  1. silence in the face of evil is often fear. (N Korea, Iran, Syria, and the USA in the 1600's for example) God will not hold me 'anything' Not to speak is a right guaranteed under the Constitution and can mean many things. Unless of course, you do not believe in the Constitution. Not to Act? well in what context?
  2. The declaration of independence was a political, not a religious document. A lot of the issues were over taxes and oppression, not the stifling of any religious beliefs. wow, do you ever fact check? but of course the statement about founding fathers dying off and everything going to shit is not a fact - it is an opinion. And you are welcome to that as well. Show me where religious zealots wrote the Declaration on account of religion, and you might have something. And 'America' is not a religion, again, your opinion, but so far from fact, that it cannot be recognized by anyone but you.
  3. Every time I go to a City Council meeting, they call the meeting to order, and then they stand for a Christian prayer. If I want to participate in that meeting - I have to 'go to church' as you say, to attend that meeting. Point- set-match I just did.
  4. absolutely. The Crusades (Christian) - Bad The Dark Ages - (also mostly Christian) - Bad The Spanish Inquisition (Catholic/Christian) - Bad The Puritans burning witches (Christian) - Bad The Puritans slaughtering natives (Christian) - Bad Women's rights oppressed for centuries (Lots of religions) - Bad The Holocaust (Anti-Semetic) - Bad The Taliban (Islamic) - Bad 9/11 - (Islam vs Christianity vs Islam) - Bad There are plenty of others, I have just listed a few. Perhaps you could enlighten us on some of the fantastic BENEFITS of religion in government over the past few centuries......something other than your own personal experience with 'God' fantastically concise argument - wow......way to make your point so valid! congrats!
  5. *** Yes there is, Chapter Two, Tantum religio potuit suadere malorum. (To such heights of evil are men driven by religion.) - Lucretius, De Rerum Naturas But of course, the book is filled with reasons why religion is bunk. You might try reading it and then making some objective decisions on your own. I, afterall, read the Bible too, attended Bible studies, went to church, and participated actively in Christianity until i realized is was all crap. Then I read some other works like this and found even better reasons to be an atheist than even just the ones that I had originally came up with on my own. But if you only want to read the Bible and keep your scope of the world to JUST the Bible, well then i guess you are welcome to your narrow-minded view of things,- it is your right.
  6. you're absolutely right 2+2=4 is a total figment of my imagination and has no basis whatsoever unless JESUS says it does.....
  7. blah blah blah.... Here's some 'scripture' that i try to understand and appreciate. http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/80beats/2011/05/16/oases-of-bacteria-provided-oxygen-to-spark-evolution-of-first-multicellular-animals/ It makes more sense and it actually have factual basis.....OMG, it even has scientific references at the bottom of the article.....it could even be called.......SCIENCE!
  8. I'm not moving - it's illegal and unconstitutional. I will stay, and use the powers of the Constitutional document applied in today's context and law to fight the use of religion in politics... In case you did not know, I actually know how to write a letter and have a coherent argument to make my point. I love to call my Congressmen and Senators and let them know when they are screwing up. I like to show up and 'town-hall' meetings and let them know what is wrong. What are YOU doing? what are YOU going to do?
  9. no they will never be prosecuted. Bill Maher summed it up best. If you put just 6 of them in a federal prison and let them get a good ass-fucking, we would never have this problem again.
  10. not relevant to your argument (or mine for that matter) yes I am no, have you read anything by Sagan? Did you read "God is not Great"? George washington had influence in his day - I could give a shit what his beliefs were in this day and age. I am trying to survive today. Again, if you want religion in government - move to Afghanistan. If you want to live in 1776 - well good luck with that. You would have to first give up your computer, phone, car, job, grown your own cotton and slaughter some animal for dinner......have at it.....
