    OH RUNNERS!!!!

It really is a bit of a quandry. If an injury is affected by the type of exercise you are doing, it only gets worse. Your body has to heal if you want longevity in any sport. Not exercising caused your aerobic conditioning to go downhill quickly. I'm thinking of getting a high quality rowing machine for those in between times, and for upper body conditioning.

    OH RUNNERS!!!!

On a treadmill you are not propelling your weight forward. It does demand a much smoother running style than the road.
  3. I just thought it was another brightly colored film that is used to hypnotise small children. I didn't watch it closely, but I thought that I saw the typical," man is evil, animals are good." message that radical animal rights people are always trying to shove down our throats.
  4. Those of us who choose to succeed by using our God given talents, and who recognize that personal wealth is only acheived honestly through hard work, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apparently, you missed the key word in that passage. Honestly.
  5. Gee, where is all of that love that you supposedly posess?
  6. Reply To -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get on a canopy control course as soon as you can. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just took it last weekend in DeLand. He concentrates on a couple of techniques per jump. We were opening around 4500', so there was plenty of time to practise. A lot of his basic course if just fine tuning a lot of the material that you had to learn to make your first jump. Taking a break from weekend jumping to take the course is well worth the money.
  7. A journey of a thousand miles starts with one small step. It's your turn. You can start by leaving the car parked in the driveway, and doing everything with a bicycle, or on foot. Are you game?
  8. So, let me get this straight, you are willing for the govt. to rob people of their hard earned cash to give it to someone who won't work, but not to build up a solid military that can protect you from the world's scumbags? By the way, the money in military contracts gets put back into the economy in the form of wages. Sure, some of it is squandered. It looks like free money to some people. Ever hear of welfare abuse? Where's your complaint about that waste?
  9. Absolutely not. I rebuilt my single wide from the inside out. Because of homestead exemption, I pay no property tax. I've got food in the garden, food in the freezer, a cozy place to spend my evenings, and the ability to take a week off to do whatever I want.
  10. I would gladly help someone with a hand up. If I found someone seriously making an effort to learn a trade or skill, I very possibly would invest in their lives. I probably wouldn't just give them cash because it too easy to spend it on anything. I'd probably purchase some quality tools for them. If they sold or pawned them, it would be game over. There are many able bodied people[I continue to remember New Orleans] who intentionally have few skills, and no desire to pull their own weight just because someone isn't going to pay them $40 an hour. They suck the system dry for those who truly need it. These are the ones that piss me off, and the ones that liberal politicians love to have in their pocket. I just don't see a lot of disdain on your part for willful slackers, and believe me, they are the biggest part of the problem, not the exception.
  11. I've said it before. How many people out there standing at the stop light that they know jambs up traffic, with their little sign would really go to work if you offered them a real job? If I choose to support or help the "less fortunate" that should be my personal decision. No one should have the right to demand that I give up what I have rightfully earned by the sweat of my brow to give a free ride to anyone who will not, or even, cannot work. Honestly, because of the burden that is put on my demograpic[single white male] by the IRS, I work only as much as I need to to keep my head above water. I'm just not going to waste my time doing something, labor wise, that doesn't provide a return. If this country became socialist, they'd get even less out of me. After all, some rich man could give me his money.
  12. There's only one or two people with whom you need to be angry for your situation, and it Goddamned, sure ain't me.
  13. Well, in order to elevate yourself above the rest, I suggest that you go out, bust your hump, and then give it away to someone so that they can't possibly call you selfish. I can't ever remember personally taking food or medical help from the "poor." From what I've seen in the grocery store, some of these lard asses on food stamps seem to be eating better than me. Go figure.
  14. How is it, my dear friends, that when he decided to do this commercial that he stayed off of his meds in order to magnify the effects of the disease, yet when he's got an acting job, he's as steady as he can possibly be. Sounds pretty phony to me.
  15. Those of us who choose to succeed by using our God given talents, and who recognize that personal wealth is only acheived honestly through hard work, don't want to give half of it to some slump who decides that getting up at noon, and doing whatever they please, as long as it isn't bending their back to actually produce something, is their God given right. Do you actually work for a living? If so, would you be happy if every payday I showed up with a gun and demanded that you give me half of your earnings because I'm "poor", and really don't see why I should have to work as hard as you. That's socialism. That's also one reason why a large portion of socialist societies don't strive to do their best to advance their personal wealth, because a large portion of it will be taken away, and given to some lazy bastard who doesn't want to hit a lick. I have worked hard this fall digging up, and planting my fall/winter garden. Do you believe that I owe you some free vegetables?
  16. Could you imagine having that voice in your ear every morning at breakfast? No wonder Billiy Boy went elsewhere for his pleasure. Honestly, she's a dyed in the wool socialist who hasn't figured out that socialism causes everyone except those in power to lose, or maybe, she has.
  17. That job should have been totally safe with the advanced equipment that you were using.

