I have a long history of "high-speed soil sampling", my experience with injuries is extensive. Shoulder injuries, especially a dislocation, are slow to heal. After multiple previous injuries, my last shoulder dislocation took almost 3 years to regain strength and range of motion...but it did return to almost 100%. I used only herbal teas, a "cabbage wrap" and exercise for treatment, though surgery was recommended. Glad I passed on the surgery! "T'was ever thus."

A smaller pilot should smooth out the initial "snatch" portion of the opening. Man, with all that rolling and tucking, it oughta' be snivellin' like a big dog! How old is the lineset on that canopy and what type? Almost sounds like you're takin' a "spectra spanking" on opening, could be line shrink. "T'was ever thus."

Music - what reminds you of jumping?

Pat Travers' "Just Enough Money (to buy me a case of the blues)"....dunno' why. "T'was ever thus." -
Maybe, like me....you're uncomfortable with the dz aircraft and/or being a passenger. A former structural mech, I've seen from the inside, what repeated cycling and g-force stress can do to an airframe. Granted, my experience was the result of more extreme conditions but it's all relative. Not all dzs are the same and yada yada but believe me, few if any really take the time to make minimal visual inspections...even a "walk-around". I'll never be comfortable with that, even though we have a fairly good record. I have the exact feelings you described, when I jump at dzs but from private aircraft, where I have witnessed their highly attentive inspection and maintenance practices....I lose all apprehensions and am totally at ease in the aircraft. As a student, you're under instruction and maybe more willing to accept a secondary position. Now, being pretty much "in control" of your skydive....it's uncomfortable, not being in control of the aircraft too. I'm not a good passenger in anything, I prefer to do the driving....not that I don't trust anybody.

Right on both counts, actually. I saw it at a drive-in, when it first came out. Well, I saw parts of it....

Ummm....that's when ya' put two normals, side by side.

You might be right but maybe you should be here long enough to know who is who before you have an opinion. Uh-oh...safety's off, I heard the clique!

That must be the guy I'd seen a segment on some news show about. It was several years ago but as I recall, the "animal people" observed the dog on the ground and while jumping. They determined that it was "cruelty", to leave the dog on the ground when his master went jumping. They concluded that the dog thoroughly enjoyed skydiving, it was being done safely and when the dog was left on the ground, he experienced health-threatening emotional stress. A representative from one of the animal organizations (I believe she was from the Humane Society or SPCA) appeared with him and testified to their findings, showed video clips of the investigation process and gave him their blessings.

OBL: Found in Tora Bora again....and lost again
kschilk replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
Look...haven't you figured it out yet?! Bush and Bin are the same guy!!! Think about it.... 1. You never see both of them in the same place, at the same time. Well, do ya'?! 2. Every time Bush goes on a vacation or for whatever reason, is out of the media's eye....ol' Bin puts out another video. Background usually looks like Texas, too. 3. If you gave Bush a tan, a robe, a fake beard, some platform sandals and wrapped a towel around his head...Laura couldn't tell 'em apart. 4. If you listen closely, you can hear a definite Texas drawl, in Bin's voice and intelligence reports indicate his second in command, is called "Bubba". 5. Ever elusive, Bin seems to know everything we do...before we do it. It's almost as if , well....as if they were ........ -

The one I'm gonna' write...called "Something In The Water?!" Watch for it, at a theater near you! 'Til then...I'd say "Reefer Madness" is the all time king. Gets funnier, every time I see it! -
How difficult was your first Solo jump??
kschilk replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You won't really be solo, the instructors will be hanging onto you. You've already done 2 tandems, should be a cakewalk for ya'. -
I'm no authority on the subject but I'd assume it can't be "fired" and if it simply air dries, it'll get brittle. I doubt that using a polyurethane or laquer would work, without firing first. Either way, without a framework of some sort inside, I doubt he'd survive the exit. If you had access to vacuum molding equipment (someone into making models, maybe)...might be possible to encase him in a hard, clear shell. Not sure about some of the "epoxy" coatings.

The Otter's cool....um, I can do snakes.

You wrote "Get Over It" for the Eagles, didn't ya'!?!

I thought Rigger was in Latvier...capital or some s**t? Never was good at geometry.

none of the above has anything to do with reality... I'm afraid history begs to differ. Israel IS the reality and it could be a harsh one, for some.

Probably not all that well. Everybody gets hardons about the high-tech nature of the german WWII tech but the truth was that the vast majority of it was experimental stuff that was rushed into production without sufficient testing resulting in mechanical casualties being more common than casualties from enemy fire. -Blind It was almost always a case of "over-engineering", with Germany....still is. They like their bells & whistles.

All Gil's work is nice but a little known fact....the lead on Comfortably Numb (cd version/Delicate Sound Of Thunder) was pieced together from several different concerts on the tour. Dave chose the best parts and they were inserted through editing....compare it with the DVD. I heard him say it in an interview, shortly after it was released. The DST version (DVD) is better than the Pulse tour version. Wut....nobody ever hear of Wishbone Ash?!

Then....just how big does your canopy have to be, to be considered "big one".....like a 220?

I took up knife throwing. You can practice it at work and it keeps the boss & co-workers from messin' with ya'.

Hmmm....I was wonderin' what happened to Mr. Bill, after leaving SNL. Needs a Play-Dough Porter, though!

Syria, like Egypt and Jordan....exists only by the grace of Israel. Had Israel wanted to play hardball, thoses countries would be nothing more than a faint memory. With the way it went down, four against one...Israel had every right to wipe them off the map. The way I see it, it's just unfinished business...like a do-over or Mulligan. Syria can't seem to understand that if ya' keep yankin' on a mean dog's chain, you're gonna' get your a*s bit! Something like 90% of Israleis are Russian or of Russian descent so anybody thinkin' Syria will find help from Moscow, might just be surprised.

Right about 2300 ft. Main didn't open and can't get the reserve out either....he'll probably be stuck up there all freakin' night.
