This is the only remedy that works for me. The downside is that you have to get up during the night to go to the toilet "Ha ! I laugh at danger and drop ice cubes down the vest of fear ..." (Blackadder)

I know it sounds cliché, but like adventurechick, I have to say: my first tandem !

What Kind of Trouble Did You Get Into in High School?
Sweetness replied to JENNR8R's topic in The Bonfire
No trouble at all ! I was such a good girl, still am actually. Although I'm working on the getting in trouble ... I'm tired of being good all the time ... that's much better since I started skydiving "Ha ! I laugh at danger and drop ice cubes down the vest of fear ..." (Blackadder) -

Sweetness replied to jumpjunkie2004's topic in The Bonfire
Good luck ! Sending vibes from the other side of the world now -
I lost 4 kgs in 2 months since I started skydiving, and I actually don't know how that happened ! I'm not jumping for a month now because of my leg I hurt, and I'm already gaining weight. I didn't realize jumping includes so much exercise that it makes one lose weight ! Anyone else expercienced this ? "Ha ! I laugh at danger and drop ice cubes down the vest of fear ..." (Blackadder)

I play flute and guitar. My cousin gave me a tin wistle he brought back from his trip to Dublin, but I don't know where / how I can learn to play it correctly. "Ha ! I laugh at danger and drop ice cubes down the vest of fear ..." (Blackadder)

I don't wear a poppy, only because it's not a tradition here in Belgium ... ironic, isn't it ? However, being a historian and just by personal interest, I've always been very moved by the human stories and shocked by the horrors of WW I. I visited Ypres twice, along with the In Flanders Fields museum, the Menen gate, grave yards, and hearing the Last Post playing. It all got and gets to me a lot. Seeing the thousands and thousands of names and ages of the young British / Commonwealth soldiers engraved in the Menen gate, it brought tears to my eyes, and I feel extremely gratefull towards them. Horrible how they suffered ... This poem by Wilfred Owen -war poet- says it all ... read it, and realize: they have all lived this ... and there are so many who still live it "Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge, Till on the haunting flares we turned out backs, And towards our distant rest began to trudge. Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots, But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame, all blind; Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots Of gas-shells dropping softly behind. Gas! GAS! Quick, boys!--An ecstasy of fumbling Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time, But someone still was yelling out and stumbling And flound'ring like a man in fire or lime.-- Dim through the misty panes and thick green light, As under a green sea, I saw him drowning. In all my dreams before my helpless sight He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning. If in some smothering dreams, you too could pace Behind the wagon that we flung him in, And watch the white eyes writhing in his face, His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin, If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs Bitter as the cud Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,-- My friend, you would not tell with such high zest To children ardent for some desperate glory, The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori." They're CUTE and cuddly and fuzzy and funny, and they make cute noises. They're not too big and not too small. They each have their own personality. Guinea pigs are the best !

I want my helmet to be delivered by next weekend instead of in 4 weeks. And I want my leg injury healed by then too. O yeah, and a car would be nice as well "Ha ! I laugh at danger and drop ice cubes down the vest of fear ..." (Blackadder)
