They are making 3 rings for major companies and several other hardwares used in EEC since years. They are not the manufacturer of the rapid link, they just sell it. We use this leg strap hardware since years without problem and it works fine. We just had one problem of wear on the webbing mainly because of a wrong understanding of the hardware use. MLW is too short, this is why leg straps looks small. Hip rings are to high on the hip (4-5 cm), upper rings are well set. Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

This is a terrible choice, a friend of mine died using my own rig (when no add existed) because of this. Problem comes from several "local sky gods" who say it is dangerous to have a metal reserve handle when free flying....stupid, idiot..... Wrong, in EEC the standard as never been the TSO but just follow the AS8015/b as technical standard. In France the QAC 121 use the same technical standard as the TSO-C23d. But to obtain an US FAA TSO we must submit the full file to the FAA to get it and it can be long. Same for US manufacturers if they have a TSO-C23d they must apply for a QAC 121 for import. why would you want to lift a rig by any flap anyways ? Figure of speech. I feel a lot more comfortable with a secure main closing flap. For me that comfort comes from the fact the flap is not easily opened like those flaps or the wings version. It is very secured and do not open at all in free fall and in any positions. It takes us a long testing to find the right system. Beside this if you have a close look at the flaps shape you should notice that: - No possibility to have a line snag on the side or upper flaps. - No possibility to have the main bag rotated, when lift during opening, by the upper main flap avoiding line twists. And a lot of other details which help to increase security and common use. There is a big difficulties to have our gears been distributed in the US. -Change rate (even if we match prices) -After sales service which must be handle perfectly over there. To do so, we need a company playing this game. -Big money on the table But I still looking for opportunities and several companies should have a closer look on this. Thank you for your comments Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

Hello, I like the "Unknown manufacturer company". For sure compare to the big majors we are, but we are making rigs since 1998 and canopies since 2001. We sell mainly in France and EEC. Our last Seven H/C is very innovative and include all the features you need at no extra charge. If you need more infos you can PM me. I still looking to distributors in US and Canada. Terry, Give me an answer to this.. (c) If installed, the automatic activation device must be maintained in accordance with manufacturer instructions for that automatic activation device. How can a NON CERTIFIED DEVICE can be included into a certified H/C when the TSO say "it is under the responsability of the manufacturer of an approved H/C to include any accessories which can affect the normal use of the reserve opening... Can you give me an official answer to this?? It's late, I will read this in 8 hours from now.. Cheers Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

Closing loop??? The AAD is not, certified at all, the kind of closing loop which must used must be defined by the H/C manufacturer in its definition file when submited to the FAA .. A rigger is responsible of what is certified, I do not understand how can he be responsible of an item which is not certified?? You can put a puppet into the reserve container till it doesn't interfered with its normal use.... Terry, Do you have any official paperworks about this, I am interested..? Thanks Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

It is seems to me one point has been forgotten, the AAD is not concerned by any certification. This means a Rigger is packing a certified parachute in which a non certified unit is set.... It is just under the responsability of the manufacturer to be sure there will be no interferences between the AAD and a normal manual use of the reserve parachute. Because of this point, what would be the responsability???? Jérôme Bunker Basik Air Concept www.basik.fr http://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Luc-France/BASIK-AIR-CONCEPT/172133350468

Unhappy With UPT Customer Service (Was: Vector and Sigma Retrofit)
BKR replied to catfishhunter's topic in Gear and Rigging
And you must pay big money for this every year. Same for parachute manufacturing in EEC (maybe in US too) with the Part 21/G which is the same as ISO for aero products. This is only paperwork to pickup money from us.
