My Infinity is 7 months old and it, like yours, has squeaked since day one. Well, more like the crunching snow sound, actually. No big, although you know I'm strapped up, ready to go! (See p. 46 of this month's parachutist. I'm on the raft jump in the blue & gold at 6 o'clock.)

Michele, I just got my issue. Great article!!! And great pics! Shark

Instructors: Do you feel like you're paid enough?
Shark replied to AggieDave's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but some of us work at pretty big DZs, which have higher standards. So some of your assumptions are off. Again, another assumption. May be our DZ is old school. This is how we operate. Is this done at the safety of the students and instructors? I doubt if my DZ owner's pressured anyone to lower the standards. I see your point, but regarding the pay, we're probably above average. And as mentioned by rjf98, there are several AFFCDs who would disagree with you. Unfortunately, none will debate on-line. I passed the AFFIRC (AFF Instructional Rating Course). Should they note in our logbooks that it was under a "watered down" system? -
Happy B-Day Kolla! Get yer booty back to SoCal!

If the raft dive made it, that is indeed my ass in the blue & gold. AmyRecca and wmw999 were inside. They did a wonderful job as passengers.

Happy B-day, congrats, and welcome to El Snore.

Javier, We'll go over the stuff Robert mentioned to me on your debrief, especially your final approach to landing. Mark

Happy 25th Birthday, Nightingale, and I finally went to the DZ...
Shark replied to VanillaSkyGirl's topic in The Bonfire
Rosa, Glad you found your way back to the DZ. Happy Birthday, Kris! -
Then he is making that six figure Instructor income! Okay, news flash to some... I cutaway, to become a professional skydiver, remember? Try a 3 figure income, twice monthly. I do, however, need to find a daytime job again as I am having trouble overcoming greed and material needs. Otherwise I may have to give the Sharkmobile back to the bank. (Said sharkmobile purchased well before first skydive, and subsequent move into the crackhouse.)

You sound like my student on Sunday. Did you jump with me and Robert at Elsinore?
-
The pond? Did he buy 2 cases of beer for the SCR ceremony and 1 more for his 100th? Did he see pies? SHE, will I presume. It's just that most of the participants had to bail, including the master of ceremony. You see, the MC is an Aggie and still recovering from the beating my UT. As for Ruby, she can run, but she can't hide.

Benefit for Christian Dec 6th in San Diego
Shark replied to billvon's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Bill, I'll be working at Elsinore this weekend. Can I send a donation? Mark -
Hey Robby, That was a cool skydive. I hope you bring additional clothing to the DZ. The pond awaits...

Gee, I can't wait to get my Parachutist! But then again, it may be Christmas by the time they arrive in SoCal.

Dude, Great story and nice detail! It was like I was there! I was hypoxic. Anyway, we had a great skydive! You need to post some pics, now. Keep up the good work!

It was a very nice gesture. I'm also surprised that they maintained OPSEC. I bet Billary increased morale in Afghanistan, too.

I've already located a weight belt.

African American SkyDiver! What?
Shark replied to TXBLKBEAR's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
"The best basketball player is Chinese, the best rapper is white, and the best golfer is black." I believe this quote if from the comedian Chris Rock. It's incomplete, but perhaps someone can post the original?! -
African American SkyDiver! What?

Who's Laurie???? -
Negative! Talk is cheap. Rather than resort to name calling, and short of having my dad beat up his dad I sent him a PM. It's better that way than hiding behind a keyboard 10,000 miles away. He's entitled to his opinion, right?

Hey Jerry, Congratulations! I think the last time I jumped with you was in May... Sounds like you are doing well. In all fairness, she should buy you a new rig, since you got her a ring. Yeah, you are not doing too bad, for an Army guy and Raider fanatic. (That's a compliment coming from a Navy guy and Charger freak.) Congrats and happy turkey day! Mr. Shark

You could always buy your own Shiner, log on and go to the pub.... We'll make a toast to you this weekend. Rich's wife owe's beer for her "A" license and Jenny is in town with Mikey I. who will be leaving next month to join Airspeed. So, lotsa Aggies to drink Shiner with.

Well, I put up the poll and it is not mandatory to vote. If you do not like the choices, then do not vote! Choose the one that more closely describes you and your views. It's obvious that there are people that are anti-American, but they love our country. Then why vote at all or vote anti-American? Your so-called freedom fighters live pretty well here in the good 'ol US of A. But that doesn't stop them from killing people. It also doesn't stop people from their "flag burning" protests. Say what you want, but if you want to demonstrate your dislike around our DZ, me and my colleagues would like to debate with you in our own special way. Please notify us so that we can make accommodations. Here in America we have the freedom to criticize our government. Does anyone listen in a public forum for skydiving? If anything it has become a forum for commiseration and argument. They say it's your right to do so. No, it's not; it's a privilege. I did not vote for Bush since I worked for the McCain campaign. He wasn't my choice, so I chose not to vote. Do I support the president? Hell, yeah! The world has changed since 11 Sept 2001. Being in the financial services I lost some friends there. Imagine if 3,000 people lost their lives in one day; in your country. So, when it comes to major states that sponsor terrorism, there will always be too much debate followed by too little resolve. We'll always be kissing ass at the UN. Our nation has the resources, but we do not have the killer instinct. We took the gloves off and now we are criticized. Sometimes the foolishness of our countries affairs gets too me. For too many years we did nothing, dating back to the Clinton era and even Bush41. After the Soviet Union died, we just stood around gloating over the corpse and watching our stock portfolios. We've had poor leadership that made bad decisions. Now the terrorist have brought their war to our doorstep, and we seem incapable of stopping them. In the past we tried to put on a good show in response, but we had no plan to preempt it. That wasn't enough. So, based on those clever explanations by some of our friends, those are all good reasons to be pro-American. Freedom isn't free.
