  1. When she plays too rough if you say "RROWWRRROWRR", let whatever's being attacked go limp, and then ignore the kitten she should learn to behave when playing with other people and animals. You and your dog should then be fine as long as you avoid playing with the irresistably cute soft kitten belly that's protected by fangs and claws, especially when kitty is most adorable and sleeping. If not, you might learn your lesson (people are probably harder to teach than dogs) Sisal rope scratching posts/surfaces in your kitten's preferred orientation (horizontal or vertical), in the rooms she likes to scratch in, and the Invisible Water Spray Bottle of Ghod might avoid furniture scratching; although I didn't care enough about my college era couch to be consistant about that so it's more theoretical. Thankfully, the kitten seems to be seeking out my Gracie and nudging up against her -- too cute!! She ran up my couch yesterday after I took away my dog's food bowl. She (kitten) was very upset. Other than that she is just soooo sweet and lets me kiss her face to no end. I have my concerns -- as a first time cat owner -- but my heart is comepletely warmed up by her cuteness!! 2. Thank you so much for the feedback. I am going to try the product and see how it goes. Little Katana has scratched me and bitten me once (ouch!!) but it was my own fault -- she seems to like my dog's food and I attempted to take away and keep her from it. Anywho, I'm slowly learning and the dog and kitten seem to be warming up to each other. The kitten and "old grumpy cat" seem to be having a bit more difficulty. 7. ____________________________________________________ I LOVE it when that happens to me!! It's ususally a $20 bill -- dunno why I have such a tendency to just put those in my pocket!! As to good news - I was offered a job today!!! Terms are not too shaby -- only drawback, it is in the town I currently live in. But, WOO-HOO anyway!!!! I never had lists about superficial looks... I wanted a man who was intelligent, funny, loving, with a good heart.... Well, I have that someone..... Lists just serve to exclude wonderful people (IMHO)..
  12. Very cute!!! Well, being a proud mom, here are some of Katana again... Character cannot be made except by a steady, long continued process. -- Phillips Brooks
  13. I certainly understand the aguments against the procedure and did not want this thread to go into a heated debate about it. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful input. I especially appreciate it, having never before been a cat mom!!!
  14. I did read about the spray water bottle as a method to train and will try it. I'll also get her a scratching post and already got her a cute fuzzy and cudly lamb with cat nip inside. She has gone nuts over it, just tossing it up in the air!! It's the cutest!!! Character cannot be made except by a steady, long continued process. -- Phillips Brooks
  15. Thanks RoadRash. Thankfully, Katana is already spayed.
  16. Thanks Michele. The rep at PetSmart did clip her nails/claws and we got a special clipper. Although not many responses, I believe I am going to get the soft paws 'cause I also don't like the idea of declawing. I did hear from my b/f earlier and he said that Katana nuzzled my dog Gracie!!! The funny thing is that Gracie was sooo excited when she first saw Katana until Katana hissed at her. Gracie is just soooo sweet and I do believe they will get along!! Thanks again!!
  17. That's too bad!! I looked up the website and they are too cute -- different colors and all!!
  18. _________________________________________________ Sweet revenge!! P.S. Really, I absolutely love the "mean" cat -- Bob. She's just been the "only" cat around for many years. She she does deserve a bark or two!!! Character cannot be made except by a steady, long continued process. -- Phillips Brooks
  19. The cat's "finger" is amputated at the nuckle by the claw. Character cannot be made except by a steady, long continued process. -- Phillips Brooks
  20. I couldn't find anything under "declawing" or "soft paws" when I did search. I certainly don't want to get into a big discussion about the procedure itself and was really just interested about the "soft paws" product. Didn't (don't) want to incite too much trouble!! 21. Well, I'm overprotective as hell so I don't think "Katana" would ever get out. However, anything is possible, especially natural disasters and such, which is why I hesitate in considering it. I really would like to try the "soft paws" and really hope others have had good experiences with product.
  22. So my b/f and I just got a kitten. She's about 2 months old now and really no trouble, other than hissing at my 6 year old dog -- who is a complete scardy "cat"!! Question: I've been researching the whole "declawing" issue and gather it is a HOT topic. I have never owned a cat before and instinctively don't like the idea of declawing. My concern is not one for furniture or curtains etc. I am worried about the kitten -- soon to be full fledged cat -- hurting my dog. My dog already gets bullied by the b/f's 13 year old cat -- a lot of slapping around with my poor dog on the receiving end! Who knows anything about the "soft paws" nail caps? Does the product really work? I would soooo love to opt for this choice BUT have to maintain my dog's well being in mind. Please help!!

  24. So, thanks to everyone for all the great name ideas. Gogglesnteeth and I have decided on Katana. What a cutie!!!! Character cannot be made except by a steady, long continued process. -- Phillips Brooks
