I love the mental gymastics the extreme right has to go through to convince themselves that their losses are someone else's fault. This bundler you refer to happened to be the largest doner to a PAC, and that PAC was the largest single donor to Sarvis's campaign. Sounds fishy, right? Sure, until you realize that the PAC was a libertarian PAC, the bundler regularly gives to both libertarian and Democratic campaigns, and the grand total this fishy PAC donated to Sarvis was $10,000. Yeah, it makes perfect sense that it was that single $10,000 donation that defeated Cuccinelli. By the way, Cuccinelli raised $18 million. - Dan G

If you're in favor of an up or down vote, how can you be against a measure that guarantees an up or down vote? Well, yes he is. A historic number of nominees have been denied the up or down vote you say you want. - Dan G
-
Obviously not. So what? Cucinnelli failed to appeal to the plurality of voters. That's nobody's fault but his own. - Dan G
-
Okay, I'll answer your question if you'll answer mine. Two examples that made me vote as I did: a non-extremist would not be in favor of making all abortions illegal, a non-extremist wouldn't be in favor of discrimination against gays in state employment. Your turn. Was Cuccinelli a moderate? - Dan G
-
Well, as an example, sending an unsolicited letter to state schools saying that they can discriminate against gays if they want is pretty extreme to me. Sure, but that's assuming that all Sarvis voters would have voted for Cuccinelli. That's simply not true. - Dan G
-
Well, I disagree, but that's okay. We can disagree about that. Truth is, next time a Republican gets the White House I doubt you are going to complain about him packing the courts to get his way. - Dan G
-
I think Sarvis pulled as many votes off the D as he did the R. I voted for him, and there's no way I was going to vote for Cuccinelli. Dude, I've lived in Virginia my whole life. I don't need to watch the national news to know all about Cuccinelli. Maybe you should study up. - Dan G

If you isolate your numbers to jusicial nominees, then you're right. If you look at all nominees, your position doesn't stand up. Why limit it to judicial nominees? That's cherry picking and you know it. That's how the Constitution is set up. President get to appoint federal judges. It'll work the same way when your guy's in office. Again, I'm surprised you have such disdain for Constitutional checks and balances. - Dan G

Do you really think Cuccinelli was a moderate? - Dan G

Family Says They Did Tip Gay Server, Didn't Leave Note
DanG replied to JohnnyMarko's topic in Speakers Corner
I think the gay server was a chick, so perhaps the better horrible pun might be that something smells fishy. - Dan G -
McAuliff is a dirtbag, but he got elected with the help of Ken Cuccinelli. If the Republicans would have nominated a non-extremist, and a sane Lt. Governor candidate, they probably would have won. - Dan G

President Obama says he’s sorry for Americans losing insurance plans
DanG replied to rickjump1's topic in Speakers Corner
Okay, that was funny. - Dan G -
He was not convicted. That doesn'tr mean he didn't do it. Yeah, that's the thing. There are numerous reports out there saying that there is no upward trend. Do you have evidence (preferably not from an extreme right wing web site) that shows an actual upward trend? Alan West is going to come forward on any issue that will get him media attention. He's becoming the reverse Al Sharpton. I did know that. And I'm also pretty sure his killed his wife and her white friend. I think maybe he even started the knockout game craze. - Dan G

Similarities to what? Other black-on-white violent crime? Well, duh. You can't post a reference to a single crime, and then claim that single crime proves there is an epidemic. In the context of this thread, yes. Was OJ's murder of two white people evidence of the Knockout Game? There were similarities. - Dan G

Roseanne is showing some impressive ignorance. More than most. Do you agree with her that Obama was the person who "got rid of the filibuster"? - Dan G

It wasn't from Time, it was from a contributor to Time who was being interviewed by your pals at Newsmax. And he made this ridiculous claim without backing it up with any, you know, facts. - Dan G -

Why does it bother you so much? Someone is lying and being shitty. That's what people do. - Dan G -

May I suggest you file this in the "Who gives a shit" file? - Dan G -
Well, yeah, that's how majority rule works. Under the old system it could be 1 to 99 and the 1 (anonymous coward) would win. - Dan G

Why bother? If they're losing power, the incoming Senate can just change it back. - Dan G

Will the GOP reverse the "Nuclear Option" when it gets a majority?
DanG replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
It was even worse. Under the old rules, a Senator could write a anonymous note to a collegue saying he objected to a nominee. The nomination was then put on "secret hold". Not only did Senators not have to fillibuster, they didn't even have to say why they objected, or even who was objecting. That's not democracy, it's a Star Chamber. I think this change should have been made long ago. - Dan G
