  5. i wear slider shorts under my clothes/ jump suit. they are in the baseball/ softball section of places like Dick's or Sports Authority. the padding around the upper legs helps. also are you sitting in the harness when under canopy or hanging with your legs straight down? talk to your instructors, they'll be able to give you some pointers on how to be in the harness for more comfort. diamonds are a dawgs best friend
  6. did the amusement park thing and decided to try skydiving myself a few years ago. it's highly addictive. being in austin you're close to some great dropzones. i'd say contact them with your training and 1st jump questions. or better yet go out there hang out, watch, and ask questions. in my short time as a jumper i've always been able to find people willing to share info and help me learn more. best of luck! diamonds are a dawgs best friend
  7. advertising dollars. if there is any kind of audiance for a sport, game or activity and the network can sell the spots, you can bet someone will broadcast even the most boring crap. diamonds are a dawgs best friend
  8. Quote Could someone please give their view as to why one might opt for a traditional 9 cell, other than very conservative pilots and crw dogs? Quote in my view, if i came back after a few years, i'd rather get my skills back up to par on a traditional canopy than going straight to an elliptical and possibly getting injured going too fast too soon and ending up on an injury induced lay off. diamonds are a dawgs best friend
  9. in that case i recommend the dave ramsey program. lots of good info on turning financial situations around. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

  16. IMO- you go from student to novice when you get you A liscense. going from novice to intermediate is alot harder to pin point, as there are many factors to consider. like skill set, continued instruction, and currency. plus it probably happens more than once in a skydivers jumping span, if they branch out into different disciplines. diamonds are a dawgs best friend
  17. the Gallardo, it's faster than the Modena. diamonds are a dawgs best friend
  18. i backed out of going to Voodoo Fest last year so i could put the money i would have spent on hotel ect. toward gear. when i was a student my car got totaled, i took the insurance pay out and bought a beater 90 celica for $1,500 and used the rest toward AFF jumps. my tax rebate is going toward a new canopy. anytime a whuffo tells me how much thier new car, computer, tv ect. cost i immediately think of how many jumps it equals. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

  25. i know germain, miller, ect. type courses cost a certain amount. but i'm interested in the cost of basic canopy coaching on a more individual/ local level. like if i want to learn more RW, FF, or CRW skills it cost the coaches jumps plus pack jobs. is canopy coaching charged the same way? diamonds are a dawgs best friend
