Tits-up but still conscious! "T'was ever thus."

Can't recall what was so funny....I probably just took a dump in the target circle or somethin'. "T'was ever thus."

Fascinating reference! You must be old. Ya' know.....that might explain all the dust I'm givin' off in freefall! "T'was ever thus."

Awww sweet, sounds like a remake of "Reefer Madness"! Mostly...the quality evolution had nothing to do with prohibition, it was a natural progression. Prohibition only raised the price. The fact that the "Marijuana Laws" were only enacted as an excuse to deport non-whites from the U.S., should have no bearing. "T'was ever thus."

Ok...just one more reason to stay tight on emergency clear and pull procedures. Wow, what's next.....square windows on passenger jets?! "T'was ever thus."

Once upon a time, unions had their place. They were needed, they were effective and a lot of good worker protection legislation came primarily as a result of their influence. It seems, however, that they have run their course and have lataly become more of a liability, than an asset. "T'was ever thus."

Never been to PA, eh? "T'was ever thus."

In 1989, I was stationed in Norfolk, VA. Carjackings were just becoming "popular" with the local criminals but there were enough incidents (several per day), that an ordinance was passed which allowed drivers to keep a LOADED handgun in the vehicle....so long as it was placed on the front seat and in plain view. The next morning, some clown in Oceanview decided to try carjacking a man who had stopped for a stop sign. As the would-be carjacker ran to the car and opened the passenger side door, he was shot by the driver...who had a loaded revolver sitting out on the passenger seat. Within hours, the shooting was ruled a "justifiable homicide" and the story made the front page of the evening newspapers. There were no more carjackings in that area, for the rest of my tour (4 years). Funny how that works. "T'was ever thus."

Why do smoke jumpers still use rounds ?

You might find this interesting... http://www.fire.blm.gov/Intntl/trip_reports/Russiansmkj.pdf "T'was ever thus." -
Mine's of Mr. Natural, from the '70s ZAP Comix. He's a symbol of better times...when thrills were as cheap as gas and gas, as cheap as thrills. "T'was ever thus."

What's your opinion, just for fun....since music seems popular in here. Did Joe Walsh join The Eagles or did The Eagles, join Joe Walsh? Why? Honestly, I think The Eagles joined Joe Walsh. The Eagles were good but had pretty much run their "California Country" musical course, really had nowhere to go. When they teamed with JW and Don Felder (Barnstorm), the style became more progressive, the music in general was more intricate and their popularity soared. I think JW was the force behind their "five-part harmony" vocal arrangements too. You can hear the same vocals on previous JW albums. "T'was ever thus."

Too bad ya' missed the crash in turn three.....woulda' been a money shot! "T'was ever thus."

Airplanes don't generally collapse or slip out from under you. "T'was ever thus."

You're gettin' warmer! A fifth in one hand an' a funnel in the other....drink like ya' mean it!

Don't know if this will do ya' much good. I bought a complete used rig (with Cypres) for $3,000, in 2000. The main was an Aerodyne Triathlon 160, circa 1995. The Dolphin 2 container and Cypres were new with the main. I was told it had 50 jumps on it but let's say 100 or so, just to be realistic. There was initially no reserve but since I bought it through my dz, they put in a used one. I'd guesstimate something like this... Cypres - $900.00 Container system - $1100.00 Reserve - $200.00 Main - $800.00 Replace the Tri with a Safire 2, bought new for $1422.00. *Forgot to add....Triathlon had the original lineset and was in primo condition, same with the container. No Bill, system one failed, the back up, system did not. That is what I refer to No, actually....the media failed. There's no such thing as a "live" nuke. They can be "armed" but anymore, that happens after deployment. Even in a crash, they won't go off but unfortunately, truth doesn't sell newspapers or ad time. "T'was ever thus."

You might be right. After all, this was a top pilot talking to an enlisted mech....he mighta' felt the need to just "dumb it down" for me. "T'was ever thus."

I was Navy for 5 years, the Blues did an airshow at my base every year (that's 15 shows, also about 20 rehearsals). I was fortunate to have worked rather closely with them...if they were in the air, I was there! The vapor cloud in question is common and a result of the g-forces, not speed. It's most often seen during during their rehearsals, since the restrictions are a bit lighter than during the shows. These guys routinely swooped between the hangars, to within a few feet of the runway and then pulled a hard vertical. The vapor cloud appeared at the instant of transition and dissipated, when they let-off the stick. If the sun's out, there's usually a rainbow around the plane. As for the water disturbance....depending on the speed, there's a burble behind the plane and the "blast" may not have gotten to the water, before the pic was taken. The Blues do a "tailwalk" with the 18. In rehearsals, I've seen them as low as 50 ft. from the deck and there was really no visible "blast" behind the plane. With the twins, the 18 disperses the thrust over a fairly wide area. Also...I can't swear to it being fact but I recall talk about "vectored exhaust nozzles", being retrofitted to the newer 18s. If that's been done, it would make a difference here too. BTW...the vapor cloud explanation came from Cdr. Moneymaker, the then outgoing C.O. and flight leader. I'd seen it during a rehearsal and asked him about it. "T'was ever thus."

9's and .32/.380s are fun for target, 'coz you can pull the trigger....then run down to the target and watch the bullet hit. Nothing signals serious intent better, than the glint from the long barrel of a .454. "T'was ever thus."

I don't think he has enough money to buy the appointment to President. Back in the day (when they actually used to count votes) he'd have had a good chance. I like Colbert but like last time, I gotta' back the Afflack duck. He's the only one I'd trust, to have a wing on the big boom button. "T'was ever thus."

I haven't dealt with Mel for a couple years but he was difficult to get ahold of, on occasion. His day job sometimes required a trip overseas and to remote areas. I'd guess he's temporarily unable to contact you...probably hasn't gotten any of the messages. "T'was ever thus."

Looks like a regular "wood spider"...common to the area and heading indoors, for the winter. They kinda' look nasty but they're basically harmless. I repeat....it LOOKS like one, I'm not guaranteein' s**t. Sounds like some relatively harmless laundry voyeurism going on here...let 'im watch. He's pretty big, which I'm guessing means he's probably kinda' old....which means he's managed to keep from gettin' swatted or stepped-on for a while...which I havta' take as meanin' he's probably pretty smart....so I don't think I'd really want to p**s him off too much! "T'was ever thus."

Which America does he hate,,,,North or South?! "T'was ever thus."

Ever wonder why they only sell prop wash by the gallon?! ....and flight line, by the foot? Lotsa' stuff I've wondered about...Can you buy skydiving stuff with a gear-check? Why don't they start the meter, when they taxi the plane? Do they call it being "on final"...'coz they don't expect you to survive the landing?! If I make a jump and my main fails...then my reserve fails...how the heck do I get down?! How often am I supposed to wind this altithermometer thing...and howsa' come it ain't tickin'!? Cypres batteries....no sweat, you can turn 'em out on a small lathe. "T'was ever thus."
