  1. hey, mine was a 99, but there is a chance the slider is the same size. i heard they are on velos of different size, but thats only what ive heard could be wrong. anyways the slider measures 26 x 18. i also have taken this to terminal on many, probably a quarter of the jumps on it. ive had it for a little over a year and about 300 jumps. believe me, it really made the canopy. you will notice a huge difference when you remove it. plus the visability is so much improved. but like previously mentioned, joes slider has no problems with terminal openings, even used it on a few tandem videos that i got conned into doing did a nice slider removing instruction video after opening. that was funny. anyways, the xf2 opened exactly the same with this slider. i watched it the first time, then that scared me. it was strange seeing the pilot chute and bag attached to the slider pop off the canopy, trail above and behind then all this junk sliding down the lines. so for the next few jumps i just pitched and waited, you know you can feel if the opening is going good, plus no worries with the xf2, but then it got fun to watch this freak show going on after the pitch. you know what, once you pull off the slider and are reeling up the pc and bag, its amazing how much drag the thing actually creates even though it collapses. a few times i just sat there and pulled it in then threw it back out behind me and tugged on it and thought, no wonder getting this thing off makes such a big difference. its like retracting the gear on an airplane. plus it is so quiet, just wind noise through the lines. no flapping beast above your head anymore, ok enough pr for the rds smizo
  2. yea, excellent work from joe. got one of his on order for my xaos. i have the one that i didnt sell off my xf2. lemme know what size yours is, im looking to get rid of this one. ill measure it tonight. its about a year old and is a joe benette creation. but again, his work is top notch quality. smizo
  3. Your general attitude and demeanor displayed on this forum is a primary reason why so many people leave the sport after a few years. Abrasive personality and egotistical attitude get very old to people after a while and when you have a DZ full of them a lot of people just say enough. oh please, give me a break, you guys are funny. i left all that stuff off my profile cause you guys dont need to know that. im just making it entertaining to read. gotta love it. pretty much everything that needed to be said in this topic was said in the first 3 or 4 posts. if any of you guys are taking this seriously i feel real sorry for you, have a nice day boys and girls.
  4. You 2 should take you clown act on the road. It has no place in a serious discussion on gear or safety. we already tried that unfortunatly the parasail has what you would call a small problem negotiating through town behind the truck. you know power lines and what-not getting all wrapped up in the thing, not to mention the tight turns and buildings as well as stopping all the time at lights, gets to be a bit of a problem landing and taking off all the time. guess you can see the difficulity in a road show. now what we can do, is sell tickets on this thing at the next fair to make money to buy a "real parasail" but until then we will take our young, tough bouncy ball bags swinging benieth our paracommander out on windy days. i guess you didnt pay too much attention in my first post where i said we dont go any higher than we are prepared to fall, but you must have just skimmed past that all fired up. except this summer when we are gonna base jump off it behind the boat, that should be killer...... no pun intended..... or is it.....;
  5. hey bro, yea most of it was just kidding, i didnt think you would take it seriously. sorry. anyways to be serious, you best bet like you said is to talk to you dzo like you did. getting opinions on here is fine but dont take what alot of people say to heart. theres some good info on here and some people have good stuff to share, but i was pointing out that alot of people love to tell someone else they are going to die. sorry if i was steering you in the wrong direction, just thougth youd find it humorous. yea, the 83 cha-hos is a sweet ride. ill post a pic in the swooping forum when i get the rds from joe on it. you know, youre not a "real" swooper unless you have all the hot sh$t, right? not sure if youre new here like you are to the sport but what the trick is, is to sort out what means something to you and what is bs, sorry if you took my post differently. last thing i want to do is scare away someone. saffire 2 is a good canopy too. we got a few of them. look for a newer production canopy, newer designs are better than before, pilot, saffire, pilot to name a few. anyways, have fun and hook the sh#t outta it!
  6. dude you nailed it with asking your dzo. ask people that see u fly. like u said, most of the people on here want to tell you what not to do and how youre gonna die or get hurt. they thrive on that stuff. i think if we removed all of the "youre gonna kill yourself or hurt yourself" posts about 9/10ths of this forum would be gone. if your dzo says its all good and youre comfortable do it up. at 130 lbs under a 150 whats wrong with that, hell keep the stiletto, stay on radio and start swooping early. thats where its at anyway
  7. nice, i love the pic you look like youre hauling ass
  8. you guys are funny, ill have to post some more of our stupid human tricks, and banksy youll get on anything that flies! and youll do what i tell you or else, you bastard! besides youre good at bouncing!
  9. yea, it would be....... this was over our paved runway!