  11. clearly showing... you know very little about the Constitution. George Washington was a President, not the father of the country, not the supreme court, not the writer of the Constitution, not the senate, nor the Congress. One man does not a country make. He might have been a great figurehead, but his religious beliefs have fuck all to do with how the country should be run today.
  12. given that the constitution dictates no promotion of a religion by government, I would hope that any government leader follows the constitution and keeps their religion in their own closet. Just like we would expect them to also stay the fuck away from their own personal business interests while in office. Religion? BAD thing (for government) You want religion? Have it. You want it in government? Move to Afghanistan.....
  13. yes the country is broke so let's waste more money drug testing welfare recipients while we pursue some idealism that dictates no one should get a free dollar from anyone. Let eliminate ALL Welfare recipients and cut out the welfare programs COMPLETELY. that will save us 1% of the budget. Then we can put that money to some REAL use, like fighting more wars and funding oil companies - or better yet, funding some NEW F-xx fighter jet that will never be used. don't you all have something better to do?
  14. you seem to forget Nation Guards shooting students in the USA not so long ago. Whites beating blacks into submission only 45 years ago. lynchings, only a few years ago. We are only 'slightly' more civilized. I should have left out the 'Christian' part, it was not meant to be a slight against that in particular....we have plenty of our own demons within our own borders, with or without the religion.
  15. I am sure there are plenty of occasions when white Christians burned something like, say a....KORAN..... burning shit means absolutely nothing more than people venting. when you see an American flag get burned, walk away and ignore it. When you see pictures being burned, walk away and ignore it. all you do is promote their cause by giving it any attention.
  16. http://www.cbc.ca/news/offbeat/story/2011/05/10/f-judgment-day-family-radio.html another story.... Is everyone ready? It's gonna be a doozie!! good thing I get paid on the 16th..... I got 5 days to blow it all on coke, whores and gambling.....
  17. we doa CPR refresher for staff every year, not mandatory, but quite a few take it, and everyone has taken it at some point in the past.
  18. from the local news and articles, it sounds like the plane came apart in flight. That's probably all you are going to find out until NTSB finished the investigation, probably a year or more. He was apparently ferrying the plane from FL to IL
  19. http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=old+and+new+testament+contradictions&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 I don't need to regurgitate them here, you can look them up yourself. Try not to quote some biblical reference when you deny it, try to find another independent version if you can. Most Christian sites are pretty blind to the actual contradictions of course, because it would contradict their faith....they would rather falsify the belief structure to keep themselves in that blind faith - its the only way it makes sense to them. It's the Christian way - deny anything or anyone that impedes the belief structure- OBVIOUSLY they are wrong. Independent thought is not encouraged.
  20. ??.... well since then, I have held the same beliefs, with the same critical views. so YES, some 14 year olds are pretty analytical and fucking smart. I am one of them. I was one of them. If you want to debate the Bible and Koran, then I am game, I stated my post already. If you want to go to personal attacks, i can play that as well. I thought the thread was about bible and koran, not the OT and NT. NT - kind and gentle, OT? murdering fuck and devastation.... that's a contradiction.

    BBQ what the F**K

BBQ's like everything elsae, probably come with instructions - read them. Also like all other cookihn requires practice, timing, thermometers etc. You need to gauge the heat it produces, try various temperatures and cooking times, and writ ethem down. When you hit a winner, i.e. "rib-eye, 6 minutes per side at this heat setting produces perfect Med-Rare", then you write that down and stick with it every time.
  22. my IRAs are doing well yes. Mostly invested in US and global blue-chip companies. that is only one of many economic indicators and as I stated earlier, I do not believe correlates in ANY way to jobs or a better country. Huge profits are made by a few in Nigeria and Malawi too, but they are some of the poorest countries in the world.
  23. news alert, Conservatives in Canada would be considered radical lefters here in the USA. They might be more 'right' than the NDPs, but they are far from conservative Which policies is it that the 'right-wing' in Canada are implementing from which the US could learn from? Since you did not deny the success of said Canadian economic system??
