Atheists, agnostics most knowledgeable about religion
DanG replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
Now that's just funny. - Dan G -
I'm happy to see that your delightful post gently prodding people to be decent has quickly turning into the overblown cock fighting we all love so much. Nice try anyway. - Dan G

A disturbing PM I recieved...bad advice???
DanG replied to discovery4's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The 500 jump number is only if decide to figure it out yourself. You only need 200 if you receive instruction. I'm sure someone will quickly correct me if I'm wrong. - Dan G -
That's really silly advice. The concern with camera jumping is the distraction it causes, not the camera itself. Adding a ringsite adds the same distraction. How about this for advice on starting camera: go make a bunch of skydives. Get comfortable in the air. Get competent flying your body. Get competent landing your canopy. Get practice with EPs. That's it. - Dan G

Nope. There is no right to be comfortable about your coworker's private lives. There is, however, a right to equal protection under the law. If you're going to argue this from a rights standpoint, you really have no leg to stand on. - Dan G

I'll take, "The Constitution," for $1000, Alex. - Dan G

Murder sucks, I hope he gets caught, I hope the kid's okay. Why did you post this? - Dan G

Happy Constitution Day! A quote from a founding father.
DanG replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
Really? I'd venture to say that you don't know exactly what the Constitution says, considering you just quoted a passage from the Declaration of Independence. - Dan G -
I'm surprised you don't support Obama becoming more familiar and comfortable with firearms. I'd think this would be a celebratory post on your part. - Dan G

It's certainly a problem, but don't forget that illegals do pay taxes. If they work under the table, they may not pay income taxes (just like citizens who work under the table), but they still pay sales tax, property tax, and all the same fees (use taxes really) that citizens pay. Additionally, the idea that they use government services more than other people do is unsupported. Agree. - Dan G

Yes, he is. And he's right. - Dan G

You don't make arguments. You post long and ignorant articles from Strategy Page. - Dan G

I've seen multiple students in the tunnel moving their legs at the same time as their arms without even realizing it. Even when I point it out, people don't believe they are doing it until you show it to them on video. I've not sure what exactly the OP is doing, but I agree it is either legs or spine. I think it is more likely to be legs, but who knows? If I were coaching the OP, I'd encourage a 1-on-1 jump with video, and then a video review by someone who knows what they are looking at. Skydive U coaches are great for this. - Dan G

Yeah, the Car Talk guys are political commentators. - Dan G

I'll wager I know considerably more about statistics than you do. In fact, I know 74.3% more than you. And why did you feel the need to dig at me for no reason? Lighten up. - Dan G

You'll get more responses if you work a Muslim angle in somehow. - Dan G

Court/Obama Agree: Warrantless Cell Phone Tracking is OK
DanG replied to Kennedy's topic in Speakers Corner
The 2nd is a last ditch effort if all else fails. There are a lot more protections built into the system before you get to armed insurrection. I completely agree with Bigun. You can't eat just one peanut. I totally dissagree with this ruling, and hope large portions of the Patriot Act eventually get overturned. - Dan G -
I guess I shouoldn't be surprised at how dense people are about this, but I'm still disappointed. We are at war with the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Their argument is that the US hates Muslims and wants to kill or convert them all the Christianity. Having public Koran burnings supports that message. Let's not wage their PR campaign for them. If you really want to hurt our enemies, we shouldn't make September 11th "Burn the Koran Day". We should make it "Hug a Muslim Day". It's only making a bunch of exceptions and excuses if you think we actually do want to kill or convert all Muslims. This is really simple until people try to make it a partisan issue. - Dan G
