  1. The guy was asked if he had been to the Stampede? That is justification for suspecting that you might need a gun? get fucking real. It was just as likely that the people in the park were simply Stampede revelers having a good time. And asking if you were having a good time too. CALGARY STAMPEDE! WOO!! Most Canadians are friendly enough to say "hi" to strangers on the street. hundreds of thousands of people go to stampede every year to have a good time, get drunk as shit and party. to the paranoid delusional Michigan cops....if you feel unsafe without your handgun, then don't go.....
  2. if you are basing presidency on slogans, then I think you need you head examined.....slogans are for elections. policy is what makes the country run. The president does not dictate policy. Congress does. Congress is the biggest failure of this country despite what any president might say or pretend to do. ANd yes, there is another election coming up, if you had not noticed, the rhetoric is pretty shallow on both ends.....
  3. we don't have any problem with increasing the 'maximum' wage.....the top end sees their increases regularly. I have no idea why this principle cannot be applied to the bottom end. Probably because if they did that, the top end might not be able to see their increases.....or at least to the extent they do. https://www.google.com/search?q=ceo+pay+stil+rising%3F&rlz=1C1CHFA_enUS484US484&sugexp=chrome,mod=18&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#hl=en&rlz=1C1CHFA_enUS484US484&sa=X&ei=yrMkUOHeIOLY0QG6xoGwDA&ved=0CF4QvwUoAQ&q=ceo+pay+still+rising%3F&spell=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.&fp=d685fff75e178b89&biw=1410&bih=882
  4. every time I jump, I have a stomach full of warm vomit, - never bothered me that much.....and I think it was spread to everyone else too.....
  5. [url]http://thenewjimcrow.com/*** Take all the race stuff out of it. Chapter 2 and the last chapter, which kind of summarizes the whole situation is pretty scary and demonstrates that the system is obviously rigged to keep people cycling into the system. No one wants to 'not' be tough on crime, but the fact is the criminal justice system in this country does not work. 3 million people in prison is doing nothing for the rates of crime, and it needs a serious overhaul. And there is no study anywhere that says the death penalty does anything for crime.
  6. It took me a while to find the time to read it, but it is a good read. The points that I see in it: 1. Primarily, there is no indication that ANY of their findings has or will lead to voter fraud. In fact, they only make one vague reference to the susceptibility of voter fraud. 2. - these people, I expect will not vote. no problem. 3. These people still will almost certainly only vote in one place - they may not even remember that they are also registered somewhere else. 4. I see this as not a fraud problem, but a "How do we get more people to register" problem? 5. Go Canada! 6. WTF? I find this disturbing. Instead of trying to find ways for us to remove people from the roles (the current legislation), maybe we should be spending our time trying to find ways to get valid votes and fixing the errors on the provisional ballots, instead of discounting them. This will not only improve the voting system, but will also minimize the effect of voter fraud (if there is any). This is a budget and staffing problem. 7. Hmmm, so stricter banking regulations to help prevent things like the collapse of the housing market are also good for the electoral system? Hmmmm.... 8. Damn straight skippy! I demand and expect my election offices to do everything they can to get votes in, get them counted, get them accurate and get as many people into the system as possible. I do not see this as a problem, but a reality. Again, budget and staffing. I would rather spend money trying to make votes 'valid' and fix the errors, than spending money removing votes and voters. 9. Go Canada! sounds like there is a lot of room for improvement. But back to the main thread. There still is no indication one way or the other that voter fraud is a statistical issue. Helping people vote and helping people register to vote should be the motivation - not only will it fix the problems listed in the article, it will further minimize any effect that voter fraud may have. Instead we waste our time trying to limit the people that have already registered ad deny them their rights. This is not a republican or democrat problem, it is a system problem and further demonstrates how stupid we are as a society that we cannot address the real issues (not enough people registered to vote), but focus on the smokescreen of 'voter fraud'.
