This idea has been developped years ago but not for sale except Performance Variable who has installed it on their main toggles, paragliding has been using it too since years (99) . We did it on Advance rig as an equipment evolution end of 2002 but haven't time to redesign the rig. This will be available on our new rig within next month. Strenght seems not to be the problem because lines or attachments will failed first, but fabric distorssion could be as we can see so far. Use of such fabric with reserves can be managed because reserve canopies are not going to make 100 jumps. Concerning the use of this fabric with main canopies it could be different because such canopies are going to make hundreds to thousands jumps. It is NCV industries in France (Porcher group) who bought Perseverance Mills parachute material branch when they shuted down. They are the same who worked previously with P-D. I have no idea if P-D still with them. This company is the leader in Parapente material. We work on this program since a year and results looks good. We made and test several reserve canopies X-Fast and packing volume is just great, a 220 pack like a 170. High speed tests worked good, we droped at 180 kts with 160 kgs several times and no failures. The only thing we are looking now is the material distorssion, it looks like after several jumps (over 10) the material started to move just a bit. We have either several mains with 0P top skin and this low weight material on bottom, it looks good but we want to put more jumps on them to be sure. The one sold via PGA is not the best for this. The one we used has a hole in the middle of the jaws as you can see on the pic attached. The dual purpose Side Jaw Pincer design allows clamps to be applied or removed in confined areas with pincers held parallelto the hose. It may also be used like Standard Jaw Pincers. You forgot that P-D had problems with their tandem reserves? This means shit can hapenned to any manufacturers. P-D makes great reserves for sure, but they are not the only one able to make good reserves now. There are 2 kinds of SS used for such ring 316 L and 630 (US AISI Norm) The strongest is 630 normaly used (PdF) for such hip ring on MLW. 316L is normaly OK, it breaks at 4000/4500 kg. But, as you maybe know such SS is heat forged and everything can happened. Hopefully the 316L is more flexible than 630, so you can be advised before it breaks. Hello, It is not a new reserve, it is on the market since 2003. Our main goal was to have a reserve flying as close as a main by keeping in mind the most important characteristics a reserve canopy must have. This mean the main platform of the canopy is very solid in flight, toggles pressure is fine, landing good if you respect, or at least stay as close from de recommended MSW. It open fast but not hard and construction has some kevlar reinforcement points on critical structure parts. This allow to increase a bit the MSW mainly for canopy size from 190 and over. French Skydiving Federation has set a mandatory statement. Argus is not allowed into the rigs I have noticed. Peoples who have such AAD must remove them from their rigs So, for myself it is not allowed or "banned" into these equipements. We can say, banned or not allowed, whatever, result is the same.. grounded. I am not English fluent but enought to say, you cannot jump with this AAD into these equipements. And once again you demonstrate your inability to grasp the invalidities of the report. Only 2 AAD's cutters were compared. Both in completly different circumstances, with an unequal setup of the loop. You are wrong, I have seen a video with the 3 main brands of cutters (Airtec-AAD and Aviacom) only Aviacom failed. Those 3 cutters have been set exactly the same way, with the same no tension on the loop. Sure, no tension is unusual, but both cuts one didn't.
