Yesterday I did a 4way jump, and rocked it, had a lot of fun. The only thing was everyone on the Dz had to ask me what the fuck I was doing with grippers, and when I was creeping I got interupted 10 times by people asking me what I was doing. Do we all get steriotyped, I can say I am a freeflyer/swooper but I do have 2000 4way video jumps, and now that I have done some 4way I understand how hard it is, (especially engineering) but how much fun it is. So yeah I've gone to the light side, I haven't left the Dark side but why limit yourself. Skydiving is fun and its all a challenge, I think everyone should learn to fly belly and freefly. Its all challenging and if you refuse to try other things then the only one your cheating is yourself. I did surprise my old teammate who freaked when I asked him to do a 4way jump, and he really was surprised to see I can turn in place and did real well, I thank him for organizing and engineering the dive and I learned a lot, Im looking forward to doing many more 4way dives this year. So all you out there that dont know, try it, 4way is a lot of fun, and definitely a worthy challenge. Dont limit yourself to just headdown you will thank me later if you try it. Im getting ready to go to the keys this weekend for 4 days of fishing and skydiving, and my friend has a $350,000 house and is having the mother of all Superbowl parties, 4 years ago when I saw him last he was a bartender like me, I have no clue how he made the money, but I wish I had stayed at that bar, lol. True but not true, I can film a team and get out at 10'500 ft and land and pack before the next load, but doing that all day everyday gets old, so I usually hire a packer after a while. Actually it came out on exit, the peice partner saw it the whole skydive but didnt know what to do, so he kept turning points, lucky for me he was the guy I was right on top of, if you look he saved my life because he moved just as it happened, scary as hell but Im here, sad thing is my video after with them got real wide instead of steep. I used windows movie maker, its real simple to use, I have premeir but I need to buy Premeir for dummies, its real complex, I also have adobe after effects thats hard to use also, Im going to take a class on both of them this summer. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

All I can say is, dont worry, Roger and all are working hard on the program, I have had a Neptune before they were released, and I have had a few problems, but as soon as I went in there they fixed the problems, in an hour and changed the software. I can say they have made huge steps in the software and the logging to see what the problems were and how to fix them. Alti2 is on top of things and they have the product that is very upgradeable. Lol who ever thought that putting 1000 jumps on an f111 pilot chute without changing the kill line or maybe thinking the f111 is worn out would cause a malfunction, but that wasnt every jump I did 800+ this year. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I finally thought of one myself, after thinking hard I thought I wouldn't buy the stilletto 135 after 300 jumps 4 years ago. What it would change is I wouldn't have the titanium I have in my leg now, Oh, damn scratch that, cause at the rate I was going breaking my leg probably taught me the lesson that kept me from killing myself, Well maybe changing small things isn't always good. This is based on the new movie coming out. If you had the ability to go back in time and change something that you could or could have not done, would you do it? And what would you do? Try and think how the change would have on your life today. As an example: If I went back and actually married my high school sweetheart, there is probably 100% chance that I wouldnt be a skydiver today, and an even better chance I would be unhappily married right now, with kids I cared a lot about. Personally I dont think I would go back and change a thing, but it would be cool to see how little things would change an entire outcome of someones lives. In theory yes, but I still dont see using a wide lens and a smaller lens. A wide lens might help, but there isn't many ways it would help. If a team goes flat and you left early the only thing that is going to help you, is some very good flying. I would much rather wear two of the same camera's and use the setup as a backup for equipment failure, instead of backing me up if I screw up. This is only my opinion towards me, I agree that maybe a super wide might help you out in a bind, I jump a .03 already so I am using a super wide lens, a smaller angle lens with me would only show a narrow close angle, that would get busted to hell. All I could suggest is try it out yourself and see if you like it, if you do use it. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I personally fly very close to the formation, and I have no problem filling up my screen with the .03. But it took practice. And the exit shots are awesome, especially with big ways. I dont care for the kenko .05 I find it too narrow, but I started with one, and gradually moved up to the .03, Its really more with what your comfortable flying, and what lens best fits your style. Try looking at the Rws website www.Relativeworkshop.com Also an easy way to determine if it is a Vector3 or a 2 is there any velcro on it, how about the pin protection flap does it open up or down, if it opens up its a 2. And another good way to tell is the bridle, if its covered by the container then it should be a 3. Easiest way I can think of is look at the packing data card, that will tell you the rig model and Sn# it will also tell you what kind of reserve you have. Good luck. I use the same lenses, because the backup is exactly that, a backup. The only reason I would use a second camera in competition is just in case one failed then I could use the video from the working camera. There is a lot of talk about using a real wide angle lense for the exit ect, but you can only turn in one view, you cant show the exit with one camera and then show the rest of the jump from the other. So I use my ideal setup on both camera's. My choice is a Diamond .03, for 4way, but it is a very wide lense and not for every camera flyer. I do know of a few people that use different set ups for fliming tandems and big ways, The best exit shot I have ever seen was from Gus Wing, filming a 50 way in Deland. He zoomed in a lot on one camera and took the left side of the skyvan, while I had the right, on exit he went low and flew immediately to the left of the formation filming up, from this view you see the formation and a very clear shot of everyone exiting the otter, it made a kind of Fly by effect, it was very cool to see the otter flying by and see everyone exiting it and swooping down. With the combination of Gus's two camera's he did some really cool editing. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