    OH RUNNERS!!!!

The only problem with trying to improve your conditioning on some one else's routine is that it is what worked for them. I say run within yourself. some days you start out deciding that you're going to hammer it today. One mile in your body just says" That ain't happening today." Some days you start out on an easy jog, and the next thing you know, you're doing a seven minute mile. If you have the opportunity to try trail running, it is so much more relaxing than road work. You do have to be more aware of your foot placement.

    OH RUNNERS!!!!

Is it your deadline, or someone else's?
  20. Damn, man! You're only 22yr. old with an attitude like that. I've been burned by a wife, and a fiance, and now that I know and love freedom, it would take one hell of a woman to start a fire in me that would make me want to change anything about my present lifestyle. I also find that is so much easier carrying on an everyday conversation with the opposite sex when you have absolutely no hopes or expectations toward that person.
  21. Some people's nostrils are small and cannot supply enough air under conditions of vigorous exercise. Sooner or later, you will be breathing through your mouth during strenuous exercise. I believe that it is important to train yourself to properly use your diaphragm to fill the lungs completely. On inhaling, train your abdomen to expand, allowing the diaphragm to expand to its fullest extent. Upon exhaling, contract the abdomen and force all of the old air out of your lungs.
  22. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but this is about far more than just protecting the children from injury. It's about brainwashing them to believe that there are no winners or losers in life's game. It discourages those who naturally excel, and does not encourage those who would try hard if they were pushed a little bit. Things like this are the tip of the iceburg. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At least, the broken arm was the excuse the faculty uses. Improvement in any sport requires time on the field, not just watching it on tv. Restricting a child's ability to improve at anything puts them behind the curve when it comes down to real life. In your son's case, that could be college or pro ball. The point that I'm making in my original post is that these wussified socialists that run the school systems think that lazy, indifferent people should receive the same reward as those who strive hard to improve their lives.
  23. The very fact that gay history is being taught automatically includes an explanation of the gay lifestyle, or what makes one gay. It can't be avoided. Liberace was a great pianist. I really don't need to know that he died of AIDS from having unprotected sex with some other man. It just isn't relevant to his accomplishments. If it is, then we must discuss the sexual preference of every great pianist that is studied in music class. Do you see how rediculous that would become?
  24. So you're against monogamy, I take it? Best get rid of any mention of "mommy" or "daddy" then, lest you start promoting that one form of sexual relationship! Monogamy doesn't have to shoved down people's throats until they accept it. Those children know where they came from, and I would bet that they are not reminded everyday that their parents are heterosexuals. There's really no need. By your thinking, any sexual deviancy should promoted as normal, and put out there for children to explore. "This week, children, we are going to be looking into the lifestyle of the swingers. Next week, we will be looking into masochism, and it's positive effects upon humanity."
  25. As far as I can tell, getting a job, going to the bank, going grocery shopping, taking a vacation, or pursuing some adreneline sport, is done everyday without making some great proclamation about your sexual preference. At least that's how it is in my world. By the way, I have several customers who are lesbians. I do a good job and give them a square deal, and the topic of sex never even comes up. Any person who makes a contribution to society should be celebrated for the accomplishment, and not what the person choses to do in the confines of their bedroom. The sexuality of Thomas Edison had absolutely no bearing on the invention of the light bulb.
