I think i can make it. I'll try to drag sassy with me. We've been mostly freeflying lately but RW is like riding bicycle, right?....... right? first motivation was sassy rodriguez daring me to take up her sport (skydiving) and telling me I had to teach her to hang-glide so I did Aff level 1. 3 months later I hurt myself hang-gliding, watched a bunch of sassy's videos and decided maybe skydiving was safer than hang-gliding so I went on to finish AFF. I went to Atlanta Airsportz on Saturday and had a fantastic time. What a friendly bunch of people. AND what an awesome day. From freeflying with Kat and Eric Deren to lurking a tandem (my date) to a really cool night jump, it was one of my best skydiving days to date. It all culminated with Eric mixing vodka and Red Bulls to help wash down the chicken barbeque, mashed potatoes and brocoli. My date, the tandem student, hung around from morning through night jumps and was never bored. Everyone was so friendly to her that she didn't feel out of place at all. And Kat, we should have taken you up on your generous offer to stay the night. We never did get out to Ballyhoos and I never got out to SDA on Sunday. I'm not sure if this is right or not because I haven't seen that speed before but my ProTrack recorded a 257 on a solo hd yesterday in Z Hills. Yes - for great dzs within 3-4 hours, Perris or Elsinore. I went to the dz in Jean 2 weeks ago. Nice people but it is a small 2-Cessna dz and it is a little pricey. $19 to 10k. GRRRRR... don't get me started - pre 7/2001 - my company - $10 million in gross revenues, 80 employees, almost no debt. 2002 - expected gross revenues short of $5 million, 34 employees, somewhere around $1.2 million in debt - all personally guaranteed. Damned economy cutting into my sleep, gear and travel money. AND.... I have to work now - with my hands - like 5 years ago.... Don't all cry for me at once. I'm only 37 - I can afford the humility and character-building experience this has been. nothing special going on - just stuck there for the weekend. figured better there than Madison, WI - my next destination. Actually did my first jump at Skydive Atlanta. It will be my third time back. So how do I pick you guys out of the crowd? without going up and sniffing everyone to see if it's Clay? or Mike Hunt... vastly different smells I imagine. I know Doug Glover and Craig Knowlton a little, and Ferg is an acquaintance but how will I find you guys?
