The Economic Fallout Has Decimated the Black Middle Class
vortexring replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
What? So black people carry out obvious crimes and are therefore more easily caught, whilst white people carry out more covert crimes so are less likely to be caught, with the underlying insinuation that both white and black people carry out equal amounts of crime - only that the criminal acts differ a little; such as blacks carry out numerous street robberies, whilst whites carry out numerous office type robberies. . . .oh fucking hell - maybe you're on to something after all . . . . 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.' -
The Economic Fallout Has Decimated the Black Middle Class

Perhaps it does. But how would you know they're not less intelligent than whites, or more criminally inclined for that matter? They're better boxers than white men. They're better sprinters. There's a lot of differences. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.' -
It's a crime if you commit a crime. And aren't you now commiting a crime dreamdancer? It's past 9 O'clock. Mummy will be ever so unhappy to realise you haven't gone to bed yet. The Economic Fallout Has Decimated the Black Middle Class

It reminds me of when the Chief of the London Met. police quoted a statistic which said most crime commited was by young black males. Imagine the screeching and hollering as people ran for their outrage bus over this racist remark? Racist my ass - it's a statistic. Perhaps the reasons for such a statistic have more to do with, as you say, economics and social issues. More black people in the UK and USA are in poverty than white, hence the reasons for commiting more crimes. The question therefore lies with what are the reasons for more blacks being in poverty than whites? That's where the real interest is. As usual, it seems erricomalatesta, having discharged his peculiar brand of poison, is no longer willing to remain within its domain. That isn't a PA either. I'd consider calling your nations servicemen and women pieces of shit a PA. Especially in regards to those of us here, who serve or have served. And for those of us who've lost friends and family through their service to their nation. Despite how loathesome certain politicians can be, isn't it truly honerable and worthy to serve ones country, to put that country before themselves? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Errico; if you're wishing to put your support of the Taliban into some action, why not do some entertaining for them on a thursday night: http://sheikyermami.com/2008/06/22/afghanistan-thursday-night-is-boyz-night/ I'm sure they'll appreciate it, and you can tell them what pieces of shit your fellow country men are as well. Indeed it's been known about for years. Tory leader David Cameron has already denounced the shortage of helicopters as a scandal, accusing Mr Brown of slashing the helicopter budget when he was Chancellor. How enlightening. So should NATO have been better off doing nothing and allow the Taliban to harbour Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan? edit: Thanks for calling many of my close friends who recently died serving their countries in Iraq and Afghanistan pieces of shit. I'm sure their wives and children will appreciate that as much as I do. I am curious as to why you hold your nations military in such disdain. Care to explain? Gag a maggot? That's a term commonly used to describe a particularly bad smell, as in: 'That could gag a maggot!'. So let's hear your tales then. What was the smell? Did you fall into an overused shitpit or something? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Of course, we're more than happy to instead wait for 62 (?) Westland Wildcats (Future Lynx) to come into service by 2014 (??) for a reported price of around £1 Billion and reject offers from Sikorsky for 60 Blackhawks which we could have received in 2008 & 9 for around £480 million. . . . 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

The article isn't simply an account of an officer expressing his grief. Did you take any time to consider the idiots who refuse to fund the conflict adequetly yet continually preach it's justness and importance? The same people who justified expenses of nearly £100 million for items such as gardening equipment, wallpaper, cleaners, second houses their children lived in, tax dodges, a floating duck house FFS; the list goes on. What do our political masters believe the troops think when they're busy fiddling their expenses whilst your average soldier is fighting for his life on below the national minimum wage for the hours worked? Why they have to rely on charities such as Help For Hereos to fund rehabilitation programs? You [erricomalatesta] talk of social injustice, such as ''redistribution of wealth & reorganization of social structures'', yet before you is an article that highlights how clear it is that our political masters have no intention of properly addressing the needs arising from the social injustice of an army at war that is not fully supported. Is that how you value their sacrifice? You share a similiar level of contempt that the goverment continually demonstrates? Suck it up? Don't join? Shouldn't your contempt be directed towards the people who deserve it - rather than towards the people who actually understand and breathe courage, discipline, selfless commitment, & loyalty. Values you both somehow can't comprehend going by your flippant remarks of such people. Speaks volumes of yourselves really. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

He means 'instictive' in a similiar way to 'balaclarva'. I think. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Have a read of this excellent article if you've any interest in the conflict: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/there-is-no-refuge-no-place-to-go-to-deal-with-your-grief-1769938.html I'd imagine that despite the author being anonymous, the 'thought police' will soon be on to him. Pity. 'In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act' 1984, George Orwell Any opinions will be, as always, appreciated. My point was made to mostly take the piss, but also to question anyones answer a little bit deeper. I'm now convinced most people would instinctively save the stranger. It's like the analogy I gave earlier about the baby crying in the woods. Who would you have picked up first? Kitty cat or baby? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Hahahaha! You utter bastard! 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

So if you ended up saving Osama Bin Laden whilst your dog died. . . 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Of course, but the further point is that you cannot know these parameters. To be honest, nobody really knows what they'd do unless they've been in such a situation. And would they do the same thing again? It's why it's a good question. Would you even consider if a strangers life is worth saving over your pets? You wouldn't have time. You'd simply just react in what can only be best described as the way you, as an individual, are hard wired to react in such circumstances. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Eh? Enjoy what? Saving someones pet then reaching for a drowning Robert Mugabe to only smash his teeth in with a lead cosh? Of course you'd enjoy it! 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

My point was only that the stranger might have children. Sweet little innocent children, upset and confused over the reasoning of somebody who saved their pet dog when they could've saved their Mummy.
-
Would you continue to remain secure in the knowledge that your decision was the right one when the strangers little children beg you to explain to them why you saved your dog over their Mummy? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Depends what you regard as 'a lot'. Percentage of the civilised world? I'd then call it a large minority, because most people are aware of what's right and wrong. For 100% of cats, it's just right. End of. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
-
Disagree. Cats don't know they're being cruel. It's a cat for Christs sake. They've no concept of the meaning. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

My cat was forever doing that. Bringing home little skylarks, rats, mice, voles, and the odd partridge or pheasant. His favourite was baby rabbits though, and it'd piss me off no end to hear some little rabbit screaming it's head off 6 o'clock on on a Sunday morning. But I discovered a solution! The odd time the animal would be relatively unscathed, as I'd see the cat jump over the fence with it in his mouth, so I'd be able to intervene prior to the cat getting medieval on the rat. I'd verbally scold the cat; something along the lines of: 'Ya wee bastard' a couple of times. If the animal was dead or a bit mangled, I'd throw it into my neighbours garden and stick the cat in the house for a bit. But this is the brilliant part; the other day my neighbour came over and told me about my cat continually leaving dead baby rabbits at his back window!!! 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