  10. thought you might get a kick outta this one. put it up on gear and rigging for a parasail post but thought youd like it on here also. now heres style, hitting rears on a round, you should have seen the swoop, as long a i kept driving!
  11. i was going to tell you guys to take your skirts off and grow a ballbag but now i see your concern so we have deceided to discontinue use of our 1974 paracommander and change with the times and hook up my 83 xaos 27. horse power is not an issue with the turbo! just have to drive faster.
  12. hey, i got an old paracommander that has been modified to parasail. the steering lines were removed and i believe some of the vents were totally opened. i think the steering vents. the harness still attaches to the normal riser location using capewells. the Y lanyard that attaches to the rope is then attached to drings sewn in the front risers about 3/4 the way up to the links. this will give the canopy the "nose down" trim so it lifts. anyways, it is more dangerous than a parasail. we have been bounced a few times. we attach about a 100 ft rope tie it to the jeep and blast down the grass runway when its too windy to jump. but we dont take it any higher than we are prepared to fall this summer we are hooking it up to the boat and one of us is going to base off of it into the drink. well, i guess it wont technically be a base jump but it will be scary enough
  13. you are sooooooooooo not a pa swooper! stilettos rock! smizo
  14. aw thanks mel! yea that stiletto really kicks ass, i think its the best canopy for swooping ever! dude how bout those 50 foot downwinders we were pulling off? soon we will be ready for the pst. man those were sh#t hot! i especially loved when you, magot and i did that crew jump and had some "real" fun. i bet that was never done under canopy! i never knew your base rig, magots stiletto 97 and my "new custom" stiletto 170 would fly so well. that was cool you were allowed to jump your base rig since all out rental stuff was busy with students and paying customers! anyways, glad you enjoyed your stay up here. later smizo
  15. honestly he wasnt even my friend, just some dude bashing safire openings at a dz we flew to last year. steve-o was telling him about how nice his opens. we asked him about his canopy and it is new with only 20 jumps on it......... must be body position
  16. funny, no mention of a safire 2. my buddy jumps a 169 loaded at 1.4 - 1.5 depending on weight and has gotten some pretty decent swoops out of it, it openes fantastic, a bit long but nice, and flies great. only thing is the recovery arc is relativly short. i just sold my xf2 and had that loaded at 1.9. that flew great. but im not sure how they flew lighter. i knew a guy who flew a safire 2 loaded light, like 1-1 and he said it opened like crap. but steve o's 169 opens, flies and lands sweet. maybe you can consider that, it could be a good step up to an xfire, or something.
  17. ok, ok, seriously though, did you consider trying weights at all? that would up your wl a taste a give you a bit more performance. from what ive seen it seems to be a matter of wl for riser pressure. i know canopy design has to do with it too but if you take your samauri 170 say and a samauri 120, the 120 should have lighter pressure. im just using that as an example. try demoing a xf2. do you have a coach, or is there a canopy pilot willing to help you out? if so, see what he thinks. he will know best since he acutually sees you flying you wing. if he thinks you can handle it whats the problem. we have a guy that recently slowed his jumping down a little but at the end of last year, with only a year of jumping was on a viper 120. yea he pounded in twice but thats how you learn right no seriously, you should have someone at your dz answer this question for ya bro
  18. naw, id actually get a custom one, you know so he'd be different. like a 77 or something and for the other guy.... you just keep tooting your horn
  19. hey, first by posting this on here youre going to get criticized with your jump numbers. jump numbers are just that a number they mean nothing, unless you want some uspa award or some dumb thing. im one that doesnt believe in a number, its the quality of the jumps you actually do make and how you are as a canopy pilot. ive posted elsewhere that ive seen 100 jump wonders flying the shit out of a canopy and people with 1000 jumps that dont have a clue as to how a canopy flies. anyways, ask around your dz, with good experieced canopy pilots and instructors. obviously they have seen you fly and land and can give you better advice than anyone on here. if it were me, id say get a xaos go big or go home! but thats just me.........
  20. hey evil, we should rig up something to jump that canopy i have for the rc skydiver. its 8 sqft 9 cell zp. now what should we attach it to? ill bring it up this weekend.
  21. dont worry jer, he really didnt launch him. its obvious that martina is holding the line while nick took the shot. plus there is no way she would let him do that
  22. yea, the plan failed, but i knew someone would post this. stevo dumped at 5.5. amanda had a cutaway, and even if she didnt, if stevo couldnt find his handles behind the blowup doll from 5k he shouldnt be skydiving!
  23. yo, go to the gear and rigging forum and look at the javelin tandem post, go to the bottom and look at our pics!
