  1. Are you also going to discount the NYT article because it doesn't fit neatly with your spoon fed worldview? - Dan G
  2. I thought you were interested in the truth about what happened over there. I guess not. - Dan G
  3. http://www.nytimes.com/projects/2013/benghazi/#/?chapt=0 NYT reports that there is no evidence Al Qaeda was involved, but there is evidence unrest due to the anti-Islamic video contributed. Comment? - Dan G
  4. Pandemic! (Watch The Wire if you don't get it) - Dan G
  5. But the Old Testament is where the condemnation of homosexuality is. If you want to say that the Old Testament is superseded by the new, then you have no Biblical basis for what Roberson said. You can't have it both ways. - Dan G
  6. Heavy sigh. So, in your mind the 1st Amendment requires the government to force a private company to hire someone they don't want working for them? How very leftist of you. - Dan G
  7. Do you know any of the lyrics besides the chorus? BTW, this discussion is the most productive thing to happen in an SC gun thread, ever. - Dan G
  8. Which is why the car analogy is limited. There is no analogous "private property" where you can operate your body without potentially damaging it, and thereby burdening society when we have to pay to fix you. Ah, so it's changed from "I didn't need medical care," to "I didn't need expensive medical care." And so what. Hindsight is 20/20. I haven't needed my car insurance for years (knock on wood), and haven't needed it for decades to pay for someone else's car. But I might need it tomorrow, that's why it's called insurance. - Dan G
  9. So, instead of cryptically saying, "A pilot for a commercial DZ doesn't need a second class medical," it would be much less misleading to say, "A pilot for a commercial DZ needs a second class medical, or above." And, for completeness, "A pilot for a commercial DZ needs a commercial certificate, or better." Of course, I expect someone to come along and claim none of that is true, so long as the commercial DZ does all it's jumping out of balloons. - Dan G
  10. We're just going to end up going around, and around, and around on this. - Dan G
  11. Can you have a 1st Class without qualifying for a 2nd Class medical? - Dan G
  12. So, you're saying a pilot doesn't need a 2nd class because he can have a first class? That's just silly semantics and you know it. Saying that a pilot doesn't need a second class implies that he can use a lower class medical, and least that's how people will read it. Will you also claim that the pilot doesn't need a commercial ticket? And then come back the next day and say that's because he can have an ATP? Of course that is technicaly true, but the first statement by itself is misleadng. - Dan G
  13. Actually, she was writring about Warren Beatty. - Dan G
  14. Yes it does. Or at least it equals the potential to need medical care. In the same way, having a car doesn't mean you'll be in accident, but it means you might be, so you need insurance. Again, the insurance protects not only you, but society at large. Sure you did, you just got it from Uncle Sam for free. - Dan G
  15. Sure. And since this basically never happens, it is a little misleading to not include all these caveats in the statement. - Dan G
  16. You're not about to make the "not a commercial operation" argument, are you? I believe that's been thoroughly debunked. - Dan G
  17. Thank you. Apology accepted. I do love my country, as you clearly do, too. - Dan G
  18. i've tried to ignore this, but it's burning my briefs. What exactly did I say that makes you think I was unfit for military service? - Dan G
  19. Luckily I don't give two shits what you think about me. - Dan G
  20. Good. In that case let me tell you that you are completely on the wrong side on this one. What Ron said was disgusting. If you take a second to go back and read it, you might agree. By supporting him just because he's on your "team", you look almost as bad as he does. - Dan G
  21. Whatever. There's no point in this discussion. Yes, Obama lied about some of his campaign promises. I'm not happy about that at all. On the other hand, he did run an honorable campaign with respect to how he treated his opponent. I'm done with this thread, have fun. - Dan G
