States should make appropriate changes to their law to stop this behavior. Empowering the stockholders to approve bonuses might be a start. A massive bonus for massive losses just seem wrong. A bonus that is a percentage of profits would be fine but to have compensation cut by a percentage of losses would be the proper incentive. Agreed, how is it that owners have less say than directors?
