    Need Help

I do not know if I want to get into BASE jumping as a whole. I know that I want to feel the rush (at least once) of standing at the exit point and feel that I am 100% ready to take that ackward step forward and be able to survive. I do not know what will happen after I land (hopefully safely). Paragliding just does not excite me that much. You know when you see a video of something. You jump off the coush and you say: I want to do that. That is how I got into skydiving and scubadiving. Well paragliding does not do that to me. To be honest there was a period after I got my A-license that I felt the "I want to look cool" syndrome. I got over it very fast though and I realized that I am doing this for me and that I want to learn to fly my body and have fun. So why did everybody here started BASE jumping? What "good" reasons does everybody have?

    Need Help

I get it. I should probably abandon the idea of making my first BASE jump in August. It seems that I need much more praparation than just the willingness to jump. I will try and get as many jumps possible and then maybe take a course. Thanks for the info

    Need Help

I have seen several videos and read many threads here but I never had somebody explain anything more than that. I know that you only have one parachute, accurate landing skills are needed, your reaction times must be precise and I understand the huge danger the sport has. I need somebody to give me that first touch with the sport and I mean in person not through here. I am just trying to find the right person here. If you can help and not be a jerk as hollyhjb mentioned had happened in previous posts, PM me please. Again thanks in advance

    Need Help

Hello everybody I want to BASE jump. I will be in AZ for two weeks in August. I will be travelling half the globe to get there since I live in Greece now. I know nothing about BASE jumping. I have 124 skydives and by the time I get to AZ I should have 170 (if everything goes right - skydiving is underdeveloped here). 1) Do you think I need more experience than that to get into BASE? I heard of people who were never skydivers and started BASE jumping. 2) Is there something I should do to prepare myself, either physically or mentally? How about canopy control tips? 3) Is anybody willing to help me do at least one jump? 4) Do you know of somebody in AZ who would be willing to help? Thank you all Blue Skies Marios
  10. This might help you. I did my first tandem in 2002, my second in 2004 and I did a third one in 2005 before I started my AFF. They all counted towards my licence as jumps and they are in my logbook. Blues
  11. Do a "Simon Says" jump. Get a friend with some more experience than you to jump with you. Repeat whatever he/she is doing. Have fun and smile!
  12. Thanks Lok. Do not worry. I hope we will jump this weekend. I will bring the tape with the videos! I am not sure if you want to see my 100th since it is a naked one but you cold see a couple of 2 other good ones.
  13. How did that go? Did you win anything? Did you learn a lot? Any pictures maybe?
  14. That is quite a Happy Easter too my friend!!!
  15. Well it seems that you guys had a great time too! Nice. So what did everybody else did for their Easter? I know there were quite a few boogies going on both in Europe and the US.
  16. No Thank you Barbara for the great boogie!!! You guys did an amazing job. See you soon. Blue skies P.S.: Check my post in General Skydiving Discussions: That is what I call a Happy Easter!
  17. So this is how I spent my Easter. I went to Skydive Tortuga in Italy for their Easter Boogie. I did 20 jumps over the 4 days I was there. All of them were in altitudes above 15000 ft!!! Those included: Coaching jumps with Olav Zipser Tracking dives organized by Olav Zipser (one with two planes) My 100th jump which was a naked one! BEEEEER!!!! My winning freefly quiz jump! This was a funny competition. You were jumping with an instructor who was holding 5 cards. Each of the card had a simple question on it with 3 possible answers (Ex. Picasso was: 1) A packer 2) A painter 3) A rigger). You had to fly to the instructor get a card and with show of fingers to the camera answer the question. A right answer would earn you 2 points. If you brought the card to the ground you would earn an extra point. So with 4 right answers and 4 cards to the ground I won my self 3 free jump tickets, a six-pack and a bottle of champange to celebrate! The personnel in Skydive Tortuga was amazing. Barbara and Clarissa made everybody happy when they brought beers to everybody after the sunset load, gave little presents on Easter, organized games and packed for everyone. Manifest and pilots were excellent. Load organizing was great too. I hope you had a Happy Easter too. Blues
  18. I can't wait. I will be there tonight!!!
  19. That is what our sport is all about! I wish that every day in your life is like that...Blue skies
  20. I will be there if I have a place to stay on Thursday night!!!
  21. All the way from Megara in Greece. This was a load with people from Greece, Latvia, Spain and Cyprus (I am the one from Cyprus with the orange jump suit). I love the smiles.
  22. What exactly is psycho pack? I definitely prefer the sound of pro pack!
