I agree concerning the way the rigger has handle the tests, it should be better organized. Only one point took my attention, the way different brands cutters cut the loop. Those loops have been set the same way, no tension at all (I watched the entire video). There is also a lot of things I cannot talk about on a forum. I think you might open your eyes. This is what Aviacom said. I am sorry, but when (in the same conditions of testing) Airtec and AAD cutters cut the loop and Aviacom didn't, it seems to be a problem. One thing Paul, Packing cycle in several countries is now 1 year and a lot of things can happened during this time. Batteries used into Cypres and Vigil are not the same at all even if they are all lithium, and you cannot find them on the shelf in normal shop as it is possible with those used with the Argus. The Netherlands can do what they wants to do, I spoke with Ronald about this, but in case of a problem they will be entirely responsible, not me. This is only one of the points. The most important point is the responsability of the manufacturer for any accessories installed into its reserve container as TSO say. I do not trust this AAD and I can decide what I want to do. Look, RI has forbidden Vigil into its container. Dear All, You will find attached: our statement and tests report made by the VvV and a letter from eric Fradet. My opinion and decision is as follow: I have seen and touch the Argus and since I have been really suspicious with it (not about electronics because I know nothing about this, but: - General making - Easy to be dismantel - Poor connection plugings and cables - Batteries (photos) as we know they are very sensitive to temperature changes Since this first approch I had decided to wait and to not selling it. Then these testings made a regular way have pushed myself to go further. The main reason is because all H/C manufacturers are responsible of any accessories installed into their equipment in case of a malfunction involving such accessories. So until improvements are not made by Aviacom we do not allow anymore this AAD into our equipments or until regulation will change. I know we are a small company and the impact of such decision in foreign countries will be very minor, but I cannot take the risk to be involved again in a trail. Last thing is concerning testing into different equipements. Airtec and AAD have both testing their AAD into our rigs and we have decided the best way to install the system into them, Aviacom didn't. I wish you could understand my position and I stay at your disposal for further informations. Rob, Just for your info, we used te 4 rings on Advance Tandem to reduce the force applied when pulling the breakaway handle in case of spinning malfunction with heavy loads. When testing the system, we load the rig at 540 kg and the pull force went from 3.6 to 6 kg max instead of 10.5 to 25 kg with the 3 rings. This is the only reason of the use of this concept. If my memory is ok, exit was 13000 ft, it takes less than 30 secs to build the formation and been held for approximatively 20secs. Then each colored ring opened one after one. A friend of mine has impacted because of the soft pillow resrve handle. He has the reflex habit to hook the reserve handle with his thumb as it must be. One day he used my own rig and has a malfunction. Then after cuting away he did the same, but the handle was a pillow, no aad at this time, he spent his time to grab the pillow and never got it, he bounced. Since this happened, I have decided to banned this kind of reserve handle. How many prematured reserve openings we have seen with D metal handle? How many of them became a fatality? How many people have their hand ripped on this kind of pillow handle? How many bounced, at least one I knew... Reserve handle is our last chance (without aad) would you play with it, just for fashion or rumour??? Take care all of you. If you have a look on the AS8015/B paragraph 5.1 you can read that manufacturer is in charge of the assembly testings. So, any manufacturer has the right to not approved the use of any kind of components if these testings are not made.
