What are you looking forward to this jumping season?
Vallerina replied to Vallerina's topic in The Bonfire
Usually by the end of a season, I'm ready for a break in skydiving. Also, usually right before the start of the season, I start itching for a jump. I'm really looking forward to this season for many reasons, so I'm just that much more impatient! So, what are you looking forward to this season? I'm looking forward to the following: -Jump for the Cause -A new turbine in the Chicago area http://www.skydivemidwest.com/ -The next big-way camp and 100-ways in Perris -Midnight volleyball (oh, that's not really a jumping thing, huh?) -Matty doing some kick ass organizing at Hinckley this season -SDC's Otters & Spring Expo There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning -
Andy, do you still need some lovin? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

I think they're still under $20. I could be wrong, though. We didn't really go into this with a plan. We wanted 6 tickets in the bleachers for the Sox games. Now, we're aiming for bleacer seats for any night/weekend game. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Is anyone else trying to get tickets today? Wildblue FAILED at getting tickets. He failed miserably. He's too slllllooooooowwww to get tickets! I can't believe how hard it is to get these stupid tickets, though!!!! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

How do you go from that friend to someone special?

I understand completely. However, even when you do your best to avoid...when you turn and walk away....sometimes, it follows. For the most part, there hasn't been too much drama for me this past season. I got into a comfort zone that I'm scared to get out of!!! A lot of it is because the people I've met reacently don't try to one up me, aren't jealous of me, don't try to be mean to me, etc. The people I've met and hung out with have been pretty cool. Well, I've been trying to tempt the other half!!! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Ohhhh...Sunny is getting serious on me, so I will have to agree. It really isn't always about "We are all here to skydive." It hasn't even been the boogies I've been to lately. Oh...and this isn't about anyone here either. Yes, I wish I could ignore people. You just can't. You can't ignore people who are constantly trying to one up you. "Me: I just did a fun freefly jump. Them: Yeah, well, I did a freefly jump with a tube while in a hybrid, and it was the best hybrid ever because this guy that everyone should know was on it, and he told me how awesome I am." I am happy for when people accomplish something in the sport. I love it when I see my friends do something cool. I do not like it when people constantly try to one up things. I do not like it when people get critical of me for no good reason. This isn't about me doing something dangerous/wrong/etc and pointing it out. I love to hear what I can do better in the air. This is why I want to go in the tunnel, go to camps, etc. I want to learn. I do not need to hear comments about what I do on the ground if it doesn't affect you. I do not need to hear if I am a lesser skydiver than you. If you don't like me, that's fine. "Don't blow out my candle to make yours shine brighter." I've experienced this frequently in the sport. Both of those things have made certain dropzones no fun and have put a damper on my fun. Maybe I should learn to ignore people, but I can't. So, because of these things, it's because increasingly difficult for me to leave my niche where things like that just don't happen to me. It's much more comfortable and fun when it really is about the skydiving. I love sharing my passion with people. This past season has been my favorite season in skydiving because that's all I've been doing. I haven't come across many egos/etc. Long rant. Sorry!!!! -
