  1. You are assuming that all impacts are straight into the ground. From what I've looked at, the high quality body armour is designed for impact absorbtion. If road rash protection were the goal, then a thick leather suit is all that's needed. My point is that if the impact doesn't kill you, but leaves you broken, armour may help you to be less broken.
  2. Reply To -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nice grammer there. So what part of the bible tuaght you to curse so much??? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So you chose to take the low road and fit in with the good old boys network, which you so readily deride, instead of the high road, and showing your moral superiority, as you do here?

    Death Penalty

Does that include both sides of the womb? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You want to keep them alive after they've proven themselves to be fuckups. I'm willing to give them a chance to become fuckups. What makes more sense?
  4. You just said, two posts up, that you love to visit vigilantism on your abusers. Isn't that revenge? You don't seem to have a problem with them being abused or killed by fellow inmates. You might want to check your compassion/civility meter, there.

    Death Penalty

While I do not subscribe to all of your religious beliefs and spirituality, I would object to religion and spirituality being utilized to affect court decisions. Indeed, I'm actually shocked that you would suggest it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Does that include both sides of the womb?
  6. Even in a high side you're only falling from 5-10ft max, so if you have a long path to slide/tumble around, you could come off pretty well. I'm (sorta) proof of that with my 65mph getoff. I certainly would have benefitted from armor protecting my ribs/spleen from my arm. But the shoulder and hand was going to get it no matter what. I was looking at the armour called 'pressure suits'. They seemed to be quite encasing with the ability to move. The back protector seems substantial. If you survived a bounce, the chance of not breaking your back seem pretty good.
  7. If the standard munitions were available in the quantity that your statistics show, why haven't they continued with the same level of violence unless they are: Running out of ammo, running out of committed soldiers, or both? Either way, from my point of view, we have gained the upper hand and are winning the fight.
  8. Welcome to the 'What a fucking idiot' Mutual Admiration Society.
  9. I have recently taken up motorcycle riding, and in researching protective clothing, I've read accounts of riders walking away from high speed, high side crashes. Has anyone considered, or worn body armour during swooping competitions, or practise? I would think that it could save a lot of people from internal injuries. Any thoughts?
  10. Absolutely. I've never paid the 9/10ths at the gas pump unless I pumped 10 gal.
  11. I'll let you do the source finding. You seem to do an excellent job. Somehow, I think that you are in your element. Also, you seem to hold no bias in your reports. Based on your statistics about munitions, and the fact that we can't find them all, I would also present that as a point that the WMDs could be anywhere, and some probably do exist, thus shutting down the 'No WMDs' argument.
  12. I said in a thread about 4 months ago, something to the effect that the last wave of violence by AQ was their Hail Mary pass at the end of the game, with no real hope of winning. Unless their munitions are being resupplied they have to run out at some time, but then again, they may be holding those WMDs in reserve. I also believe that you can only get so many people to fight for a cause who's only message is death.

    USA WAKE UP!

Why isn't China and India being hammered? They are far worse polluters of the the environment than we are. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, I disagree that CO2 is a pollutant. Second, there are far more dangerous things spewed into the air than CO2, and China has quite a GAF attitude about it. Case in point. They think nothing of painting childrens toys with lead based paint, and shipping them here. Personally, I think that it's a huge conspiracy.
  15. Those are so that the guy who goes low will have something to grab on to.
  16. Well, blue kool-aid is just nasty, which is obvious by your post. Let's see. You live on the Left Coast, in one of the most liberal, excuse me, progressive cities in the country, and you consider 2/3 of the country a bunch of RUBES in Flyover Land. Who the Hell is drinking the kool-aid?

    USA WAKE UP!

As for the US, I think we recognize that it's an attempt by other countries to hold our economy hostage. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are the Nancy Kerrigan and the rest of the world is the Tonya Harding, and they'd love nothing more than to take us out of first place by kneecapping us, regardless of the fact that they know their own economies would be damaged. Why isn't China and India being hammered? They are far worse polluters of the the environment than we are.
  18. Well, as it happens crystal growth is one of my research areas! Sort of like two solar systems being identical.

    USA WAKE UP!

So do you think that all of this CO2 is being produced by people who have nothing better to do than drive around on the weekend and see the Good Ol' USA, or are we actually producing something?

    USA WAKE UP!

Here's a thought. We'll let the rest of the world tell us how much we can pollute our own country, and we'll adjust our food production accordingly. Look at all of the fuel we could save not using those tractors to grow food, those trucks to haul it to the ports, the ships to get it to other countries. How long before you think they would start crying 'foul'?
