I usually check weatherbug.com for actual conditions real time but that is usually in the morning, sometimes an hour later its windy. This is another good website for the wind forecast, its usually accurate. http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?Submit=Go&sta=KLAL&model=avn&state=FL Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

I usually only go to the DZ if winds are predicted to be 5-10. If they are over 15 either steady or gusting, I am going home. I have driven an hour and a half to the DZ on more than one occasion, only to find winds over 15 and turn around and head back home. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

Da Vinci tattoo, who's got it?
SWATcop replied to Chris-Ottawa's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Kind of like the guy I know with his HIGH SCHOOL football mascot tat on his shoulder. Might have seemed like a good idea at the time, but 25 years later, looks pretty stupid. And let's be real, there are tattoos and then there are TATTOOS. Yep, thats your .02 Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467 -

I have ink but no skydive ink. Those sound like good ideas to me. Best bet is probably to continue with the search. I am sure the above posts from the "SKY GODS" are just what you were looking for. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467 -

I have been a cop for 11 years now and its a good job but its not for everyone. The excitement vs boredom is going to depend entirely on where you work. You might see if your prospective Police Dept has a ride along program, that way you can see first hand what its going to be like. Keep in mind larger departments have more specialty units. Road Patrol is fun at first but it gets old after a while. Luckily I haven't had to wear a uniform or answer a call in five years. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

I am not a "Hardcore" mountain biker but I have been through the IPMBA school (Police Mountain Bike School) and was a bike cop for three years. I have been riding a Giant Iguana for the past five years and its taken a lickin and keeps on tickin. I actually like it better than the Police Cannondale I rode for three years at work. Check out Giant Bicycles they have all levels. Dude I think you got cheated, I think he cut it off before the full 5 sec ride. I have been pepper sprayed, CS gassed, stun gunned, and tasered. Tasered is by far the worst! Great tool though ends a foot chase at the first fence. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

I started static line jumping in the Army in 1991. I started Skydiving in the Army in 1994 (Green Beret Sport Parachute Club). I got injured in a skydiving accident in 1996 (Titusville) and didn't jump again until Apr 2006. About 3.5 years skydiving. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

1:2:0 I had two great jumps at Titusville Saturday, the weekend is not over yet (I don't go back to work until Wed). Heading to Z-Hills Tues. Matt, did you ever go back and finish the canopy course at Deland that we got weathered out of? I never did. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

Personally I think its a non issue but you might find this interesting. I have jumped them on military free fall rigs with no problems, you won't get one on student gear though. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1100466;search_string=bellyband;#1100466 Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467

I was out for ten years and just returned this year. The drop zone changed owners twice while I was away, all new people, new plane and they do this thing called 'Freeflying" now. Its nice to be back though.

In the mid 90's in Titusville, I landed next to the McDonald's drive through window on a night jump. A lady picking up some food gave me a ride back to the DZ. Kevin Muff Brother #4041 Team Dirty Sanchez #467