  7. Picture a private market that 15 years, ago which doing fine with higher taxes...
  8. The first retaliation for 9/11 was a white guy who shot a Sikh outside his gas station a few days after 9/11, assuming he was a Muslim. If Americans are really this stupid, is there justification for allowing them to have guns? I mean really? Our society is a danger to itself. We are the laughing stock of the world, but that's Ok 'cause we don't really give a shit about the rest of the world anyway. I think a lot of Americans couldn't find the 'world' on a map.... But no we don't have a 'gun problem'
  9. at least we agree on the cause and keep up that work. Of course my solution would be to stop having funerals for soldiers, by not getting them killed in the first place.....not likely to happen in the USA any time soon.
  10. I am tired of you spending my tax dollars fighting some imaginary cause for 'my benefit' and then claiming that I owe you something for it. You have choices, if you didn't want to put your family at risk, then DON'T - but don't fucking claim that you were fighting some cause for me..... fuckin' prima donna
  11. if you are the only one who 'gets it', then perhaps there is nothing to 'get' and it is all in your head.
  12. exactly my point - too much spending. The 'fiscal cliff' addresses both revenues and spending, hence the entire point I was making..... but thanks for helping to make my point.
  13. Taxes matter? sure they do. 30 years ago we were more prosperous and we had higher taxes. show me otherwise.
  14. 'creator' does not mean 'god' and life liberty and pursuit of happiness is not in the bible nor part of any Christian doctrine. Those 'rights' you speak of are man-made
  15. No, the declaration of independence is independent of the Constitution, they are not 'chapters' of the same document. And if you want to lump all the documents together, then you would also have to include the Treaty of Tripoli and dozens of Supreme Court rulings. Been down this road so many fucking times, it actually no longer interests me, i bores me. The guys who wrote the Constitution were some pretty frickin' smart guys. And they had plenty of forethought and debate. And they had EVERY opportunity to write Christianity and/or God into the Constitution... but they did not.
  16. part of the email from my Congressman: "At this point, you’ve probably heard about the “fiscal cliff” coming at the country on January 1st. This is a mix of the so-called sequestration cuts that are due to gut the military, and a whole host of expiring tax provisions." it goes on about all the problems related to this.... Let's see - we are going to let tax cuts expire, therefore raising revenues. And we are going to cut spending (i.e. the military for one but certainly not exclusively) and somehow this is a problem? Sounds like good economic policy and a step towards getting us out of debt. Only a politician could find a problem with attempts to balance the budget while at the same time screaming that no one is trying to balance the budget. My Republican clown is about as good as the last Republican clown we had here in Florida....
  17. +1 The words do not say 'god' anywhere. Your interpretation might....but interpretations of the Constitution are generally the exclusivity of the realm of the Supreme Court, which refers to, and only to, the Constitution for its rulings.....
  18. Well, 'natural laws' were created by man, and if they were truly 'natural' and denoted freedoms then swine and fowl would share in those same laws- but they (amongst most other species) do not And natural laws have nothing to do with god, especially if you do not believe in gods....
  19. you earn money, you pay taxes - it's that simple. been doing it for decades and I am still ahead. They will be too.....
  20. Hey me and Ron agree on something....... Would be nice to see 2000 PGR's surround the dozen or so WBC's and watch them shit their pants..... do nothing but close in on them.....
  21. I thought our freedoms were granted in the Constitution? I do not remember reading about 'god' there....

    OOOOOOPSIE

yep, certainly seeing a naked boob would corrupt a child forever.....only American 'values' could see a problem with it, apparently Americans do not connect with European media at all.... http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerderby/2009/04/BreastisBestor.jpg
  23. Why is a PRIVATE organization, like the NCAA being expected to vet the punishment for a criminal act? Why is law enforcement not going further to prosecute the higher-ups in the university that were part of the cover-ups? NCAA is not a law enforcement agency - they are only out to protect their multi-billion dollar marketing and slave trade. At least the civil courts will likely sue Penn State out of existence. This smells all too much of the Catholic church.
  24. If that is true, then why do you spend so much time pushing your personal 'redemption' onto others..... with posts like "the church should......"
