Google "How Corporations Run Things" and find tons of articles about how poorly corporations are run, how the shareholders have no clue what is going on even though they 'own it', and they never get heard, how the executives first priority is paying themselves and even when they do poorly, they all make sure their contracts have huge bonuses for leaving......

Nashville TV News story on Skyride
tkhayes replied to BillyVance's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
not at my drop zone, and not at my last dropzone and not at the dropzone I was at prior to that. If customers were having the same issues at other dropzones, then more dropzones would have an 'F' rating with the BBB. I (we) have an A+ rating and Skyride has an 'F' rating. there is good reason for that - they are crooks and we are not. We try to make customers happy and they don't actually care about that, they only care about making the sale. -

it is sad and troublesome that after charges filed and won in Georgia, lawsuits in AZ, BBB with an F rating that no one is actually 'enforcing' anything against them. I still regularly deal with their 'disgruntled customers' here in Florida and I feel bad for them - they get fucked over by a bunch of cunts and there is nothing they can do about it. Skyride even had the gall to call me last year and ask if I would take up some of their customers "Just this one time" " for the good of the sport" because the customers would have to drive to Georgia from Tampa to do the jumps and they were pissed. I told Skyride that I would not sell them my snot. He did not seem to understand why I would feel that way. I guess when you get so used to stealing people's money every day that somehow you must eventually feel that you deserve it...... I used to have a bookkeeper like that once...... she's gonna go to jail for 10 years..... -
Fire-breathing ‘Supervan’ debuts

I find it VERY HARD to believe that any engine, no matter what it is, is going 7000 hours TBO. Cranking more horsepower out of powerplants, whether in cars or airplanes, takes a lot of stress on components. they wear and they wear faster than 'stock' engines. I would be interested to see what the real TBO times are going to be. It is a lot of money for a few minutes of climb time. -
http://www.christina.k12.de.us/AboutUs/index.htm Here is the link for the school board in charge of that school - get off your asses and write a letter or two - I did. Unless these people hear from the masses en masse, nothing will change and the rules will become more and more ridiculous. Next thing, they will start calling them 'dangerous offenders', and they will be labelled for life, unable to do anything in society due to past wrong-doings. I am tired of all-encompassing power over the entire universe, that is being held by agencies like the school board sin this case, DHS, the local fire departments, and several other agencies. I thought this was a free country

and this surprises you? on and on the debate goes..... just another 'unjust' example. I guess the kid should have some motivation then to lose weight. Maybe their parents should get off their lazy asses and get a real job so they can pay for any health issues out of their own pocket. After all, it is not OUR responsibility to take care of fat kids...... single payer - the only answer, the final answer - so fucking obvious that it makes me scratch my head. But instead we are gong to pass some half-assed legislation that is not going to fix a goddamn thing.

That is a massive misrepresentation of what I am saying and I ( once again ) would appreciate you and others not putting words in my mouth I do not have an issue with soldiers -I have an issue with the policies they have to implement and I am questioning why they get more than me in regards to health care now bite me.... -

Furthering Medical Trauma Reserch one soldier at a time!

A large chunk of the military never sees battle. A large chunk of the military sits behind a desk for their entire careers. Should I pay for their health care as well? And I did NOT suggest that they do nothing. I asked what have we done to NOT deserve the same treatment as them? they fight for our country - well I pay for it. So there......I think I have done my share no? (devil's advocate) -

you mean like work for a living and STILL not be able to afford health insurance? Is that 'paying your dues'? Back to the original arguments I have made time and time again NO ONE is advocating that health care is 'free',. everyone could and should pay NO ONE is advocating that health care is NOT expensive NO ONE is advocating that someone else should pay for it I am advocating that if the military gets it, the old folks get it, the very poor get it, the disabled get it, then it is a very small step for ALL of us to get it. And pay for it in exactly the same way as we do all those other programs. Thru the tax system. I am working for it and I can barely afford it, and I make decent money. Lots do not make decent money, but they could pay more income tax, and yes, they could all have health care (single payer). And the military is 'demanding' someone else pick up the tab - you and me...... -

no US soldier ever went bankrupt because of his health care needs (at least while they were in the military). That is the major difference. -

what did the rest of the country do to NOT deserve the same treatment as the military? (insofar as health care goes) -
OMIGOD - wonderful....I am a tech geek and had no idea you could do that. look ma, a clean Dropzone.com page.

