Forgive my Christian ignorance, but my daughter and I are invited to a Bar Mitzvah, and I need some info. Judging from the invitation, it's a formal affair, but how formal? What's a suitable gift? Any other etiquette I should know about?

Well, to be exact, I didn't ask you to cook naked... As for the difference....when sunbathing, I would probably get a bit more attention were I to go topless than you would (at least in the US). No I think you're in the appropriate forum. But I wonder how many of us women really enjoy being treated like "one of the guys"? Me personally, I like being treated like a woman. That doesn't mean less than a man, just different than a man.
