You are right Jerry, I have the document but it seems still some discussions with FAA for final approval. Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

Even if components are certified separately when a assembly of such components is made both of them must have performed all drop tests together. The manufacturer (which one???)is responsible and must be able to proove it. This is the main problem and this paragraph has been withdrawn from the new upcoming AS8015/C (TSO.C23e) Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

AS is the standard used for the certification of parachutes. Why it is not respected??? business and false infos to the users. If you need a hard copy of the AS I can forward it to you via basik.fr@free.fr Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

No it is not legal as it is clear in paragraph 5.1 from the AS 8015/B. No other reserve brands has been tested into the Atom. Any reserve set into a container must have been tested as required by the AS, this is a point that it is not respected at all by users and riggers. First of all, as mentioned above, for the amount of work done and the level of education of most military members, they are underpaid. I know some Lt Cols with their PHD making just over $60K a year base pay. Second, a "usual worker" doesn't risk getting deployed to a location where his life is at risk every day. Just got a briefing from an Air Force logistics officer (typically non-combative job) who got shot in the leg because the driver of his convoy took a wrong turn in Baghdad. So most companies appreciate the fact that military members are willing to risk their lives so citizens of the US can be guaranteed their freedom. They're just doing a good deed! This sounds good to me except the wages. $60k is twice what a equivalent military in France can get a year. It looks to be more a respect of what they give to your country. We proceed to strength test with different risers years ago and the strongest mini riser tested was the PdF reversed one then the UPT and the weakest the Sun Path. This was in 99 and I have the full report. Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

Because some manufacturers respect what they are doing for their country and it is a way of "giving back". Ok, but a usual worker is also doing something for his country... (I have nothing against military and I respect them) but I do not understand. Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

Pros & Cons of M.A.R.D (Was: Skyhook Activation Stories)
BKR replied to eric.fradet's topic in Gear and Rigging
It was however grounded due to the AAD cutter placement, and all Icon had to be retro fitted with the modification stipulated by FFP (Fédération Française de Parachutisme) ... they went so far as to require all visiting jumpers who had the Icon to have the modification, not sure if that still is in place. And why??? Because the container could stay closed when the aad fired if installed as it was... This is not a banned, this prevent people to be killed because of a "possible" malfunction. Icon was not the only rig to have to switch the aad installation from one point to another. Even Airtec has sent an info about this. This switch has shown other problems but it works better. Many container because of a closing loop lenght a bit longer (after packing) have this problem. Even if the rigger pack correctly with the right loop lenght this can occured later. So, the Icon never been banned.. It has been treated like other rigs been. Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468 -

Concerning this case the user made a great mistake. He tried twice to start his Vigil while a error message was displayed. He tries a third time and the Vigil showed a normal set up. DON JUMP A UNIT IF AN ERROR MESSAGE SHOWED UP ON THE DISPLAY UNIT. He played he lost.. This Vigil has a problem and it shows it to the user. Just send it back, don't play... Here is what we have on our Seven main bag. We used just bands to close the flap and the remaining lines are in a reserve style pocket using magnets to secure it Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

EASA send us back to our NAA and the agency is not involved anymore with sport parachutes. The agency just kept emmergency parachutes under its scope. So, in France as exemple we used the QAC 121 which is based under the AS8015/B. The only difference is where we have to send the paperwork for approval. It must be the same for German and England which are the other EEC manufacturer countries, I do not know about Spain. The only problem is now to get TSO approval because several countries doesn't have any agreement with the FAA. France has it, but not easy to handle. Manufacturing still under Part 21/G with the EASA and under the control of our NAA. This is a bit crazy.. Crashtested, this has nothing related with French laws. PdF manufacture is in RSA and the 35h work law doesn't apply in this counrty. I am a parachute manufacturer and for sure France is not the country to be for such business if you want to make money. My company is in France but not the manufacture. The after sale service or relation with customers has nothing to do with where the company is established. Thank you Rob for this, I can give you a really good price Concerning the E-TSO, it doesn't exist anymore for sport parachutes only emmergency still concerned, its a mess. All info concerning our rigs can be given and I still looking for distributors in USA and Canada. Not quite, that would be the amount you pay if you declare the item. If you get caught, you also pay a fine. A colleageu of mine had to pay a few hundred for smugeling a lens accros the border. Frank You are right, if you get caught in France, the fine is the entire amount you have normaly to pay multiplied by 2 if the value is over 150 euros. This can be a lot, in this case this will be around 920 euros. Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

Regulations are regulations and in France they are not easy to handle sometimes. Yes I did several but not any more. What the best a CRW jump or a beer in my swimming pool, so I go for the beer Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

??? So what do you have to lose Hi Jérôme, its me Andy the guy who came to visit your workshop with my wife, how are you? did you find me a used rig??? Question, in France you dont need an AAD for Voile Contact (CRW), but you do need one for a normal Skydive. What about if the 1st half of the jump is FF then second half is CRW???? best regards Andy Hi Andy, Nothing to loose. Haven't found nothing yet. CRW after a FF is forbiden I think.
