked one of them why they went so low and he replied "Because it was a lot of fun and we might not get to do this again."

From my view, "pretty" "attractive" and "beautiful" are separate values. "Pretty" is appearance. "Attractive" is who she is. "Beautiful" is a combination of "pretty" and "attractive." There are women that are exceptionally attractive that aren't so pretty. There are women that are exceptionally pretty that aren't so attractive. Then there are women that are exceptionally pretty that are exceptionally happy, capable, balanced=beautiful. Skymama would be an example that comes to mind. Lindsay Lohan is very pretty, unattractive as hell, and not remotely close to beautiful. If you think they're harder to manage, I'd submit that your preconceived notion probably sets sthe stage for them being harder to manage.

it'll still roll. There is no more "PAL" or "NTSC" in HD-land. There is 50Hz and 60Hz. Your 50Hz display won't be compatible with your 60Hz camera/game. They'll likely play (most displays today can somewhat convert) but you'll see roll/frequency beat as a result. There are scalers that allow for HDMI in/out and selectable output modes, these generally work quite well. I've never used a video game on a 1080p scaler, so no knowledge as to how well it will work

here all day, bro. Jumping with the South African contingent. Let's get some nylon on!

how difficult would an auto contrast/pickpoint be to generate, or even a best-guess on head point to speed the process?

Jim Hickey, hands down. Eike Hohenadl. Then me, most likely.

Just wondering, but what was the audio track they removed? Natural sound? Royalty free music? Your own personally composed and performed composition? There is a good question, but with YouTube, they have so many license agreements that even me, the copyright nazi...use masters on occasion. Youtube will strip the audio if it's illegal, so I'll put stock in there if they do. But it is kinda funny that skydivers get tweaky about copyrights and video, when they've used copyrighted music in their DVD replications.

Of course you should be upset.

Fail. Kinda didn't think you'd take my offer, but a man's gotta have hope, y'know? Tell ya what...you can ride my back like a pony, that'll be close to the unicorns Labrys wants. Try to hang on during a flat spin. Would be a new experience for me, too. Never done an intentional with someone on my back before. Might be kinda fun in a butterfly/pony way.

She'll be back to Elsinore for a weekend or two in March to do some jumping. And she'll continue doing Chicks Rock. Where would we be without that? Melsinore *always* has something to celebrate, whether it's Invasion, Chicks Rock, Boneanza, film fest...now we just get to celebrate her return, too.

I may be a funny guy, but looks ain't everything, y'know? Seriously, name-calling is the best you can do here? I've got the suits. I've got the rigs (just in case you don't have a non-elliptical) it's got an AAD, got video, and I've got the jump ticket for you. I have EVERYTHING you could possibly need. COME SHOW US HOW IT'S DONE. I'd bet everyone would appreciate and learn from video of you getting out of a real honest to god flatspin with the method you describe in a modern suit. I'd be learning something from an older, more experienced guy like you, and appreciate the opportunity. Here's your chance to show everyone your great expertise in wingsuiting on my dime.

Bugs by a WIDE margin Jessica Rabbit pounds the sh** out of Bugs... But Wiley Coyote is a poser compared to Bugs... Bugs beats the Easter Bunny Jessica Rabbit just goes to prove that people prefer redheads with great racks over nasaly brilliance and repartee.

wingsuit landing without parachute project
DSE replied to profesorlino's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That ad was made after Ray's amazing wingsuit jump at Zhills, so if anything, the ad came from his stunt. it was just a bunch of guys having fun on a weather day. Stoney repeated the stunt by exiting a truck at the Tiki boogie. Pix here somewhere on DZ.com -
I love Chico's cutaway shot. Looks like he's waving "See ya!"

wingsuit landing without parachute project
DSE replied to profesorlino's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Actually, there was a video of one guy jumping wingsuit from a helicopter, did some freefall and he landed it without opening parachute. He only got bloody nose if I remember correctly. Link to that video was somewhere here, but I can`t find it. Anybody else here remember it??? So, it`s already been done, stop trying -
Sigh...sucks that it keeps coming back to this... As Jarno indicated (and as I have on occasion) sometimes a Mac simply can't handle the job because of how the OS works. With nearly 30 Mac's and a few more PC's in our arsenal, I'm really grateful for BootCamp in some instances, and tremendously grateful for fast renders and native handling of the PC, including on-CPU decode of AVCHD, AC3, and other things that Apple simply cannot/will not support. So "who would want to?" The correct answer is "People who want to turn video fast without silliness and generational loss." It's a tool. But if speed is the need and skydiving is part of the mix, Apple is simply the wrong tool. (IMO)

You can do this on a Hypeye but not a Cameye. Yes, that's what I was saying in the OP, but didn't carry the clarity through. Glad you guys all found the answers that Labrys needed.

You won't find a workaround. I tried, and the fastest thing was to have Stefan send me the 64bit hardware for Win7. Works perfectly for me. As far as the other, be sure you're set to SLO, and understand that popping the suit can fool any device. My mudflap mount is almost always right, whereas occasionally my wrist mount that I use for recording the jump is wrong due to a pop, even in a small suit.

you can dim the brightness of the LED indicators.
-
Don't forget Matter, EG, and Dakine. For example, Chuck Priest was putting 'bubble butts' on wingsuits over a decade ago but some folks think it's a recent development.
-
No zoom lock, no control of brightness, no debrief...but outside of those, you'd have a pretty standard setup.

Sean is around here...pretty regularly (Elsinore).

What would you do if you lost your goggles on exit?
DSE replied to ridestrong's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Squint. It's not that big a deal. I've twice given my goggles over to someone who forgot theirs. Your eyes get dry, and that's about it. Not fun, not the end of the world. -
Cat G/H jumps have more canopy awareness, not to mention the additional A license requirements. HOWEVER: Asking a coach who is likely jumping a wingloading of 1.0-1.3;1 to accurately observe a student's canopy flight is sorta silly when the coach is deploying at 3.5 to 3 and the student deploying at 4, loaded at 0.7;1. There is already a great Canopy Proficiency card available. Making it a requirement for the B license is one possible step forward, albeit not a complete solution. I've spoken with dozens of skydivers that are unaware of the canopy proficiency card.

Yes, you would have a system for about the same price, with fewer features, but if using the Pc5 is important, then you're good to go.
