0:8:3 First time skydiving in East Troy with the Sky Knights First 40+ way attempt (I think 46 of us made it in out of the 48) First time turning pieces while catting someone (that was kinda weird....luckily I catted someone so I got to avoid the combat rw that took place on the redock.) I also had the honor of jumping with Dumpster...very nice guy! Overall, I had a great weekend hanging out with my grandma and uncle while making a couple of jumps. Many replies later, guess it's time for me to give my opinion (I'm sure you all feel like you're missing out.) I had bought one two years back to kinda remind me of my first "boogie." It was an important weekend for me in skydiving, and the boogie t-shirt is really ugly...so that was reason number one. My necklace was pretty ugly so I didn't wear it much, but sometimes when wearing it, I met random strangers saying "Oh! You're a skydiver!" I love talking to random strangers, so I keep wearing it. That necklace was just too ugly, so I made one of my own (still ugly, but I like it!) Think I'll make myself a new one soon with my school colors or something (but, my school colors are ugly....so I'll never have a pretty necklace.) Well, I have to miss out on Collegiates, having graduated and all. I wanted to hit the boogie there this Christmas, but I don't know how much vacation time Allstate hands out to me (though, I do get like 17 days of "study time"....) Ha ha ha! I was initiated on that first Saturday night. I didn't enjoy my initiation, but I did have a blast initiating others (and how could you forget, Blue?????) Well, this doesn't seem to fit the weekend numbers thread....so....here's some convention numbers: "what happens in rantoul, stays in rantoul":62:tons Some firsts: Doing the whole front front float thing (wasn't as bad as I expected....I thought I'd fall off trying to get there.) Did a speed star competition (got second....absolutely NO thanks to me for that!) Hit 11 jumps in a day (no I didn't pack all of em.) Other fun things: I am now PUTA RUBIA RODRIGUEZ! Zofo helped me initiate one of my friends actually....didn't know that was you sitflyr. (Although, you made me look bad! He said I have a lot to learn from you!) Sunshine and I had a blast in some grocery carts. JELLO SHOTS!!! Mmmmmm...... Raider came to wake me up for the "Dirty Bird" load...in classic convention style, I wasn't there, but some strange guy was. At least someone got use out of my tent that night. As many have said, Rhino was a pleasant surprise....I didn't expect him to be so cute! I got great video of my jump from the helicopter in my I Dream of Jeannie costume! Any other girls still thinking about that Hot Buns competition???? Overall.....a wonderful time had by all. Ran into old friends and met many new ones. Most of my jumps were made with an organizer from New England. I got some flack from some about not jumping with them, but what can you do. I came back to some upsetting news and have zero regrets about setting that week aside as "me time." I learned a bunch, partied much, and had a very memorable week. 0:0:0....oh well. Yeah...it's because I'm saving up all my energy for Rantoul! That's it. But, the actual reason for my crap numbers: school stuff, getting more of my junk moved out, not the best weather ever, and a surprise visit from a couple of my friends. But, on the plus side, only two more days of classes, and only 6 more days till graduation!!!!!!!!!! So, you fools heading to the Convention better watch out...I will do my celebration costume jumps either that first Sat or Sun (depending on when my grandma will come visit.) Hmmm....my goals.... 1) To not hurt myself or others 2) To achieve the highest level of FUN! Other things I put as possible goals (so as long as they don't interrupt the first two...) *getting in on some RW bigger ways *possibly do the head down thing on my own without having somebody hold me there *I'll probably end up doing a tunnel camp (looks like Deland Majik has an awesome one set up...great price, too!) *maybe start working towards the PRO rating (can't let the Falcon sit around for nothing! Plus, there's an awesome demo team that frequents my home that I can get advice from) *i might working towards becoming a rigger...but even if I don't go that far, I still want to learn more about my equipment/others equipment/etc *I vaguely considered trying to get a tandem rating ...but i don't think I'll be ready any time soon, if ever. Yeah, like Phree said....I got my first freefly dock in when I had like 10-15 sit flys....it doesn't hurt when awesome people like him help you out and give great advice! Since there's already a bunch of threads on it, I figured one more couldn't hurt The real reason I am writing this, however, is about the furnishings of the dropzone.com tent. I have a hide-a-bed, loveseat, and a big comfy chair that I won't need anymore (ie....can be trashed to your likings). My grandmother was going to help me move out and stuff (and help me lug the stuff over to Rantoul) but some family stuff came up and it doesn't look like she can now. Soooo....if there's anyone out there who wants to help me move this stuff to the WFFC either next Tues or Wed (Wed is the last day they'll let me live in my apartment) that would rock! Also, as I was really looking forward to dressing up like a Purdue cheerleader to celebrate graduation, that won't go through either My mom just couldn't get the costume right. Oh well.