giving up freedoms? Where did I say that? Are your referring to the 'freedom' to die because I cannot afford health care? Or it is just that I must be lazy and need to get a better job so I can pay for it? The 'freedom' to pollute the earth by tossing away anything i like in the trash and not have to worry about where it is going - but when it does become a problem, then I can blame someone else for not thinking of it sooner? THe 'freedom' to cut public education funding because if people really WANT to be smart - they will figure it out on their own? The 'freedom' to continue to burn oil at a pace that will not only destroy the environment, but the future of the country? try not to put words in my mouth please. I am willing to give up TAXES to pay for programs that serve the better good. THat is what I said, that is what I meant.

http://www.drugwarfacts.org/cms/node/53 If even part of this is true, then it is scary that we even care about pot. That is one in every 353 Americans is being arrested for Marijuana. Retarded. If each arrest costs say $500 in civic costs, taxes etc (I think a conservative #), then the cost each year is $424 Billion just for the arrests. On that premise alone, given the capitalistic nature of this country, you think everyone would be on the path of legalization just for the simple fact that it would reduce expenses to the country. time for more radical change.

go ahead and try and drown me with your crap - I am breathing just fine, thank you.....

not possible. God must have created the relic, then aged them and planted them for us to find so we would endlessly question our existence, which we would never be able to explain so that we would have to then believe in Him. Makes sense to me anyway......

even the republicans admit they seldom READ any bill before voting on it Obama does not actually write the bill, so write your congressman and make sure that it is included. I wonder how many 'illegals' are in the military , working in government jobs, etc already. It is a fact of life, while I agree with the position on illegals, I am NOT going to stop a bill for health care for such a trivial issue. That is like saying we can't change the bill 'cause Medicare is broken and we need to fix it first'. If Medicare is so broken then why did 8 years of GWB not get it fixed? It is just a fucking stall tactic that carries ABSOLUTELY no weight. GWB used two wars to hand out money like a drunken sailor to whomever he liked. Bottom line, I would rather spend money on AMERICA, than Iraq. I would rather spend money on HEALTH CARE than a war. I would rather spend money on JOBS, and rebuilding industries than on 100+ foreign military bases. He might be spending money, but he mostly has the priorities right. I could give a shit about CHicago and trips to Denmark. Given what daily Presidential security probably costs this country, a trip to Denmark costs fuck all, and if we win the Olympics, then it will create thousands of jobs for YEARS in Chicago. I think a fairly worthy investment. Name a bill that has been voted on before it went on line? I found them all......did you even look? There are DOZENS of examples of better health care around the world as I have already said. Your definition of 'better' happens to vary from what the majority of people think. I am looking around 'fer chists sake' I see sick people, bankruptcies, greedy American capitalism that FUCKED this country out of a future. 8 years of nothing by destruction and fuck all to show for it. But we will survive by taking care of AMERICANS. Not by taking care of other countries. We can always rebuild. And we have started.
-
Now THAT is bs I fail to see why it is so hard to believe that someone in government actually gives a shit about bringing better things to the Americann people. Even GWB thought that invading other countries and running amouck was going to be the 'right thing' for the USA. He was dead wrong, but i have no trouble believing that he thinks that he was doing the right thing. And I believe that the current government in power is actually trying to do good by providing better health care. They are compromising rather than doing it, but it is what it is. Even you, in previous posts have accused Obama of being an 'idealist'. He can't be some 'idelaist' if it is all about power/money/control. The power/money/control issue is there at some level, yes, but it is more on the side of the corporations the lobbyists and the greedy money mongers. There are A LOT OF PEOPLE in this country and in the government that actually care about delivering good health care to all Americans.
-
Actually it is NOT 'bs'. (almost) all the single payer health care systems in the world, certainly the majority of them, provide better health care at lower costs that the USA. It is has been stated before, and it continues to be stated as fact, by organizations outside your apparent ability to read and understand those stats. Just as good, or better, lower costs, health care for all. Disagree you may, but to deny those facts is plain silly. And just like you and I disagreed over Obama for President - there ain't nothing you can do about it. It will happen, and probably now sooner than later. Sadly we will waste years, lives, money and time trying to put some half-assed system into place before the most obvious solution slaps American right up the side of the head.....

it will probably fail because all they are talking about is INSURANCE, not health care delivery. And even if it passes, the new system will likely fail in practice - which is what the insurance industry is hoping for "See we told you it would not work..." Sadly the polls are correct about the current plan, but the polls to do not show a MAJORITY support for Single-Payer health care for all Americans. http://www.wpasinglepayer.org/PollResults.html I still cannot believe after all the debate that no one has put up a bill for single payer yet. I am still writing letters every day - and still getting rhetorical responses from my representatives.......
