  1. So I should send naked photos of myself to all the gals and Keith to sway their votes?
  2. I have few boundaries, so try me. So when are you going to offer us photos of your ass in return? I know you've been working out hard, so it must be lookin' good by now.
  3. I'll post one if you come here and take it for me
  4. Looks like we're going to have to mud wrestle for him I dunno... John might enjoy that. I leave the computer for a few hours to go to dinner and look what I miss! Let's not fight, kids, there's plenty to go around. Though watching mud wrestling could be fun... Great job Scott and TrophyHusband. (Nice butt!) Looking forward to hearing what the judges have to say. And back by popular demand just for Sartre...
  5. Sure. Here ya go (along with the before pics) EDIT: Oops -- I just attachd the uncropped version of my date shot by mistake (a bit too much below the waist) Did anybody click fast enought to catch that one? QuoteJohn, you should post your after pics here for all to see. You've worked damn hard!
  6. Just send my after pics to Peter. Are we really down to two contestants and just one judge??
  7. Well, I've been working my ass off (or rather working out to try to build myself an ass) and can honestly say that I would still be on said ass every night downing Ben and Jerry's if it hadn't been for this contest and regular emails from Sartre keeping my butt in gear, so thanks to whoever's idea this was. I'll take some updated pics tomorrow. Any volunteers with Photoshop willing to fuse my before/after pics into a single shot under 100kb? TIA. John PS So who is on the panel of judges?
  8. Thanks for all the recs so far. I was hoping to at least narrow it down to a couple to start with, so you've all helped with that. My Javelin J4 is designed to hold up to a 210, so it is pretty huge. Thus I think I'd rather go with something smaller and less obtrusive (why the hell do we have to wear these damn rigs anyway -- they just get in the way! ) rather than add padding. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll also be sure to keep beard size in mind when taking anybody's advice seriously -- very good point. John
  9. I'm new to the Gear and Rigging forum. A friendly hello to all. I've downsized to a Sabre II 150 and have realized that my Javelin J4 is a bit too large at this point, so I need to find myself a different container. I'm looking at also getting a new reserve (PD) that would be about the same or one size larger than my main. Since my first (and only) rig came complete, I've never have had to shop around so I'm a bit lost on where to start. I'm 6'1" and pretty lean, so I'm hoping to find something that would be suited for a taller guy that is also very freefly friendly. Would certain brands be better than others in this case? I'm open to advice if anybody has any recommendations. Thanks! John
  10. Yes. I'm going to be missing my mother's 70th birthday to be there. I'm going to need LOTS to drink to appease the guilt... Does that mean you should be on the list? johnsw71 NWFlyer
  11. Uh-oh. I see another magic carpet ride straight to hell out of the Skyvan in my near future.
  12. 0:22:0 Awesome weekend in SoCal at Elsinore. Met tons of cool folks, did some hella fun jumps and hopefully got just slightly better.
  13. Thanks for letting us know, Frank. What a shock. I just saw him not that long ago in Hollister. He always remembered my name and greeted my with that warm and friendly smile no matter how long it had been since I had seen him last. Blue skies, Vince. John
  14. Bingo. Head position and not having my legs extended enough seem to be my main problem, turning it into and endless cycle. Try to move forward, float up b/c legs are not extended, look down to the group thinking "that's where I want to be", end up actually backsliding b/c I'm looking down. The end result is always being up and away from the group. I've found it very hard to resist the urge to look down at where I want to be, always making things worse. I've also found that extending my legs first (as suggested above) and THEN leaning back is helping a lot. Thanks for all the comments!
  15. I don't see any guys posting, so I'll step up to the plate. So are any of the guys even LEFT in this contest??? Anyone up for celebrating our newly in-shape bods with a naked skydive when this thing is over? Bonnie, you in? John PS Warm round of applause to Bonnie for using that hot, sleek new bod of hers to paste my before and after pics together like a pro!
  16. I have changed my avatar before, but now I cannot seem to get it to accept the new photo I'm trying to put in. The photo is a jpeg file under 10kb and smaller than the pixel size limit in both dimensions. I've cleared out my old avatar photo, but every time I select the new one in "Browse" and click update changes, it brings up my old photo again. Any suggestions? Thanks! John
  17. Wowzers! You look great, Bonnie! The smile on your face says it all! I have my "after" photos, but I don't have Photoshop to fuse them into one image with my before shots. Any volunteers to help me out? John
  18. Just out of curiosity, and if you don't mind, could you summarize what exactly you did over the last three months to get your results? Whatever it was, it sure did work!
  19. Wow!!! Major congratulations! You look great! I'm glad you aren't competing against the guys! It occurred to me that since very successful participants in this will probably have to downsize canopies, we should have gone after PD to sponsor a new canopy for a prize.
  20. Just drove back to the city from Skydance in Davis (Eastbound I-80). So THAT's what the back-up was all about. Surprisingly, though, it was only backed up for about two miles and it only took about 20 minutes to get through the mess. I was in line on the Bay Bridge for a whopping 3 minutes.
  21. QuotePlanning on being there to get monkey boy his first ticket up and a few for me too I'll be there that weekend as well. We may have to duke it out to see who gets to buy Monkey Boy his first jump ticket, tho. Roll Call: Feeblemind Fozz Monkycndo Johnsw71
  22. Such as "You see, I was violently waving my middle finger in outrage towards your blatent stupidity and incessant rambling when my flying birdie inadvertently hit the disconnect button. I'm terribly sorry."?? Uh, I'd skip the apology and go straight for the vacation.
  23. So how's everybody doing? I haven't seen much chat about the BO lately. Hope not too many potential six-packs have been drowning in kegs. Somehow, this stupid contest has turned into the best motivator I've ever had to get into shape. I haven't had a bite of ice cream in over six weeks now (definitely the longest I've gone since birth), and I'm now in the best shape I've ever been in my life thanks to a much better diet and some serious exercise/lifting. Thanks!! I'm still marveling at how competition with a group of people I've never even met (well, except one) has been able to motivate me so much. The other funny thing is that I don't even give a rat's ass about winning or about doing better than everybody else. I just want to look damn good for once. Hope that the rest of you are keeping up with it. If not, there are still six weeks left to make a difference! Thanks all for the motivation. John
