  1. Whch is exactly what the terrorists want. - Dan G
  2. So they initially reported it, were wrong, and dropped it. Very convincing. - Dan G
  3. I'm sure some people mischaracterize them unfairly, and others don't. Being anti-science isn't disagreeing with, or disliking, a particulat scientist. It is presuming ALL scientists are lying for personal gain. We see that all the time here. Whenever there is a report cited that supports AGW (which we all know is what this thread is really about) certain posters go out of their way to explain how Big Science is corrupt and only reports pro-AGW results. That is anti-science. Picking apart the science on its merits is not anti-science. Dismissing the science without cause simply because it is against your worldview is anti-science. - Dan G
  4. The police initially were involved in the eye socket fracture lie. I don't know if Wilson himself was involved, but the police department was. There was also a lot of back and forth about whether Wilson knew about the strong arm robbery or not. But the most damning thing was the huge delay before the department said anything at all. When you wait three or four days to release your story, it looks like you're covering something up, even if you aren't. - Dan G
  5. You wanted to know what anti-science was? Turtle pretty much nails it: the presumption that all scientists are greedy frauds, and science is nothing more that a money grab. - Dan G
  6. The official story, you know, the one from the officer's point of view, should have stayed the same. What random "witnesses" were saying didn't have any bearing on the officer's story. - Dan G
  7. Don't forget: 7. The authorities did a terrible job responding to the initial protests. A little honesty and cooperation go a long way. - Dan G
  8. Absolutely true for the air crew. Not so much for the passengers, especially the civilians. Hell, I was on a Blackhawk in Afghanistan when the crew decided to do a test fire of the door guns. They didn't bother mentioning this to any of us, they just started shooting. When everyone started getting ready to throw down, they let us know we weren't under fire. - Dan G
  9. Not commenting specifically on Williams' story, but if you've every been in the back of a cargo aircraft (helicopter or fixed wing) you'l know this is not true. It's loud, shaky, and dark. Unless they were actually hit, the cargo (breathing or not) would likely never have any idea of what was going on outside. - Dan G
  10. Yes. People have accused you of hating Obama. So what? Where are the posts saying you are a racist becuae you disagree with Obama? That's what we were talking about when you discovered the search button. - Dan G
  11. You're thinking, "I'm so darn clever, I really got that DanG on the ropes now. I can keep this up all day, and once he gives up, I'll go back to playing the poor persecuted conservative." - Dan G
  12. You're seriously expecting us to believe you don't think about Obama even though you make numerous posts about him every single day? Okay, I guess you're story makes sense: everyone calls you a racist when you post every single day about the President, about whom you have no thoughts or feelings.Of course, the fact that no one has ever called you a racist, as far as I can tell, because you disagree with the President (about whom you never think) doesn't really matter. Just drop the whole "they call me a racist when I disagree with Obama" strawman, please. - Dan G
  13. Sorry, but that doesn't ring true. You can't possibly think as much as you do about the man, and not have any feelings about him. Really, what exactly did I say that implied why you have been called a racist? If that were the reason you disliked Obama, then it would be racist. Who has said that to you? I'm guessing it was a troll, like funjumper, that no one takes seriously anyway. - Dan G
  14. So if hatred isn't right, how do you describe your feelings about Obama? And I noticed you chose not to comment on the main point, namely that you are never called a racist because of your of Obama. - Dan G
  15. Not the same. You are never called racist because you hate Obama. That's what you always claim, and it just isn't true. And please don't try to say you're neutral on Obama. You may not hate him, in the Biblical sense, but you're pretty darn close to hate. - Dan G
  16. Are you trying to represent that you wrote that? - Dan G
  17. People here always seem to "miss that one" Maybe its because "that one" is a figment of your imagination, and no one has every accused you of that in the first place. - Dan G
  18. Well, nearly all scientists are saying that man is contributing to global warming, so I guess this means you're ready to accept AGW as the truth. - Dan G
  19. One half of one percent of 1,570,000,000 is 7,850,000. I'm not sure what this number has to do with anything, but there it is. (edited cause I was answering the previous question, which was I thought was 0.005%, not 0.5%. Damn decimal places.) - Dan G
  20. I disagree. Dissertion in the face of the enemy is one thing. Dessertion when there aren't any bullets flying is another. I think he needs a lengthy jail sentence. Time should not be taken off for his time as a POW. - Dan G
  21. Saw the movie over the weekend. Bradley Cooper should get all the credit for the movie being any good at all. The directing and writing was pretty standard. I agree with the New Yorker review (those liberal bastards praised the movie quite highly!) that it was both a devastating pro-war movie, and a devastating anti-war movie. It's worth a watch, but it ain't the greatest thing since sliced bread. For the knee jerkers, please note I'm talking only about the movie, not Chris Kyle the human being. - Dan G
  22. While technically true, unless the winds are really weird, the groundspeed chart is a pretty good approximation. Do you have a better method that skydivers might actually use? - Dan G
  23. Seems fair to me. If it's a misdemeanor for a cop to punch me, it should be a misdemeanor for me to punch a cop. Not that I've ever punched a cop... But I have been punched by one. I was not injured, and he did not arrest me. This was for having an open container in Times Square on New Years Eve. A plainclothes cop was walking through the crowd, grabbing people's le's beers and throwing them on the ground. He did not identify himself, and when some guy grabbed my beer from behind, I had the audacity to try to hold onto it. He punched me in the arm, and then silently pulled his coat open to reveal his badge. The lunch was totally unnecessary, but whatever, I didn't make a stink, and neither did he. - Dan G
