  1. Add Jim Wallace to that well graced list. 18,000+ I jump with him often and have NEVER seen anyone having so much fun! (a relatively good flyer, ok on landings. Don't ask him to swoop!) With his yellow jumpsuit, he earned the nickname "Banana Split" http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

  3. adorable! http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  4. It will be interesting when the first one goes down. I REALLY hope that doesn't happen, but as we all know, things DO stop flying on occasion. All those extra people...... (you know the rest) http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  5. I'm gonna be blunt. I don't see how punishing people by taking them on a skydive is supposed to show skydiving in a good light. Your idea makes skydivers look silly and the sport ridiculous. Sorry, but this just seems like a bad idea. You've had a few people look at your post, I'm the only one brave enough so far to write an opinion. (Just my two cents.) http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  6. No, because you will use flat "inverted" nuts on them. The bolts are flat in the camera area, and the actual bolt section goes down into the helmet. Give Bonehead a call today. They will send you some. Curt http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

  9. Why not get involved in both this year. I'm a guy, so I can't jump in the "Jump for the Cause", this year. This year we skydivers have the opportunity to do some good things. Raise money for breast cancer awareness and this: Dear Friends and Family, As all of you know, I am a skydiver. I am honored to participate in a repeat of a special and worthwhile event that a group of us did almost two years ago. On Saturday, January 29th Perris Valley Skydiving Presents “Blue Skies for Future Eyes! 2” A fund raiser to benefit the American Council of the Blind (ACB). You will find more information about ACB below. At the last event we raised over $7,000 in donations. This time we are attempting to top $10,000. This will be a unique jump featuring John Fleming, Perris’ only blind skydiver. He is one of only a few blind skydivers in the world. He had logged over a thousand skydives previous to a degenerative eye disease taking his sight and has made over five hundred jumps since with the aid of radios. We will build a twenty person formation around John in the sky. The formation will be in the shape of a human eye and video will once again be made available to the media. Three stations in Los Angeles aired footage of our last jump bringing even more much needed attention and donations to ACB. We could all use a few 'feel good' stories right about now, right? Each of us (the twenty formation jumpers and two camera jumpers) will be required to collect a minimum of $250 in donations to participate. I know that all of us get asked to give to something or somebody nearly everyday whether it's requested by mail, phone, or by the poor wretch on the freeway off-ramp with his hand out. So, --NO PRESSURE HERE!-- If you think this is a worthy endeavor and would like to donate, any amount you can give to the cause will be greatly appreciated. Checks should be made out to: American Council of the Blind. To make your canceled check a legal tax receipt, write Charitable Donation in the memo section. If you are sending a cash donation (checks are preferred) and need a receipt for tax purposes, one will be made available. If you would like to help, PM me and I’ll send along my address. For more information you can contact Mike at: Ph. 818-904-9494 or by email at Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Most Gratefully, Curt Frye http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  10. I'd put at least 4 screws in from the bottom. I have that setup in my helmet and it works great. Also, use some clear nail polish around the hole openings to stop any fraying of the carbon fiber. The stuff raises havoc with electronics. Luck. Curt http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  11. It's not a lucrative sport simply for one reason: It's not a spectator sport. For the most part, the "normal" human won't see anything skydiving related until the canopies are out (CRW) or swoopers are in action. And then, through the magic of TV, they will only see bits and pieces, and a few dramatic wipeouts shown by rating hunters. You can't sit in an arena and watch it, you can't cuss out the refs, and no one serves hotdogs and over priced beer in the stands. Now, on the other hand, I know of a few people who have made a good life in skydiving. Teaching and coaching, video work and dropzpne ownership are the best ways to made money in skydiving. Even then, unless your VERY lucky....you might just make ends meet. It comes down to if they can see it, it might be popular, if they can't...it doesn't exist. Besides, we're a bunch of long haired, druggies, who sleep around, get drunk, O.D. and go in....and still look purty! Who in their right mind would sponser that?!? Just a thought..... http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  12. Sounds like both parties were at fault on this one. When learning Freeflying, if possible get out last. As G.G. said, it gives some some additional room to work with. Secondly, if ground speed was only 50 mph, the other party shold have waited. Glad you're safe. Would have been interesting video! Safe ones, Curt http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
