  1. I think if the US ICE was to arrest anyone at the border, there would have to be arrest warrants already issued. I am pretty sure that ICE has little or no interest in collecting IRS debts, no more than collecting other debts, but seems to be a common urban myth about crossing borders. My folks worry about stuff like that all the time, diligently worry about having an accident or getting sick, not getting back in the country if they had an outstanding bill etc. Valid concerns as a human being, but I think the number of arrest warrants issued to foreigners over tax evasion is probably immeasurable.
  2. You mena I have been misled all these years? OMG!!
  3. I prayed today - nothing happened.
  4. When I moved here, I was expected to pay taxes in both Canada and the US regardless of where the money was earned. That is the law in both countries. Fuck that - because the law can only be ENFORCED in one or the other - so people get to choose. Not sure how they expect people to file tax returns if they are simply 'residents' with no SSN's, They can make all the rules they want - does not mean the rules are enforceable. Every objective must be measurable, definable and attainable or it is a complete waste of time. These sorts of rules are not actually attainable, nor barely measurable.
  5. Ryan SHOULD be leading Republicans to the promised land - but due to protocol, he is not allowed to outshine the presidential candidate, so he takes a back seat and shuts up. The right-wing does not have the balls to stand up and say what is REALLY on their mind - they might actually win if they did, and so Ryan sits there stifled. I'm not saying it is good or bad, it is just the way that it is....
  6. the latest in grab-bag desperate attempts by the right-wing to discredit the president for a program started by congress in 1999. no wonder the right is going to lose. Where was Obama in 1999 anyway? If we are going to blame Obama for previous problems, then I guess we get to blame him for invading Iraq and 9/11 right? And the Iran-Contra Affair and for that matter watergate too.
  7. I God is so almighty powerful and omnipotent, then he could simply have his political will with a simple thought and it would be. But it ain't and he can't
  8. And God said, “Let there be light Romney,” and there was light Romney.
  9. 30,000 children starve to death in the world every day.....
  10. Nothing fails like prayer..... And what if Obama has more people praying for him than you do?
  11. The French had a revolution and beheaded them all. They started over with a system that takes care of the people. And as much as everyone likes to heckle the French - the one thing the French do really really well, is take care of the French. There is plenty the Middle class can do. 1 million or more people marching on Washington would probably change things too, 200,000,000 people taking the government to court on a class action lawsuit might do it as well. 200M people writing the letters to their congressmen might work as well. But things will probably have to get a whole lot worse before it get to a point where people take real action....just like in France....
  12. No he did not - the State of Hawaii produced his birth certificate. So if there is a conspiracy I guess you should be going after the Secretary of State of Hawaii http://hawaii.gov/ltgov/office/apostilles have at it.
  13. fixed that for you. the best I could. If you think that doctors are 'unionized', then you need your head examined. Go talk to your family doctor and ask him about the hassles of collecting from insurance companies. And if you think that the insurance companies are not lobbying DC, then you also need your head examined. The ACA is a gold mine for them, they love it. They will make billions billions and billions of dollars by forcing legislation so we all have to buy health INSURANCE, not health CARE.
  14. And that is why the ACA will fail - we are not delivering health care - only insurance. It was a compromise to get it passed and it is destined to fail. The right wing, instead of repealing it, should focus on letting it run as it would be a huge black-eye to Obama. Instead they wil try to repeal it again and if they win and are successful, I expect in 4 years, another 15-20% of Americans will no longer have health insurance, the system will begin to crumble.
  15. explain please. A few specific examples of how 'government interference' is causing the insurance prices to rise. I think insurance companies are trying to make a profit for their shareholders, and THAT would be the primary reason that premiums are rising.
  16. so then you agree that the system today is working and that rising rates for insurance are just fine? Glad we cleared that up.
  17. No we do not - no one can afford 'health care' except those that can afford it. It's an old Ron Hill debate that actually means nothing so I will not really get sucked into it as it is not relevant to the conversation. The USA does not have a system of 'health care'. It has a system of 'health insurance'. Health CARE is not delivered by the government nor insurance companies. Health INSURANCE is. Health CARE is delivered by doctors and hospitals, etc - and can only be afforded by very few in this country and while it is the (one of the) best health CARE systems out there, only a few can afford it. And while Skydive City (and tens of thousand of other businesses) do not provide 'health insurance' to their employees, we will soon have to provide something under the ACA. and we will, because it will be the law. And we will receive tex breaks for doing so. And it will be expensive but certainly more affordable than it is now. And the price of a jump ticket will go up probably, because everyone will do the same. We used to offer subsidized health insurance but two things happened. 1. it got really expensive and 2. because it got really expensive the staff stopped buying it because they could not afford their share either. If you want to get health care COSTS under control, that will require a 'SOCIAL'program to do so, not a capitalistic program. And this ACA program will fail because a capitalistic system is still in place and is the main reason that health CARE costs continue to rise, therefore insurance premiums will continue to rise. And when it does fail. The system will eb replaced by something like Medicare for all, single payer, or Universal Health Care and i will put my $100 that the Republican Party will be the govt that brings it into being. Believing in health care for everyone and then not buying it for everyone I come into contact with is not hypocritical - despite your best efforts to say that it is...... It's kind of like saying you believe in everyone carrying guns but then if you do not buy guns for everyone, then you are a hypocrite. Lame argument. If you want to debate Health Care, then there is plenty to debate about. If you want to point fingers and call names, well.......
  18. If Obama could control healthcare prices, then it would be called SOCIALISM. and the price would be $50/year. Same situation for gas - it would be $0.50/gallon, same for unemployment, which would be ZERO. Quit blaming the President for something that you would IN FACT be blaming him him for if he COULD control it.
  19. well in that case, we are 40 years after MLK and he IS a hero, so there is hope - BHO in 40 years will likely be a hero too....
  20. you don't think that the USA should have a common ground that is good for all people? I thought that was the basis of the Constitution and everything that we stood for. He advocates voting rights and employment equality....wow, how 'weird'. If MLK was sitting in that chair and said the same things, he'd be called a fucking hero, but because the 'other n----r' is sitting in the chair, he's a commie socialist.... Every right winger's hero Ronald Reagan actually opposed the voting rights act and the civil rights act.....now THERE's a hero to American equality and rights..... just calling it the way I see it.....
  21. you are welcome at Skydive City/Z-Hills with that and we can even help you continue your work on your CSPA A License,
  22. I got paid... I understand the need for trends and data, I am just saying that the average person has nothing in it for them to go through the effort of collecting that info and writing reports. Now if you got PAID to do that, there might be some incentive. Or if you got a beer for doing that, or sex, or a new car or some other reward. The 'reward' of data is simply not enough for most people.
  23. +1 - I choose the single payer, universal model right now over the US model. For every person who died in a single payer system waiting for health care delivery, I bet there are just as many or more dying in the USA due to lack of ANY delivery. And I know one or two myself personally. Although here they simply deny that this is true, after all - you can go into any emergency room and get free care any time - which of course is rubbish.
