Ok here goes... Sunday am was quiet. Spooky quiet. I grew up on a farm, and there is always noise going on. That day there was not a sound. It reminded me of a total solar eclipes we had 5 years earlier, at noon. Death makes more noise than I heard that day. 8am ish, heard what I thought was a sonic boom. At the time we had those in the area but this one was REALLY big. No big deal. 9:30ish, noticed a really big black cloud heading over the valley I lived in. (Kittitas) in WA. Rain-I thought. This cloud just kept getting bigger and bigger. And darker. I figured something was wrong. I was 18 at the time, went down stairs to see of the folks knew what was hapening. My sis and parents were no where to be found. (They had gone to church). By 10:30-11am, it as getting DARK. by noon, you couldn't go outside and see your hand in front of your face. The stuff fallin down, looked like snow, but it was hot. (One of those things I will never forget). People were trying just to get home. the news finally let everyone know that the mountain blew up, and to stay inside. No one knew if ash was harmful or not. EVERYONE was locked in for 3 dark days, before it finally started letting up. When all was said and done we had 10 inches of heavier than snow like substance on the ground, and a white out was to follow. So much dust in the air, it was like fog thicker than you've ever seen. "bout a week after that, dust starts to settle, cleanup begins, shovelling, scraping, and bagging. DAMN, we had to bag everything. Now when you drive in Washington, notice some of the hills between the freeway lanes, it's piled up ash. BTW, ash make great crops for the next two years, and very good in pottery. Just some of my memories. Curt http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

As someone who grew up 80 miles from the mountain, that's no eruption! That's just a steam vent, venting. If that mountain erupts....everyone will know...just like they did last time. BTW, I remember that day like it was yesterday. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

Also, you'll be asked to dump fotage down to a master tape for backup. Wire Hook ups are generally consistant between cameras, and should pose no problem. Most likely there will be a wire available. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

Usually, camera will dump to video tape using firewire right after jumping. BTW< don't forget to shoot the jump header BEFORE each jump! http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

Powell has most generally told the truth. That's why we don't see much of him. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

Contact Perris and Elsinore for hook up info. Neighborhood is nice, and the weather is great! http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

We use 126 MB and use the largest JPEG file we can. Comes out quite nice. We tried it in a group with standard 35mm cams, with just a 256 shoot you can, and there was some hard feelings. As a school, we decided to keep things pretty much even. Digi has a few more shots because they DO pay a bit more. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

"Lots of memories...3 classes a day, dorm rooms, sneakin out of the girls dorms....." http://www.curtisglennphotography.com -
While using digital, we set up our cards for around 40 shots. It maxes out the card and keeps everything "even". http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

Very sorry to hear of your experience. I too have had a similiar tale. Going through a divorce, walkin along the side of a busy road, this beautiful brown boxer ran right out in front of a semi-truck. As miserable as I was, all I could do was sit and be with this poor dog as life slipped away. Take solice in that the animal didn't die alone, but had someone very caring with it. This happened 10 years agao, but I still have a tear when I think of it. I still don't know why it happened, but for a few minutes, my misery was the last thing on my mind.
