The last week or so, I've been stuck on Janis Joplin. What awesome talent!! Exquisite room!!!! I had all kinds of ideas for paintings on the wall, but we don't want to stay in our house too long and I don't want to repaint when we sell. But, again, wow!!! Kudos to your hard work and lucky baby!!! Thanks for sharing!!

So my husband and I are having a baby -- due (hopefully) in 6 weeks. We have been working on the room and aside from a few final touches (shelfs on the wall and other frames) it is mostly done. However, my husband and I would like to hang the main Winnie the Pooh characters from the ceiling right above the crib from parachutes. I don't want to use silly plastic ones and would like to sew them (nothing intricate with container) but still make them fairly simple but real looking. I attached a pic of the room and of the Pooh characters. Any ideas or patterns for the toy parachutes? I can't find anything in those dimensions online other than the old round parachutes. Thanks a bunch!!!

We never did try the "soft claws" product. However, the kitty and my doggy (Gracie) get along really great. I send my dog to spend time with my parents sometimes and when she comes back home she searches for kitty (Katana) and gives her a ton of kisses. No harm or any fights ever between them.

First of all, I must say that all of you DZ.commers are awesome. So my husband and I were talking about this yesterday. At that point I was thoroughly annoyed by my husband's constant tale over the past few days of his old (home DZ) friends calling him and emailing him about this 20 something hot chick (from home DZ) who was in the area (about 150 miles away) and they wanted to get them hooked up for some fun skydives. I am currently 7.5 months pregnant and have little to NO patience for anything. Hormones raging through my body (with perhaps a bit of unnecessary jealousy) I told him "by the way, if any of your skydiving friends are in town and want to spend the night, the answer is NO. That includes male and female skydivers." My husband proceeded to say "well depending on who it is I may have to twist your arm" to which I replied "yeah, it ain't gonna happen." In my defense, I am an only child who NEVER had any roommates and very few very well known and picked friends. I have NEVER shared my home with anyone (not even old boyfriends, except for the overnight stay) and my husband is the first person aside from my parents with whom I have lived. I am also not a skydiver, although I did make the attempt, and have not had the fortune of sharing that wonderful camaraderie that I see in these forums. All the above being said, I feel pretty comfortable to say that MANY of the posters here on DZ.com would be welcomed to stay at our home as would be my husband's friends from his home DZ. Funny enough, I'm not too familiar with John Mayer. I saw a pic of him on a magazine the other day, and boy is he TALL!! Dave Matthews just has that voice that cannot be mistaken and that little side smile is TOO cute!!!

I am so sorry for your loss, MagicGuy. You have every right to be emotional about this situation. Although vets and doctors are not infallible, suing is not the answer. I am an attorney and HATE lawsuits. Just know that you loved your pup and her death is NOT your fault. You entrusted her to your vet and more than likely nothing negligent was done to her. Allow yourself time to grieve and move on. One of the other posters suggested you go to the shelter and essentially "save a life" and do it in her name and memory. Best wishes to you and to your little pup across the rainbow bridge!!

I agree with you that the show is missing "something". However, the casting I absolutely love!!! I did not think that I could, but I cannot even remember Chandler. To me, Perry does seem darker in this role and for some reason I could watch without making the comparison. I love Amanda Peet and all the others. I am very sad the show has been canned!!! I feel for your situation. I always mailed back EVERYTHING to my exes. The only exception: two very expensive "Seraphin" angels that I just could not be selfless enough to give back. I have told my husband their origin and he is ok with it. I kept and keep them because they are beautiful and classy and I collect angels. My husband and I are in our mid thirties and we have accumulated many things throughout our lives. I don't ask where he got his things or who gave them to him -- they are his. However, if he asked me to get rid of these two angels -- I SIMPLY WOULD!!! Relationships and marriage are hard enough without bringing into them silly conflicts. Should you have purchased that mug yourself and your wife insist you get rig of it -- then I would perhaps see her as being manipulative. She does not seem that way to me from what you have posted. I would never tell you what to do since you are the one in your situation. However, if you talk to her and try to make sure you understand her reasons, perhaps ask her to get you a similarly crude mug, or, silly I know, have another imprinted with whatever yours currently says, then make your decision. In marriage, it is not as easy as saying get over it!!!! It is marriage and it takes a lot to make it work. If you love each other and you both accept each other for what you are, then the goal should be to make each other happy... Good luck to you!!!
